  1. If your paying riders more in line with Championship rates, you should be in the Championship and not polluting our waters?
  2. Over the limit anyway. What would people think if the stars tracked an illegal team, wouldn’t look good on the BSPA boss? Lol.
  3. Ex Rye House rider and rides Wolves well. Really pleased to see him in an Aces race jacket again. A great but so far wasted talent. I’d like to see the new GB set up get their claws into him and for him to listen.
  4. As usual the debate gets side tracked due to emotion/hate/love/bias. Take out the names and insert rider 1 etc. You win the SON in the final heat by scoring 7-2, 6-3 or 5-4. From that you deduce if you finish last you lose. Objective, don’t finish last, all other considerations are irrelevant. If we have a rider at the back, are his chances of moving up the field improved if his partner attempts to help him, are they reduced or do they stay the same? If we are in losing position what do we have to lose by attempting to improve the situation no matter how unlikely a positive result? If 20 odd backroom GB staff couldn’t collectively work that out then we have work to do.
  5. It is tricky due to it’s size and the lines it offers and probably the reason we didn’t see any team riding as we know it. With the track being so wet for the first two or three races you could have done it then by slowing whilst on the inside and offering your opponent a chance round the outside thus filling him in. I doubt anybody would have tried the outside for this reason but it would have been fun to see how slow the race could get. Shame nobody tried it.
  6. What kind of score do people think Cook would have got had he been left it. Aside from Milik and Lindback if Cook isn’t beating the others then he won’t get a sniff of even the semi final on Monday. Lindback had only been defeated by the world champion leading up to his last ride and his subsequent last place was more down to the fact they had already secured first place so he was happy to leave the squabbles to Woffy and Freddie. Handed us some much needed points.
  7. It’s difficult for Buxton to compete since the “big” clubs came along as money that used to be acceptable no longer is due to what’s being offered elsewhere. The irony is that these clubs bleated on about rising cost and wanted a level playing field. When this didn’t come they closed and/or dropped down. I can only think they have short memories as what they complained about a few years ago seems ok now the boot is on the other foot. The Colts got gazumped and rather than participate in a bidding war just said no, we have our (small) budget and that’s it. Probably will cost us another title but so be it.
  8. Funniest thing was seeing the track staff finally disregard a very animated Phil Morris from BSI, who just can to help themselves and have to interfere. Last few heats were closer to normal service. Intresting that the clerk of the course for this meeting was Mike Hunt. Quite apt. Shame for the French when set fair to meet the Aussies who they had already 4/3’d. Glad we beat them in heat two when things were a bit of a lottery due to the wet track. It made the later slip ups less of a consequence.
  9. When Stefan signed for Poole he used his old 2016 EDR average of 3.67 and not his more up to date CL average of 5.53 divided by 1.3. Averages this year, as always, are a bit fluid and more than likely depends on who’s asking. If you have a rider in mind think what average Belle Vue would get him on then Poole, then pick somewhere in the middle for everyone else.
  10. “is sick or carrying a non-speedway injury for which a Medical Certificate must be supplied to the SCB within 48 hours of the sickness / injury occurring in which case the Rider will receive a mandatory 7 days suspension of his SCB Registration from the day of the meeting”. He didn’t need the certificate on the day as he had 48 hours to get one, which he did.
  11. I think Cook, Fricke, Worrall, Tungate & Bewley would give them a run for their money but yes currently Cook, Fricke, Tungate, Bewley & 4 point something doesn’t match up.
  12. We need to sign a gater as we are away at Wolves, Rye, Swindon and Poole, all notoriously gate & go tracks. During this time we only have Poole at home. Who do you reckon - must be a gater?
  13. Seven GP’s during before the league cut off date. 25 week minus 7 leaves 18 dates to fit in 15 meetings. Take out the Monday BT meeting and that’s 14. FRN was a lazy poor response to a problem. Papering over the cracks yet again. They need a good shaking the lot of them.
  14. For years Poole fans ( only a handful) have polluted other threads with their unwarranted insults about teams/riders. Fans of these teams feel the need to “give it back” and thus they rock up on the Poole thread. It doesn’t happen with other teams as in the main they stick to their own threads or contribute to the discussion when they do visit. Its amusing that some Poole fans think, look at all the interest in our thread when in fact it’s as a result of their few moronic contributors stirring up trouble. Block ‘em.
  15. Not surprised a thread wasn’t started for the return fixture as the lack of interest whilst there is mirrored in the social media world. I’ve just got home as I left at heat 8 due to the appalling nature of the product on show. I think it was amplified by seeing the earlier meeting at the NSS. No racing and I’m confident there was no passing after I left. I only count passes after the third bend, first lap as up to then they’re just sorting themselves out off the start. Second and last visit. Nothing more to report.
  16. Cook out ‘till the SON event due to the new SCB 7 day sickness suspension.
  17. The rule did change and is now the 1st not 7 days. There is lots wrong with the averages and I’ve emailed the BSPA but had no response so I’m interested to see matches take place with incorrect line ups.
  18. Another frustrating night for Aces fans as we saw more points squandered due to our inability to adequately cover for our injured skipper. This was the most entertaining of the away meeting I’ve seen this year but I feared the worst after a very uneventful eight heats. The inside line was extremely strong but this led to some interesting riding as riders queued up on the line. Some tremendous skill was shown whilst they tried to avoid the guy in front at the same time as keeping in contact with the white line. Max appeared to have breaks fitted. This parking of the bike did leave you occasionally vulnerable to an outside past though these were few and far between. Jason showed his experience by setting his bike up to get of the start and then sticking to the white line as he knew it was safe. Another enjoyable visit to the Oaktree Arena on a lovely evening for speedway. Glad we got a point but the feeling remains that all these dropped points will see a play off spot just out of reach come the end of the qualifiers.
