  1. The majority of our side are from the second division with maybe even a third division lad thrown in. Coming up against a strong top tier team with only one CL rider makes it tough to see anything other than a Poole win. Be good to see one of those David v Goliath victories we used to get with previous inter league challenges.
  2. Lol. You’ll be bring up Alice Harts last dodgy decision. If only we had a current promoter who acted corruptly that we could lay into. Candy from a baby.
  3. Wow. So you think Wednesday’s Wimborne Rd track is better suited to the poles than the wide open spaces of the NSS. Now that’s a wind up or an incredible lack of speedway knowledge. I’ll go with the former, which is a shame.
  4. This will be tougher for us than the away match as the poles will fair better and PK can now race all out. The poles are reigned in at Poole as they are aware of the reaction of their polish clubs should they get injured plus losing the big bucks from over there. PK has been around long enough now to be one of those guys that feel if a track is poor, his effort will reflect that. The continuing, well documented problems with the Poole track will never allow these guys to shine. Also Shanes will struggle due to the gate and go nature of his home circuit. Removing these restrictions and giving these guys a track to RACE on will provide tricky yet entertaining opposition for us. Looking forward to it wether we win or not and it will act as a fine antidote to the heartbreakingly awful dish served up at Wimborne Rd last week.
  5. Good report without shying away from the controversy in heats 14 & 15 and the warriors rub of the green. One thing though, the tapes offences didn’t allow the Colts to build a four points lead, unless you are suggesting Verge would have defeated Ayres and Morley in heat 1. Similarly, Widman has the beating of Bowen and Dicken but that’s all. The 15m starts has no effect on the race results.
  6. Poole track is awful. I left half way through. I knew it was bad but watching on tv you just fast forward after bend three lap one. Being there in person and not having that option was mind numbing, just terrible. Monday can’t come quick enough.
  7. Kurtz 8.08 Josh 7.34 Sundstrom 7.75 Kildemand 9.00 Woryna 6.50 Scz 6.50 Shanes 2.95 48.12 Cook 8.45 Steve 5.80 Rohan 6.18 Starke 5.08 Max 7.39 Dan 4.59 ???? 2.50 39.99 When applying the correct averages to the Poole team and factoring in our injury ravaged teams replacements an away victory is a forgone conclusion. A team totalling nearly fifty against a team in the thirties doesn’t make for a thrilling encounter but much like last week Poole can only beat what’s in front of them. Should be some good racing though and I’m sure I’ll stay till the end this time.
  8. He didn’t finish a race due to bike problems for his only home match. He scored 8 from 4 at Swindon. He was poor last night but your opinion of his season so for (3 matches) is a bit out imo.
  9. Trouble is it goes on and on. It might just be funny the first time but these kind of comments have gone on for years. And yes it does effect how we see poole. If a pub had a load of irritating knobheads I’d choose to go elsewhere. The trouble is this is the only BSF so if you want to chat speedway here’s where you come. There is a very serious debate to be had about last night in the context of British speedway as a whole but it would very quickly descend into farce, so as with last night why bother?
  10. I’m off to the chippie and I’ll catch DIY SOS in the hotel I salute you pirates fans, I thought I was a speedway diehard but I couldn’t do what you do.
  11. More grading. Fingers crossed they get it sorted. Playing monopoly on my phone, even when the “racing’s” on. Zzzzzzz
  12. Track grade call after only two heats. Not looking good. Stay safe lads.
  13. Can you pay by card and is there decent food available inside the stadium?
  14. Unfortunately the rules don’t allow us to substitute a 8.66 rider in place of a 6.77 rider though I agree that if we could, it would go some way to addressing the massive disadvantage we find ourselves in. Being benevolent I’d happily go with your previous assessment of Steve using his scores over the years, around 7 I think. That’s from four rides whereas with Steve being our best rider at poole he’d line up in heat 15 and ride the double for us again. A 7 point average over 5 heats gives a figare of around 9, then add in the extra 3 TR points brings his match contribution to 12. I’ll go with your 7 point average and say if Lawson scores 12 or more then we haven’t lost out, much.
  15. Saved me a job with the figures. It shows an impressive growth rate especially looking at the two most recent seasons. Casting that forward just reinforces the view the Steve is utterly irreplaceable. Gutted. Advantage poole
  16. You can’t really take one meeting as a guide to a riders ability. Looking at Steve’s scores from last year you see he is our second best away rider nearly a point higher than Max, so every rider who is eligible for R/R is weaker then Steve on away tracks. Steve averaged 6.89 away from home last season. Lawson averaged 5.40 away from home last year so when you look at things over many meetings rather than just cherry picking here and there it shows we are considerably weakened.
  17. Gavan, don’t fall for this Walter Mitty character as A. when you copy his posts I see them and B. he knows nowt about speedway and just chats BS all day bloody long. He doesn’t even know how R/R works for your third heatleader. Cook can’t take a ride ffs. Look I’m falling into it now.
  18. Ever thought of doing a poster in the middle pages? Action shot or team photo. Something I could put up in my man cave.
  19. I’ll be coming down for this as I want to have a look at the old place while I can. I’ve not been during the Fraud era for obvious reasons but the current rumblings have stirred me into action. I’d booked this when we had our pre injury/broken heart line ups as I could see an Aces victory. Now it’s just a run out for the patched up Aces against an already strong pirates sides bolstered by the addition of PK. It’s just me coming along as the cost for the family can’t be justified at this famously gate & go venue. Looking forward to it anyway, just needed to dig out my Simmo rosette.
  20. A SGB Premiership Team’s initial Declaration must not exceed 42.50 and may include ONLY one rider with an MA of 8.00 or above.
  21. If we had Patrick at No2 I think he’d average 6.77 or above so Steve could slot back in when fit. The problem in going back to the original line up is could Zagar fit us in now his schedule for the season is set and will any new “rule” come out of BSPA towers?
