Poole v Belle Vue SGB Premiership A. 11th April 2018

Unfortunately the rules don’t allow us to substitute a 8.66 rider in place of a 6.77 rider though I agree that if we could, it would go some way to addressing the massive disadvantage we find ourselves in. Being benevolent I’d happily go with your previous assessment of Steve using his scores over the years, around 7 I think. That’s from four rides whereas with Steve being our best rider at poole he’d line up in heat 15 and ride the double for us again. A 7 point average over 5 heats gives a figare of around 9, then add in the extra 3 TR points brings his match contribution to 12. I’ll go with your 7 point average and say if Lawson scores 12 or more then we haven’t lost out, much. -

Saved me a job with the figures. It shows an impressive growth rate especially looking at the two most recent seasons. Casting that forward just reinforces the view the Steve is utterly irreplaceable. Gutted. Advantage poole -

You can’t really take one meeting as a guide to a riders ability. Looking at Steve’s scores from last year you see he is our second best away rider nearly a point higher than Max, so every rider who is eligible for R/R is weaker then Steve on away tracks. Steve averaged 6.89 away from home last season. Lawson averaged 5.40 away from home last year so when you look at things over many meetings rather than just cherry picking here and there it shows we are considerably weakened. -

Gavan, don’t fall for this Walter Mitty character as A. when you copy his posts I see them and B. he knows nowt about speedway and just chats BS all day bloody long. He doesn’t even know how R/R works for your third heatleader. Cook can’t take a ride ffs. Look I’m falling into it now. -
Ever thought of doing a poster in the middle pages? Action shot or team photo. Something I could put up in my man cave.

I’ll be coming down for this as I want to have a look at the old place while I can. I’ve not been during the Fraud era for obvious reasons but the current rumblings have stirred me into action. I’d booked this when we had our pre injury/broken heart line ups as I could see an Aces victory. Now it’s just a run out for the patched up Aces against an already strong pirates sides bolstered by the addition of PK. It’s just me coming along as the cost for the family can’t be justified at this famously gate & go venue. Looking forward to it anyway, just needed to dig out my Simmo rosette. -
A SGB Premiership Team’s initial Declaration must not exceed 42.50 and may include ONLY one rider with an MA of 8.00 or above.
-
If we had Patrick at No2 I think he’d average 6.77 or above so Steve could slot back in when fit. The problem in going back to the original line up is could Zagar fit us in now his schedule for the season is set and will any new “rule” come out of BSPA towers?
-
I think if they redeclare then I’d opt for the original lineup.
-
Hope he’s not out long, big blow that. Maybe get Zagar, Hougaard & Smith in place of Worrall, Drozdz & Etheridge. Lol.
-
Charity Shield.

7 & 9 has also seen a slow start in the UK. Craig has changed his back room set up massively so I’m putting it down to early teething problems. The people he has now should be able to react quickly and they will be aware more than Craig how cut throat the Poles can be. I’ll remain optimistic for now.
-
It wasn’t discussed at the AGM. It surfaced following Zagar’s tweet about returning at the end of November.

Funny, when all I post is fact. Over to you.......
-
You say discretionary I say fluidity. Glad we can agree. Sole purpose - no, that’s just silly. I like it when speedway fans call you out and you say show us the rule. We then quote a rule for you to find and suddenly it doesn’t matter. Discretionary way to stick to your guns, lol.
-
It’s next to the rule that says you can achieve an average after only 2h & 2a meetings (Max Clegg) or the rule where a club is fined and docked 3 points for a bogus call off. Last year a rider was stopped from riding for seven days after missing a meeting due to illness. The rule is in the rulebook in bold meaning its new for this year, even though it was applied last year? Some “rules” are written some are not as this allows fluidity in their interpretation dependant on which team is involved.
-
Two promotions openly discussed the fictitious rule. One promotion kept quiet about it and one promotion had to change their plans. The rest weren’t bothered as it didn’t effect them.

Josh was always the lad to beat when on their little MX machines over twenty years ago. I always thought he was destined for greatness. I cannot put my finger on why whilst riding a reserve last year he only managed an away average of 4.00 and an overall of just 4.68. I’m wondering if Lemon went for Starke because even though his average is only slightly higher at 5.08 he attained it whilst riding in the main body of the team, where he will be for these forthcoming fixtures? He might be of the opinion it’s harder in the top five?
-
About half the fixtures fall during school holidays and by adding in a couple of treat late nights you can still take kids to most fixtures.
-
If it helps Poole from going under then I’m with his decision to drop them.
-
I think there will be enough room for 500-1000 fans to get a view of the entire race. That’s all that is needed these days - unfortunately.
-
So called by Poole fans, lol. They are the Poole team of 21st century top level UK speedway. Knock yourselves out. Pmsl.
-
Drozdz has ridden for us. He got injured whilst riding for us.

2009. “I think he’s found his level in the NL”. 2012. “Cook is just a top tier second string, he’ll never be anything else”. 2014. “Did well to make the rostrum, he just doesn’t have the mentality or skill to clinch top spot”. (British Final) 2017. “Can’t see Cook troubling the scores today”. (GP challenge). 2018.............
