  1. That is some reply. Saying “I believe other riders in a similar position have guested”. Why the need to “believe”, you should either know if they have or haven’t and give examples (they haven’t). I have no idea what the CL converted average is all about as those riders don’t have an * against their entry in the official declarations, it’s just altered (by 1.5) as Connor Mountains was at the beginning of the season. Shockingly inept reply and I’d actually prefer if they just fronted up and said it’s dodgy, it’s wrong but it’s what we want so suck it up.
  2. Message to racegoers from the Belle Vue Charitable Trust For those racegoers unaware, Belle Vue has a Trust which was set up to support our riders and other charitable initiatives, supporting those in need of help. For those who contribute regularly to the 50:50 draw and Chase's White Line Challenge, those proceeds go into the trust to raise funds for these causes. Following Tate's crash on Monday, the Trust has got to action and kindly agreed to pay for Tate's Mum's flight to the UK from Australia so she can be with him as he enters his next stage of recovery. The trust has also been liaising with the team at the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund who will support with expenses whilst here in the UK and we're sure the other crowd funding / fundraising initiatives will help him get back on his feet, replace damaged equipment and cover expenses in the months to come. All of this would not be possible without the tremendous support we receive week in week out from the supporters of Belle Vue Speedway and the unfailing efforts of David Burroughs and his Belle Vue Speedway Supporters Club (BVSSC) team. And not forgetting, the great support shown at tracks across the country for Benevolent Fund track collections. A huge thank you to you all and a huge personal thank you. Philip Gunning, Chair of Trustees.
  3. With regards the collision, it was just a racing incident with no malice intended. The referee has to disqualify someone and that can lead fans to thinking a dirty move has taken place when it hasn’t. Awful end to a fabulous debut. I look forward to his return as he seems a real Ace. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rew guest for Tate at our next home meeting. After that we need a replacement due to the transfer window closing on us. Might see Jye back or an untried 4 pointer.
  4. We can agree that the SCB are inconsistent in how rulings are dealt with but I disagree about Kurtz looking bad. He never had to say he wouldn’t ride in the UK as aside from his aborted attempt at a comeback and his chase for individual glory (as riders have done for decades), he hasn’t rode anywhere until fit this weekend.
  5. Checked and you are correct. Brady 21/05/24 Injured 23/05/24 Missed Oxford away 25/05/24 Rode FIM like Collins & Carter etc…. 26/05/24-27/06/24 he rode one meeting in Poland, pulling out before completing his rides due to his injury issues. 28/06/24 Subsequently fit to take in his fixtures as they fell. I think you are justified in thinking the riders mentioned above are #+%*#^. I’m of a different opinion, which is what the forum is all about.
  6. Official declarations from when he arrived until the seasons end had him marked as “* assessed due to one of the following. Est MA older than prev 2 seasons.” https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/p23_issue_26.pdf https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/p23_issue_34.pdf From 2023 rules. 011.4.2 Guest Rider (G) C. the guest must be in a current team declaration and have an established MA.
  7. Why would they do that (trolling)? Don’t know what they get out of it.
  8. If he wanted an all Aussie team he wouldn’t have replaced Max with Dan.
  9. In other words we need a gater. I’m happy with Tate if he’s the racer people say he is.
  10. It’s got Brady in the team but people said he’s banned. Confused.
  11. The unpalatable truth for us fans is that people don’t like speedway. I’ve listed the lengths the Aces have gone to both currently and in the past and I’ve seen first hand the apathy towards the sport when I’m banging the drum with friends, family & colleagues. Our support is literally dying out and something needs to change to make it more appealing. The meeting on Monday was one of the best I’ve seen in over 50 years of watching the sport but you could have it on a loop in the Arndale or wherever and it would make little to no difference to the long term support. It’s a worry, a big worry.
  12. There was more passing in that one meeting than all of our six away league matches put together so not good TV for the modern day speedway fan with little gate ‘n’ go to warm their cockles. Must admit I enjoyed it.
  13. Well that’s that question answered.
  14. Anders Rowe was on the RS list at the start of the 2021 season. Ipswich signed Drew Kemp as their RS and Anders as their other reserve. Anders guested for Sheffield in place of their RS Josh Bates and when I queried it stating Anders was no longer an RS, they said he was on the list at the start so he stays an RS. Anders average was 5.49 which dwarfed Bates’ figure (He finished on 2.67). His paid 6 secured a narrow 2 point win for the Tigers. It could have been another of those Belle Vue/Bates things and Edwards might well no longer be an RS. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2021-rising-stars/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/p21_issue_10.pdf https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2021-rider-statistics/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/21results/sheffield_01.07.21_res.pdf
  15. Anybody saying a speedway meeting is just 15 minutes of entertainment is simply trolling or just simple.
  16. Is that correct? I’d have thought Ipswich & Sheffield were better at home. Any stats people out there to confirm?
  17. Maybe try £14 admission and kids free for professional 500cc no brakes speedway. The place would be packed……..wouldn’t it?
  18. Let us know your master plan or better still put your plan into action and take over the NSS, you’ll make a killing.
  19. Like discussing Belle Vue speedway on a speedway forum. Do you go around the other sport/entertainment forums telling them you’re not going?
  20. Must admit I’m old school and just enjoy each individual race. If every race was great and we or the Lions won 75-15 I’d be happy. I know modern fans prefer the gate ‘n’ go with a close score but it just doesn’t do it for me.
  21. Family ticket 2 adults & 2 U16 £45. Have your tea at home before venturing out to the speedway if you don’t like the prices or use the van outside. Fail on your part due to bad planning. Fact.
