  1. “is sick or carrying a non-speedway injury for which a Medical Certificate must be supplied to the SCB within 48 hours of the sickness / injury occurring in which case the Rider will receive a mandatory 7 days suspension of his SCB Registration from the day of the meeting”. He didn’t need the certificate on the day as he had 48 hours to get one, which he did.
  2. I think Cook, Fricke, Worrall, Tungate & Bewley would give them a run for their money but yes currently Cook, Fricke, Tungate, Bewley & 4 point something doesn’t match up.
  3. We need to sign a gater as we are away at Wolves, Rye, Swindon and Poole, all notoriously gate & go tracks. During this time we only have Poole at home. Who do you reckon - must be a gater?
  4. Seven GP’s during before the league cut off date. 25 week minus 7 leaves 18 dates to fit in 15 meetings. Take out the Monday BT meeting and that’s 14. FRN was a lazy poor response to a problem. Papering over the cracks yet again. They need a good shaking the lot of them.
  5. For years Poole fans ( only a handful) have polluted other threads with their unwarranted insults about teams/riders. Fans of these teams feel the need to “give it back” and thus they rock up on the Poole thread. It doesn’t happen with other teams as in the main they stick to their own threads or contribute to the discussion when they do visit. Its amusing that some Poole fans think, look at all the interest in our thread when in fact it’s as a result of their few moronic contributors stirring up trouble. Block ‘em.
  6. Not surprised a thread wasn’t started for the return fixture as the lack of interest whilst there is mirrored in the social media world. I’ve just got home as I left at heat 8 due to the appalling nature of the product on show. I think it was amplified by seeing the earlier meeting at the NSS. No racing and I’m confident there was no passing after I left. I only count passes after the third bend, first lap as up to then they’re just sorting themselves out off the start. Second and last visit. Nothing more to report.
  7. Cook out ‘till the SON event due to the new SCB 7 day sickness suspension.
  8. The rule did change and is now the 1st not 7 days. There is lots wrong with the averages and I’ve emailed the BSPA but had no response so I’m interested to see matches take place with incorrect line ups.
  9. Another frustrating night for Aces fans as we saw more points squandered due to our inability to adequately cover for our injured skipper. This was the most entertaining of the away meeting I’ve seen this year but I feared the worst after a very uneventful eight heats. The inside line was extremely strong but this led to some interesting riding as riders queued up on the line. Some tremendous skill was shown whilst they tried to avoid the guy in front at the same time as keeping in contact with the white line. Max appeared to have breaks fitted. This parking of the bike did leave you occasionally vulnerable to an outside past though these were few and far between. Jason showed his experience by setting his bike up to get of the start and then sticking to the white line as he knew it was safe. Another enjoyable visit to the Oaktree Arena on a lovely evening for speedway. Glad we got a point but the feeling remains that all these dropped points will see a play off spot just out of reach come the end of the qualifiers.
  10. If it was just left to chance the cards probably wouldn’t have fallen the way they did. It almost feels planned. The FIM didn’t have any contact with Belle Vue nor would you expect them to. Their only contact in the UK would have been with the BSPA.
  11. Must admit I’m guilty of that I have lot of friends in Poole Wolverhampton etc and I tell them it first out of the gate, gate & go stuff with lots of standing around whilst they grade the track with sub standard food etc in the venue. Sometimes think I should shut the f*^% up and let them decide but you know an opportunity missed and all that. Speedway fans like to be honest.
  12. I think is better to describe us as a bit less weakened as Garrity was only there in the first place as a replacement for our injured skipper.
  13. Cook won it ‘cause the opposition was rubbish and Max qualified ‘cause he rode well.
  14. We only want to race on our chosen race night like, er Wolves. Poole also have their chosen race night and KL did Wednesday before while Swindon have the majority of their meetings when they want them. As soon as we want the same it’s us being awkward. LOL.
  15. Belle Vue Speedway is delighted to announce a new partnership with hotel chain Jurys Inn. The Manchester City Centre hotel is offering speedway supporters travelling for the British Final on June 11 the chance to book a night's B&B using a 20% discounted code. Situated near the Bridgewater Hall, with easy access to train and bus routes, their Manchester hotel is located just 3 miles from the National Speedway Stadium in the heart of the city centre. Belle Vue CEO Adrian Smith said: “We’re delighted to bring Jurys Inn on board with us for the British Final. This is a huge event for which we anticipate a big crowd, many of whom will be travelling. “This new partnership demonstrates that businesses in Manchester are interested in engaging with Belle Vue and the stadium, especially when we are staging big events like the British Championship." To book your stay for the British Final, head over to www.jurysinn.com, using discount code SPEEDWAY when you pay. Code applies to reservations for Monday 11 June only.
  16. If it needs explaining, don’t. Just go along and enjoy the racing. Would you rather watch 15 heats of gate and go with two full teams or watch several top draw races where seven heats have guests in due to riders riding elsewhere? BTW when selling your house don’t spend all your time discussing its faults as you will drive the price down.
  17. Exactly. Ipswich last won the top league with six riders. Not all teams would want/can run at weekends. One league is so mind boggling simple to implement my brain hurts when trying to understand why it’s not happening. The only thing that keeps me sane is knowing The Aces will be back to Fridays and BH next year.
  18. Better fixture planning in previous years would have reduced the amount of clashes resulting in guests. Much like this year it wouldn’t have eradicated them but we didn’t need to go to the extreme of FRN. Having a big league of 19 teams would work fine, just as it did in 1976.
  19. It can. Here’s how. The last line is a give away....... “Our meeting against Scunthorpe on the 19th May will be postponed to a later date in the season due to ourselves being without Nicolai, Dan and Bradley who have been called up for Grand Prix Qualifiers. We would like to thank Scunthorpe for their co-operation in this”.
  20. Burst water main would no doubt lead to another fine. We need to go with a faulty generator as this is apparently risk free.
  21. This reminds me of when a mate got married. Just before the ceremony her dress and ring was taken and she had to use a boiler suit and a ring pull off a tin of beans & sausage. She tried to cancel but the organisers said if she did she would have to pay £1000 and be docked three points?? Even though she was in tears she went ahead with it. To make matters worse some people who had supported her up to that point refused to attend when they heard what was going on, even taking their wedding gifts away with them. Much worse they were heard calling her a dick as they left. I tried to reason with these people but one of them hit me in the face with a spade then they all stood around me laughing and kicking. I’m looking forward to Monday’s meeting as a way of putting all this behind me. I kept the spade just in case I run into Buster.
