  1. I had the exact same thought the other day. Tracks have been the same for decades apart from the addition of the air fence yet riders fanny about with bikes then want the track changing? I'm awaiting the day footballers ask for a shorter pitch as running the full length is too knackering.
  2. "Aussie international Troy Batchelor was also sacked by Kings Lynn after he withdrew from the Poole meeting due to injury." This quote from the recent press release is the sickest speedway related comment I've ever read.
  3. Currently Belle Vue are the biggest club in U.K. Speedway and historically Belle Vue were the biggest club in U.K. Speedway. Granted other clubs come and go which I think is a good thing.
  4. Belle Vue supporters were up in arm when Wolves signed a ringer for the play offs. I know some fans support the move but it's not for me. Belle Vue supporters were up in arms when Poole signed a better replacement for a rider who it was falsely claimed had a season ending injury. I know some fans support the move but it's not for me. Belle Vue fans are up in arms as they cannot sign a replacement for a young rider who has broken his neck. I know some fans support the move but it's not for me.
  5. 23/8/17. I'll be there. Three meetings in five days. Love it.
  6. I think the explanation by Danny was a joke and rather a good one I thought.
  7. Which makes Drurys reported claims as to why he wouldn't switch the date for the Bewley/Smith-less Colts clash seem odd. It's not odd BTW it's just another speedway promoter being a dick with a win at all costs mentality.
  8. A real shame for Max especially coming just after he sorted his set ups for the NSS which bagged him a max. Get well soon mate. BSPA must be chuffed after reverting back to rules that when last in place cost us the cup when Kenneth was injured and now sees our hopes scuppered once again. There'll be no special dispensation happening here I'm afraid as we're not in their little club so r/r see effectively a 6 pointer replacing him over the four heats. Roll on next year.
  9. Looks like it's off for good then as you previously stated there are no open dates left. Shame as I would have come along to this clash. See you next year.
  10. Dropping Holder and Batchelor from the team is fine and perfectly with KLs right to do so. Holder was rightly banned for 28 days for his part in the Poole match fiasco. Dropping the riders when he did so shows Buster to be vindictive and petty minded. We experienced this at Belle Vue with our call off and during the uncertain winter. I man like that should not be in charge of UK speedway nor even his own track, that should be dealt with by others. He needs to go asap.
  11. We never turned him away. He approached us. We informed his promoter about the discussions. Management committee informed us he would come in on an 8. We couldn't accommodate him. He signed for Wolves on a 7.
  12. Jack belongs to you. http://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/glasgow-tigers-sign-jack-smith-12234620.amp It was whilst all the closed season BS went on at Belle Vue.
  13. If that's the case then why did CVS waste 10 days trying to sort it?
  14. NSS is the same as Prague (10k) when MCC deliver on their promise and finish the thing and with the stands on turn 3 & 4. Infrastructure is in place following SWC with some lessons learnt.
  15. Don't remind my of the A fixture. That had Skornicki, Glegg & Greaves score 4 and you still hit 38. Not looking good for The Aces. Adams has always been tactically clever. Need to factor in CVS. Broom and carpet special.
  16. I thought Tai's lap was a farewell lap, similar to the last great TW, Todd Wiltshire. Tai is always banging the drum about team GB saying why enter something if you have no chance of winning. If he managed to get a spot next year (a third wildcard gift?) he has no chance of winning so I'm assuming he will pull out.
  17. British Final 19/6/17 Ben Barker 11 Kyle Howarth 4 RR also makes you stronger. Add the above to the famous lack of home advantage and sadly it's a Wolves win.
  18. A salvage job there for the unlucky Colts. Lee and Jack have identical averages so Lee's 8 points plus another 5 or 6 from Rob would have seen a comfortable win but if your lucks not in what can you do. The unlucky youngsters stuck to the task and only ended up dropping two matches points so our misfortune was negated a little as we fight for top spot. Well done to Plymouth you can only race what's in front of you and now we've raced you I hope your luck continues.
  19. Teams have been calling matches off if they feel under strength for years. I can only remember Belle Vue and Mildenhall being pulled up though the punishments were not the same. As with many things in this sport it's the fluid nature that regulations tend to be applied that rubs people up the wrong way. It all feels a bit made up as they go along with the old pals act coming into play. Get rid of the crooks and we might be able to start moving forward. If we can coaxe some of the good guys back, all the better.
  20. As is often the case with speedway over the last few years, being proved right gives me no pleasure whatsoever.
  21. He's already lined up for Workington, even has a set of kevlars. Possibly 2 pointer for the Aces.
  22. Certainly puts a different spin on the forthcoming KO Cup clash. I think many Aces fans thought it would be a walk in the park.
