  1. The track has deteriorated over the last ten years to get to its current low state. Whinging tends to increase the older they get. These two factors plus the rumoured performance related pay instead of the usual big bucks pay out means it’s a no go for several old timers.
  2. I think it’s all down to the track especially with a whinger like Holder. There is no way he’d ride that every week. Not surprised KK and Hans aren’t returning along with others. This will be the issue with the poles dispite their high salaries, if they think the home circuit will jeopardise their Polish pay then expect them out of trouble at the back. Ford needs to splash out on the racetrack instead of a potentially high scoring reserve.
  3. Surely Morris with improve his average by not have Doyle in heat 13 & 15. Before if he was beaten by the oppositions top man in those heat then he scored 1 as Doyle was also ahead of him. With no Doyle they all move up one so he ends up with two extra points per match. Unless of course last year Doyle shepherded Morris around in those heats.
  4. I don’t think that will be the case as a lot of teams will have a number 7 that Zach is able to beat so a 2-4 in the reserves race. Switch Zach to meet said number 7 in his other rides and you limit the damage. No doubt if a TAC was required then it would be in place of one the the weaker reserves rides. That top five should cover the few points lost at reserve.
  5. We had colour telly from Seventies Back in the day, on holiday in your sleepy village I mentioned this to a lovely couple in a LOCAL shop. Next thing I remember was being rescued from a burning wicker man.
  6. What, to have two riders over eight once in twenty years?
  7. It’s the first time in over twenty years that Belle Vue have finished with two riders over eight.
  8. Henka Gustafsson. Average reassessed up after we signed him. Jason Lyons. Average increased due to rule change after we signed him. Tai Woffinden. Quoted 8 when we mentioned he’d been in touch looking for a UK return. Signed on 7.03 elsewhere. Matej Zagar. Rules changed during contract negotiations. To to name a few quickly off the top of my head.
  9. You assume wrong. Riders starting averages alter depending on the team they sign for.
  10. I do find Poole fans attitude to cheating odd, it just doesn’t phase you lot one bit. If ever I want to feel especially good about myself, I’ll either do some charity work or read a Poole thread for a bit.
  11. He signed for the Lions three weeks before the 8 point rule came in. ??????
  12. Tbh you dont know if they were average dropping until the end of the following season when they have a new average with their parent club. Its easy to think he dropped his form on purpose especially as he rode in so few meetings and throwing points away to ensure that Poole won at Lynn had a big impact on his figure. Pooles propensity for cheating also puts doubts in the mind that may not be there if another team was involved. Well watch the form of the worlds No10 with interest.
  13. With only 15 to 17 weeks before teams take to the track its utterly concerning.
  14. That was a Stevebrum post from back when Wolves signed Tai to win the league. It interesting to compare to current postings.
  15. Most people overlooked him due to his 6.34 converted average. Once one/some club got wind that he could be signed on 4.53 they snapped him up. If there was a live updated list of available riders with their effective average then there would probably be more of a bun fight when recruiting team members. Such a transparent and simple system wouldnt be adopted by the current set up in the UK due to the old boys network favouring certain clubs.
  16. Its definitely easier for teams such as Poole to sign ringers compared to say Belle Vue due to the nature of the decision makers. Rules are created or altered willy nilly to impede some whilst favouring others. Though Swindon and Wolves also had two riders over 8 as they have done before, its the first time in over twenty years that The Aces have been in that position and we suddenly get a ruling preventing us from keeping hold of them. Their not even subtle about it anymore. Trouble is they are throwing or have thrown the baby out with the bath water and look where its got us. Very sad.
  17. Could you donate a pound to SRBF every time you say youre going to leave it there?
  18. So Wolves suffered a whole season yet it would be 'fair' to have to have his REAL average altered because it isn't fair to other teams??? Not fair at all. Wolves had to suffer 2 seasons because the world champion rode poor and achieved a poor average because of it. So its only fitting the team who suffered that year was able to take advantage of it.
  19. It gets on my nerves when Gavan argues with Stevebrum. It gets on my nerves when Fred Flange argues with Stevebrum. It gets on my nerves when Starman argues with Stevebrum. It gets on my nerves when Matt Ford Fan argues with Stevebrum. It gets on my nerves.............
  20. If you have 4 & 5 point riders at reserve with the top rider taking one of the lower reserves rides you get, if they rider to their average 9.25 (6.25 + 3) If you have 2 & 7 point riders at reserve with the top rider taking one of the lower reserves rides you get, if they rider to their average 10.25 (8.75+ 1.50) I dont think clubs would spend 9 points at reserve but whatever the figures the maths show a two pointer is the way to go.
  21. I remember that last time we did grading, Lindback (Poole) was low and Harris (Coventry) was high, even though they were the same. Any system we adopt will not work satisfactorily as some of the people involved are bent. £££££ makes points, or hollow championships.
