  1. When he rode here last his average was 7.61, which is not identical to 7.81. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/p22_issue_final-1.pdf
  2. I think as a final meeting it should be a cracker and we could sneak a win with a fair wind. Missing Charles made it almost impossible but with a bashed up Norick it’s a done deal over two legs. Jacks just the icing on the cake. Hope the weather plays ball and we get the usual racing at NSS.
  3. Strange indeed. As this very forum shows, a large percentage of those few thousand actually approve and champion the rule breaking etc and take exception when an outsider comes along to make sure the rules are followed.
  4. Correct. Then said newbie goes a few more times, learns it’s a bent joke of a sport, disappears and tells everyone it’s a bent joke sport. Tracks then don’t get enough fans to pay top dollar in rent and are then closed.
  5. Reading the pre season Speedway Star interview with Jim Lawrence, I just shuck my head at the sheer stupidity of him and those running the sport. He referenced the changes made following Lamberts end of season injury cover for Max and their moves to prevent it. The thinking being we don’t like riders coming in just for play off meetings even if covering for injury. The fixture list produced preseason had all top league fixtures being completed in August, with only the play offs in September. The “ringer” rule states that no team changes can be made after the end of August. This means - according to the rules, teams can make a signing at the end of August when all the fixtures are supposed to be complete with these new signings only having the play offs to ride in. It beggars belief and with an administration so inept, it’s not difficult to see why the sport in this country is dead.
  6. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying your increased chances of success due to another’s misfortune. I gained two places on my Great North Run finish as two competitors suffered minor strokes in front of me. Their family members took exception to my celebrations but like you guys on here I told them to get a grip. What are you supposed to do when gaining an advantage. Just glad I’m surrounded by like minded people on here.
  7. I hope Charles is ok too, thanks guys at this difficult time. Cheers BSF up at least and I’m guessing the celebrations can now go ahead at the Cleveland Arms. Grim.
  8. Only for the semifinal. The final is scheduled for October when new averages come into force and this will probably scupper those plans.
  9. But Holders isn’t. Lol They make it up at they go along and that worries me as they can try and push anything through unless we get a lawyer again. Quite why it should be up to us to pay and make clubs rides by the rules is beyond me and all those many ex fans.
  10. I agree Zmazlik would have been a great replacement and had we stuck with the rules that we rode to last year, that would have been allowed. Unfortunately for us few long suffering fans, they re wrote the rules so it’s a no go this year. I also agree with you that their cartel mates could come to their aid and we’ll see this seasons rules broken again.
  11. I don’t want you to use guests in the play offs as I’ve always thought it a stupid rule to stop a team finding an adequate full time replacement at their time of need. I’m not a fan of guests even if it rubs folk on here up the wrong way. At home you can use Max Fricke which makes tou a bit stronger but you couldn’t use Max away as he is too good to allow it, similarly with Emil & Jason should Ipswich not qualify for the play offs. Lambert cannot guest and I doubt Artem would take the booking though Bates would bankrupt the club if it got him some tin. You’ll probably have to go with R/R but this can be tricky as demonstrated when Belle Vue lost out on a sure fire win in 2021. Edit: Max’s new average means he can guest home & away for Tai if the Lions don’t make it. Like for like so nothing lost for the Tigers.
  12. Tai has changed from being a 28 day facility rider to a full time team member. His 28 day period ended last Wednesday 30th. Due to this and the ridiculous decision to revert to a ruling whereby you cannot sign a new team member as injury cover at play off time, it’s now down to guests or rider replacement.
  13. Yes, I should have checked the figures rather than taking it as red the info on here was correct. Schoolboy error on my part.
  14. 012.2 TEAM COMPOSITION A Premiership team’s initial declaration must not exceed 39.00 points for the top 6 riders. Rising Star riders will be declared at number 7. A Premiership teams declaration must not exceed 39.00 points in any declaration following the issue of established MA’s for 2023 for 6 riders, (excluding the Rising Star rider). Except where the MA of the introduced rider is equal to, or lower than the rider being replaced.
  15. There was a perfectly good rule but Jim Lawrence and his cartel cronies got rid of it. It allowed teams to sign a full time team member in place of an injured rider thus meaning teams didn’t need to rely on guests during our showpiece event when the media is watching. It also stopped the ridiculous situation where clubs could have 13 different team members during the season. Dumb just doesn’t cover it. 012.2 TEAM COMPOSITION A Premiership Transfer Window opens after 25% of the League fixtures are complete and closes when 75% of League fixtures are complete. This permits changes to the team on 2 occasions, except for proven long term injury.
  16. 010.2.3 AmendedMA’s With the approval of the BSP LTD GC or Directors for: - a) riders who have been absent from British Speedway racing for more than 3 seasons (The MA may be increased or decreased) BSP LTD = Cartel. Holders average will be re assessed down to 7.11 (at most) if the move goes ahead.
  17. We weren’t allowed to keep them at reserve as we were compelled to sign another RS after Tom was banned from the scheme. Wolves and Belle Vue have used a similar amount of riders over the last five seasons and this puts them separate from the rest of the league in terms of loyalty. There’s 3 ex Colts in the Acea lineup which is in itself quite extraordinary.
  18. Grim but inevitable news. You cannot run the sport in this country as it has been without casualties. I’ll miss the atmosphere of the friendly rivalry between The Aces and wolves and there will always be a warm welcome at the NSS should you fancy the sixty odd mile trip up to see your old favourites. Maybe an ex wolves v Aces challenge at the start of next season.
  19. I thought the 1st of the month rule would apply as when mentioning assessed riders lower down it states 3 home and 3 away without mentioning a time period for it to come into force. Ambiguous. Anyway it seems to be 10 days after as both Emil & Artem received averages on a new declaration 10 days after their 3rd home or away meeting. Working on that assumption Vadim will get a new average on the 31st. Be interesting to see if they are consistent.
  20. 010.2.1 EstablishedMA’ Updated MA’s will be calculated monthly on a rolling basis on all eligible meetings from the past 2 seasons, up to and including 23rd of the month, to become effective from the 1st of the following month. He only completed his third meeting last night and needs to wait until the 1st of September for it to come into force.
  21. All this talk on the Bates threads about who to kick out as they chase their shiny cups. Bates’ win at all costs mentality came out during last years play offs, trying to circumvent the rule book, so I guess it’s rubbed off on his fans unfortunately. Not including injuries The Aces have made 2 -3 changes to the bottom end of the team over the last 5 years. I prefer that as fans can identify with their speedway family but that’s just my opinion and it’s ok for you all to favour the hire ‘n’ fire approach.
  22. 2018 rule book 16.2.4 Riders new to SGB Premiership & Championship League racing are categorised as follows: Cat 1 & 2 Any rider riding in a professional league in the previous or current season will be assessed on a “Grading List. Based upon results obtained in all other Professional Speedway Leagues and given an Assessed MA accordingly. Cat 3: Riders who are eligible to ride in the National Development League. 16.2.5 The Assessed MA's for new Riders to the SGB Premiership & Championship League racing is: Cat 1 as per the grading List Cat 2 as per grading list Cat 3 2.00
  23. Same here, out of the near 3000 races I’ve seen at NSS, there’s been a few awful ones.
