There should be a MINIMUM of two racing lines and this should be monitored by refs. If they observe a meeting with only one line then it should be mandatory that it is corrected for the following meeting. Tracks that provide only one line need to be fined as they would if consistently providing a dangerous surface.
Problem for us if we make the play offs is if we meet Poole. The gate and go nature of Wimborne Road makes us very vulnerable, sure it makes for great speedway at the NSS as we can easily pick them off but down there and over two legs I could see The (R)aces losing out.
Hope this doesn’t end up like last year when Wolves we’re gifted 8 points and The Stars only had three riders from the original team for the second meeting.
Lessons not learned?
Uess Craig has been a guest then his last three visits to the Abbey were 9+2/5, 8/4 & 9/4 giving 8.62.
Kurtz averaged 8.80 so we benefited by 0.18.
Quite how that small amount effects us getting four points I’m not sure?
Great effort from the lads last night and should we sneak into the play offs a final with the two teams would be a mouth watering event over the two legs.
If we do sneak in and end up with Poole then as Monday showed we just can’t do it on the gate and go circuits, so it would be heartache again for the (R)ACES.
On what date was it rearranged?
Its a real shame for Belle Vue to lose their racenight when other clubs get to keep theirs through “special dispensation”. It’s even more galling that when we go there WE are the ones forced to miss riders.
Still it’s only Belle Vue.
Coventry, Poole and others required an extension many years ago, it was a yes then so it’s a yes now, as all teams should be treated the same - shouldn’t they?
That all ended on the rainy night in Manchester with his role in ensuring Poole got the result they needed to make the play offs. It played out in full view of the Sky cameras with Steele looking like a rabbit in the headlights. Thing is he had a job to do and followed it through even knowing the danger he placed the riders in.
He liked the idea of being a speedway supremeo but after that it would never happen.
The fact it happened at Belle Vue seems to have turned him against us as he has acted in this way on previous occasions.
Nothing will ever come of it as this is just speedway. The only silver lining is that very few of us actually see this and give a monkeys.
