011.1.18Bona-Fide Attempt to Race A rider, who, having started in a heat does not make an honest attempt to ride to the best of their ability, as judged by the Referee, shall be guilty of an offence, which may entail disqualification from the heat or a penalty. Failure to make a bona-fide attempt to race, if the Referee considers it to be an alternative to not participating in a meeting, is an offence. In team and pairs competitions, team riding is permitted. Mind you when has BSF ever had the desire to race within the rules? Openly discussing cheating as an acceptable way to compete in sport. Why am I not surprised

Belle Vue v Ipswich Play off semi 2nd leg 3 Oct

Yes, crazy that they missed it when sorting the new rule. I’m glad they created the Tai rule back in the day but even that was poorly written as it failed to take into account long term injuries. That had a devastating effect on the Wolves team, sadly. This might be at odds on here and at BSPL towers but we should all want fair play and for teams to adequately cover for hospitalised team members. That’s my desire but I’ll don my tin hat and await the BSF jeers. -

It would have been pointless as the long term injury rule wasn’t in place then just the old August - no team changes rule. Ridiculous oversight that made the final a sorry none event. Glad they changed it, for all concerned in the spirit of fair play. The only problem we have now is all other teams will be feigning injuries to bolster their teams at play off time. As in the past they will produce dodgy sick notes whilst these injured riders compete abroad. Belle Vue have suffered other teams doing that to them on many occasions. Maybe we could get an outside source to monitor this. Bent BSPL/BSF would never stand for that though. -
Jason has shown terrific service to UK speedway, only missing the full 2021 season. Not like Lambert who has missed the full 2021 season.

He’s was replacing Chris Holder who had suffered multiple injuries similar to Max this year. Something that bizarrely BSF get off on as it weakens their rivals. Bit sick if you ask me but everyone’s different I suppose. The worse thing about that particular season was Middlo forcing his riders out onto a dangerous rain effected track he himself said was bad. My low opinion of him dropped even lower as I still had poor Chris’ incident in my mind. All for a bit of silverware, shocking. -
Unfortunately not….. 016.1 PREMIERSHIP PAIRS 016.1.1 QualifyingCriteria 2 riders from the top 4 by MA from the green sheets of the month prior to the event will determine the Pair for each Team, with the Rising Star being the reserve. We were wrongly stopped from signing Robert in September by the dodgy old boy’s network. Someone from outside the sport got involved and put a stop to this continual nonsense and eventually the rules were followed. Against the grain I know but I wouldn’t mind more outside influence on the BSPL’s corrupt admin however much it upsets BSPL/BSF.

But you cannot ignore the newer rule either, in fact the newer rule should take precedence over the old one, which shouldn’t have been left in. If you apply both rules then you have two cut off dates for changes. Ipswich hit the deadline 07/08/2022 but if they wanted to make a change they could say they will use the old rule and have until the 28/08/2022. Sheffield hit theirs 31/08/2022 so they would prefer to use the new rule to get some extra days should they need it. There is no reason for the old rule to be there, as I’ve mentioned before it impacted teams with long term injury issues when all it need to do was address ringers. The fact the new rule did this and evened out the playing field for when teams could change up to (75%) was perfect. Unfortunately they forgot to remove the old rule. Just to be clear to the usual suspects, no rules have been hastily rewritten, no brown envelopes have changed hands (a refreshing change after all these years) and nothing has been done with the dreaded best interests of speedway that the in crowd often use. It’s purely a desire to see the rules adhered to and the usual BSPL antics pushed to one side. -

They didn’t break the rule as there was no rule there at the time. Signing ringers for the play offs was subsequently stopped but they made a cock up with the rules which saw replacing long term injured riders also stopped. A oversight that hit Wolves hard in 2017. This has since been addressed and is the reason Belle Vue signed Lambert for their last four fixtures, all within the rules. -
Bit sick that mate. Give you head a wobble. Get well soon Max.

A Premiership Transfer Window opens after 25% of meetings are complete and closes when 75% of meetings are complete. This permits changes to the team on 2 occasions, except for proven long term injury. I’ve changed this to suit the argument of those falsely shouting cheats. It’s not written this way in the rule book for a very specific reason and any ambiguity is removed when reading the rule as printed. The BIG problem is correctly reading and understanding the rule makes any cheating claims disappear so they misquote the rule so they can continue trolling. Very sad

Having a rule that bans a team from replacing a long term injury victim at any point in the season is bad. IMO. Having a rule that bans a team from bringing in a ringer near the play offs is good. IMO Now I know most on here think replacing a lad in hospital isn’t for them but I don’t agree with it, for any team. If Jason got injured I’d love to see Ipswich follow the rules as we did and sign Dan for the rest of the year. Hopefully the Kings Lynn away match will go ahead with a few more bums on seats as the prodigal son returns. You’re welcome Buster. -

Belle Vue with Max in. “Not a great team, probably choke, just don’t do it for me” Belle Vue with Max injured and replaced by Lambert. “Might as well hand them the trophy now”. No Lambert. “Lambert should be riding over here, I’m so angry he’s not”. With Lambert. “Why is he riding over here, I’m so angry”. Guest. “Guests are crazy especially in the play offs, no wonder they don’t take the sport seriously”. No Guest. “They should be made to use guests, no wonder they don’t take the sport seriously”. You guys are as dumb as. -
This forum perfectly sums up why the sport is dead. It matters not a jot to you lot that the rules were correctly followed, it’s not even about fair play as you scumbags were rubbing your hands with glee once Max was in hospital and we had a second division rider covering - you were in glover as normally Cooks 5 to Maxs 16 would have been an issue that would have swung the tie away from the Aces. The people running the sport are fans who’ve got lucky in business and have a bob or two but primarily they are fans, just like you. Spiteful, devious, sick, just basic horrible individuals who bend and break the rules to feather their own nest and sod the bigger picture. Well done guys, you’ve killed it off with your hatred of the rule book and one particular team.

Mistakes like this shouldn’t happen, especially when the rules are clear. Petty jealousies cloud the issue with board members making decisions to suit their own team. Whilst it‘s frustrating that BSF members spout spiteful incorrect rubbish, to have the BSPL committee doing so is unacceptable and the main reason why the sport is dead. -
Rules are written this way so the management committee can decide how rules will be implemented depending on who is asking. Basically it’s always a no for the Aces and a yes for the rest. No rider, whose team has qualified for the play offs…….. Or No rider, whose team is in the top four positions in the league table……. Simple.

Harry losing his mojo had a big impact and unfortunate incidents hampered our efforts, though this can happen to most clubs. We were on the back foot when we lost to a Henry Atkins inspired Plymouth. Oxford and others met Plymouth with a 3 pointer in his place so victory was a breeze for them. Being made to ride that crucial fixture last night in those conditions just rubbed salt into the wounds. I’m told conditions were worse than the previously mentioned Plymouth meeting, incidentally my last ever away match.
