  1. The thing is it should or can work, only the people running it will prevent this. Realistically, I’m not confident.
  2. There is enough riders. We had uncompetitive races in the halcyon days of the 70’s as Mauger etc raced away from the oppositions reserves. Even worse they could do it in heat 8. We created rules to stop that and we recently had protected heats where only the administration of averages saw that not work correctly. If we know beforehand that lower league club will be shat on then create a system to stop it. The Aces always got the crappy end of the stick with rider control and we would again but if it suits the sport as a whole, bring it back. We don’t have the option to do nothing nor make minor tweaks here and there. A full and comprehensive relaunch or reboot as is the modern term is required.
  3. Do Wolves choose to race Monday/midweek or is it forced on them? Would they get bigger crowds on Friday/Saturday?
  4. Rather than knock the management for not signing a decent replacement for Kerr, let’s see a list from you guys, then we can all make a judgement on your judgment.
  5. This to me reads that had BMR been able to run as they wished they would have completed the season with all debts paid. How do others interpret it? “It is with great regret that the Rye House Rockets have been forced from the Premiership league following the cancellation of the meeting at home against Swindon on 27th June 2018 by the BSPA.Our proposal to the BSPA securing the future of the Rye House Rockets was categorically rejected. We would like to clarify that BMR Speedway Limited continues to operate and remains committed to seeing Speedway as a major part of the future at Rye House Stadium.”The future sees Speedway continuing at Rye House for the remainder of the season and forward into 2019. Updates will be provided on our website: www.ryehouserockets.co.
  6. I was referring to this season but you said who would pay the debts. I presumed BMR would pay just as they did last year when running on their preferred racenight, but you obviously thought that not possible with your fairy godmother post.
  7. Apologies, I didn’t realise they were running up debts last year when running on their preferred racenight. The situation is worse than I was aware of. Very sad. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. All the clubs could have got round the table and with give and take an agreement reached on the moving of fixtures to help the Rockets. Never an option though as Buster said no. I think one or two other clubs, unbelievably were not arsed about them closing.
  9. Poole are the Poole of 21st century speedway which doesn’t really equate to a whole lot of beans, unfortunately.
  10. Tv matches always have more hits. Poole threads would have the normal amount of posts if you removed the “you’re a knob” “its a fact” ” no you’re a knob” insults and wind ups by the usual Poole posters. I fear that any plan to save British speedway will be these fair weather “win at all costs” fans disappear from Wimborne Rd. While us speedway fans are happy to see four lads tearing round, that won’t cut the mustard for this lot and they will be back to their football, bowls, hockey or whatever. Feel for the fans on those forums when they end up back there.
  11. Not a big surprise from two gate & go teams. Poole will relish busting to a track that comes a close second to theirs for its tedious from the gate fare.
  12. Not sure I like this latest development by the BSPA to create tension and movement in the table. Maybe the next team to fold will see the Aces go top. Just going to study the table and see who needs to go to help our title push.
  13. Looking at the team with Cook in and presuming the seventh member of the six man team is a ghost R/R position like last time where the top four take the rides, it gives a total of nearly 47 points using Championship figares. This is stronger than the current Championship, so those knocking the standard are basically saying that division is $%^^ and they wouldn’t watch it.
  14. Nice of them to return his call even if it did take a week or two. Lol
  15. Many? Which teams and I what circumstance? 4-5 at least please to constitute the “many”.
  16. It’s as ridiculous as suggesting that they would let Rye shut part way through the season. I love how everything would be different to suit your argument when time and time again over the years the contrary to that has been the norm.
  17. If The Aces has tried dropped down a league, there’s a chance they wouldn’t be accepted and the top league wouldn’t be bothered as they would draft in a second division club with a range of sweeteners, as they have done on numerous occasions. As with the SON, this insistance that you just take your ball home if things don’t suit is baloney. Its such a simplistic view it warrants little discussion.
  18. Indeed. I’m looking forward to getting our racenight back next year. Like Rye it’s hit us terrible having to move racenight and as Adrian told me, we had no say.
  19. Nothing at all to do with BV. When we ever received help from the authorities? I’d love a more detailed post so I can put you straight on your misunderstandings.
  20. Also in ‘79 PC was programmed to ride after every track grade where is was heavily watered, leading to slow starting PC getting filled in.
  21. Was Sharcross a speedway man? Can’t this all parliamentary committee that’s often touted in the Star sort something out for us?
  22. Belle Vue paid all their debts, late but in agreement with the riders. The stand off with the council was then spun as a debt issue?especially once Buster thought he could take over. The irony is the new lot paid the lower level of running fees as set out by the original promotion. How the sport could do with those two now, instead we have Buster.
  23. The fact you refuse to accept responsibility for your posts makes things a hundred times worse. You did say something ironically profound given your situation now and moving forward, it put me in mind of the Lou Reed song redone by the BBC a few years back..... Reap Reap Reap What you sow Oh such a perfect day.
