Poole v Belle Vue Thurs 2nd May 2019

Don’t think he’ll get the 5 points Dimitri scored last time, not that it matters though. -
A few grand My take was I’ve had knobhead bosses before now and the best way to deal with them is to take there money until something else comes along. You tend not to put too much into it and this has proven to be the case. Values and morals look good in a tv drama or film but in the real world it will end up costing you.

Er, with coloured sponsor logos and a pay rate reflective of Team GB taking the spots on the bike and suit I’d say yes. Compromise is a wonderful thing.

The Aces have 14 home fixtures this year and four of those are on BH Monday’s. If a fixture planner cannot arrange only 10 fixtures on a Friday that don’t clash with other events then they shouldn’t be doing the job. Fans would probably accept 2-3 clashes so it’s actually only 7-8 fixtures to arrange without a clash. The fixture planner this year managed to arrange clashes between the two Belle Vue teams not once but FIVE times, that takes some doing. -

This was as close as the last one with the Panthers missing out on the bonus point in a fantastic last heat. Ricky’s well known early season form continued with only 3 points and this saw The Aces unable to shake off the Panthers for much of the meeting. We dug in later on and got the 3 points we wanted in a safe and entertaining match. Top notch. -
Apart from Rentruck I agree, his logos are no better than anybody else’s.

In speedway we use an system of rider averages to give a fairly good indication of how much better or worse a rider is when compared to others in the league. It also helps where they will ride in a team. Out of Busters stable of riders only one was better than Craig. Therefore he was better than the rest. This isn’t my opinion by the way, a computer would have come up with the same due to the logic used. Hope this helps.

Whoever gates will win, provided they can dodge the dangerous bits of the circuit. Giving this one a wide berth. -

That was a very welcome return from Ricky seeing him average 6.40 in that meeting and bolster his low start to the season. If he can hit on or around his starting average again I’ll take that at this stage. He’s targeted a 7-7.50 average put I think that’s a bit off yet as he’s not hit that kind of average in a match yet nor looked like it. -
Should be as close as the last one when we were only six up going into the last race and that was courtesy of Lasse breaking down twice whilst leading. To add to the well know issues with the team we have Ricky averaging 4.00 points and looking all at sea at this early stage of the season. I think we’ll grind out a result in this top v bottom exchange and the entertainment will be top notch again Good luck to both teams and stay safe.

Just checked your website, are you sure it’s £25?

£5 for kids plus £2 booking fee. 241 was put forward over the winter, I’m surprised it’s online only but it’s better than nothing. Well done Robins.

Bjerre and his team mates have to cut their cloth to suit their purse.

Certainly takes the sting out of all these complaints we get on here about the length of time meetings take to run. Belle Vue like many other clubs have been wrongly accused when all the time it was the refs at fault. Now we know where the issue lies, solving it shouldn’t be a problem. Many fans mistakenly thought it was a multitude of issues but thankfully that’s not the case.

That’s the most I’ve enjoyed a meeting at Monmore for decades though with no pressure you could enjoy the track for what it is. Heat 3 and 11 even with the white line advantage were still great as riders were all over the place in these heats trying to gain an advantage. It had a really fun feel to it similar to my trips down the M6 to Telford and the laughs that provided. Max made me giggle. Becker’s one to watch and him and Wolves is a match made in heaven, he’ll make them unbeatable at home this year. Surprised we won on aggregate with the way we rode this evening , not that it mattered as the place in the final is booked. Bring it on. Two sets of Happy fans leaving the stadium, not often that happens.

Great meeting as always with Wolves and plenty for both sets of fans to be pleased with as the match score had plenty of interest up until heat 12. Lots of good races with many being 2 in 1 on a track somehow devoid of dust until heat 15. There was some shenanigans with Adams’ nominations and this led to a 20 minute delay so it took the running time past the usual sub 2hr mark. It was an excuse to sit in the lovely sunshine any way. Nice to be traveling to Monmore for what now is a friendly. At the risk of upsetting folk I still hope any fallers don’t get injured, it’s the way I am and I’m not going to change.
-
I can only speak about the Colts fixture that was referred to in the original post, that only had one R/R for the injured Paul Bowen. He was there with his kevlars on, so maybe he was hoping to give it a go despite false optimism. Anyway due to there being lads left without a team place this year we are bringing in Kean Dicken for our next match.
-
Craig was advised that all his personal sponsors had to be in black and white. The only coloured one on Ipswich is Tru Plant and I can’t see any on the Lynn kevlars. Troy can do what he wants as he isn’t a Chapman rider.

Luke C had a stinker of a meeting. He’s found it tough this year but I hope he manages to turn it round.
