  1. An excellent misunderstanding of the workings of UK speedway, BSF style.
  2. Similar to other years where Belle Vue are the only team releasing heat leaders. Bigger picture and all that guys
  3. Here’s hoping for a 60-30 stuffing when we visit and and exciting 46-44 win when you’re at the NSS. Lower our average, save some pennies and 3 points each.
  4. If it’s like last year 36 points, equivalent to winning all your home meetings and you’re in the playoffs where injuries and ringers then win you the “league”.
  5. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the panthers finish 15 points or more ahead of us in the qualifiers. Maybe keep the champers on ice though, as injuries or the odd ringer thrown in could see The Aces win the cup, whilst saving a good few grand in points money over the season.
  6. What’s people’s opinions when matching up the Aces team rider for rider against those teams already announced or those where we have a good indication of their probable line ups? I think we hold up well with the only question marks being our two riders returning after bad smashes last year and whether our new wonderkid is just that. I think we’ll make the play offs at least.
  7. The problem is - and we’re complicit in this - that the sport cannot be taken seriously due to the way rules etc are just altered and made up on the spot. We like to think it’s a sport but it’s just a minor fluff entertainment like monster trucks or stock cars. Im sure there’s a Gladiators forum where the contributors bemoan the fact Wolf has been overlooked yet again. Speedway has reaped what it sows I’m afraid.
  8. Good luck to our mate Jackson Andrew Smith up at Redcar in the Championship for 2019. With Redcar switching to a Friday racenight - the same night as the Colts - Jack wasn't available to us for 2019, but it's the right decision for him to push on into the higher league. We wish him well and hope to see Jack back at Belle Vue in the future, and hopefully riding for the Aces.

  10. None of our team have to hit the ground running. Dimitri and Jiamon can settle into their first full season in the top flight and Dan and Steve can use track time early doors to build themselves up. If a few thrashing’s away result, it doesn’t matter especially to me as I won’t see them. If that results in us bringing in a ringer for the play offs then so be it. 21st century speedway guys get use to it.
  11. Two four point reserves if performing to average would score eight points a meeting. A four and a two would score 6.5 as the two pointer would only take three rides. It’s a net gain of half a point for team building if you follow the latter. This is just maths and not my opinion.
  12. Lemon wanted Bjerre over Cook whereas I think we could have had both. The new rule stopping Jack riding at seven didn’t help us but we need to expect these winter rule changes to supper our plans. It could have still been done though. My heart says keep Cook in the side as he’s a passionate Ace who we’ve watch go from reserve rookie to GP man. My head says keep Cook as after a poor year he averaged nearly eight. Once he got the GP monkey off his back and signed in the CL he was back to his best. He’ll put a point on his 7.50 starting average and thats what clubs need.
  13. Glad for Craig. Can earn some good money now. He’ll have a great year.
  14. Yeh, what is this obsession with speedway fans about fair play? Stop coming on hear spouting drivel, if you don’t like it, stop going. Oh, hang on a minute.
  15. That appraisal is very very wrong.
  16. If rules were correctly applied then yes but the rules are very fluid and apply differently to different clubs. Decisions makers can also easily be influenced in a sport as small as it is now. It’s small because of things like this but the bottom line is, nobody care. It’s were we are I’m afraid.
  17. Max Dan Ken Steve Charles/Jason/MPT Josh Auty Josh Pickering or Jamon
  18. Dan has got ten months to be fully back to his best. If we finish third from bottom we can still win the “league” in October.
