There was more passing in that one meeting than all of our six away league matches put together so not good TV for the modern day speedway fan with little gate ‘n’ go to warm their cockles. Must admit I enjoyed it.

Well that’s that question answered.

Anders Rowe was on the RS list at the start of the 2021 season. Ipswich signed Drew Kemp as their RS and Anders as their other reserve. Anders guested for Sheffield in place of their RS Josh Bates and when I queried it stating Anders was no longer an RS, they said he was on the list at the start so he stays an RS. Anders average was 5.49 which dwarfed Bates’ figure (He finished on 2.67). His paid 6 secured a narrow 2 point win for the Tigers. It could have been another of those Belle Vue/Bates things and Edwards might well no longer be an RS. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2021-rising-stars/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/p21_issue_10.pdf https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2021-rider-statistics/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/21results/sheffield_01.07.21_res.pdf

Anybody saying a speedway meeting is just 15 minutes of entertainment is simply trolling or just simple.
-
Is that correct? I’d have thought Ipswich & Sheffield were better at home. Any stats people out there to confirm?
-
Maybe try £14 admission and kids free for professional 500cc no brakes speedway. The place would be packed……..wouldn’t it?
-
Let us know your master plan or better still put your plan into action and take over the NSS, you’ll make a killing.

Like discussing Belle Vue speedway on a speedway forum. Do you go around the other sport/entertainment forums telling them you’re not going?
-
Must admit I’m old school and just enjoy each individual race. If every race was great and we or the Lions won 75-15 I’d be happy. I know modern fans prefer the gate ‘n’ go with a close score but it just doesn’t do it for me.

Family ticket 2 adults & 2 U16 £45. Have your tea at home before venturing out to the speedway if you don’t like the prices or use the van outside. Fail on your part due to bad planning. Fact.

Is should say, if he feels he can give it a go then he has to wait until his next UK fixture to try it. Trying it abroad will not be tolerated by the UK even if there is a gap of nearly three weeks between fixtures. Give your head a wobble and stop trying to make an issue when one isn’t there. You do know where we now stand in the pecking order don’t you? It’s like the Isle of Wight saying Emil is banned if he doesn’t host the next meat raffle.

Good to see the SCB confirm Brady’s injury and that the paperwork is in order. Now can you stop all this silliness BSF and wish him a speedy recovery.

The (R)Aces won’t get anything away in this gate ‘n’ go league. Still, you got the win so that’s the main thing though I can’t help thinking an entertaining night would get the turnstiles clicking and help you in the long run. Big picture and all that. We all would have spent over £150 on admission, food etc and would visit ten times or more a season with Owlerton being so close, not now.

Source please.

Using the word if indicates that if it isn’t your van then you are not responsible and in control. Is that correct?

With the Jason ruling no rider needs suffer penalty if they are to miss a meeting anymore. Jason‘s mode of transport suffered a technical fault so he couldn’t complete his onward journey. All riders need to do now is say that their mode of transport, a van suffered a technical fault so they couldn’t complete their onward journey.

The boneheaded lot that run this sport have amended a perfectly adequate rule for one that now favours guests. That necessary evil of the sport is being implemented unnecessarily. All this due to the fact they removed the long term injury clause from the 75% rule. Unbelievable! We’ve all seen teams over the years decimated by injury and taking to the track with only one member of the top five in place and rest full of guests. Should this happen at play off time and be long term injuries then the plumb event of the year would be (another) farce. Might not happen you say, don’t run your sport where you implement rules that see you crossing your fingers in the hope you don’t become a laughing stock, I say. The other crazy scenario we now have is riders from Belle Vue and Kings Lynn could get injured in Poland in the same race in August and one team could sign a replacement, the other not. Thank god nobody is watching anymore.

The precedent was set years ago with Collins and Carter.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions

Irrespective of the politics of the sport let’s hope both these riders get well soon so we can see them on a regular basis. Riding through the pain barrier for world championship glory is nothing new, however misguided it may be. -
Birmingham v Ipswich KOC June 3rd

Scores nice and close so it’s a good meeting by UK standards. Fingers crossed for a last heat decider to make it a classic. Not my cup of tea but I’m old school. -
Ipswich Witches 2024 serious team predictions
ouch replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ipswich have been adept at covering Jason in recent fixtures so there’s no reason why they cannot continue doing so. Sure their form will drop but they aren’t going to move from 1st to 5th in 11 weeks. With the rules reverting to those used in 2022 they can then make a signing outside the transfer window due to “long term injury’. Another option is to use a quality rider from the opposition with an assessed average. It’s against the rules but was allowed last year so it’s worth considering. -
Most if not all British track's are prepared the same and made for gaters, pin the throttle and hold the line pretty much, that ain't technical.

Great idea. Even easier for Belle Vue as Mohammed literally comes to the mountain every week with all the kids who play football on our centre green. We need to make the picture of Dan bigger at the front so the kids and parents realise what goes on here.

Belle Vue need to……. Have an advert on local radio over an extended period of time. Have an advert in local newspapers over an extended period of time. Have an advertising board on some of the busiest roads in Manchester. Have posters in shops and businesses. Had out flyers in local shopping areas. Have a float or attend local fairs and carnivals. Attend local trade shows. Give out free tickets to schools and businesses. Take bikes and merchandise into schools to accompany the talk they deliver on the sport. Be featured on local tv news’s 4 or 5 times between March and October. Get hours of live and prerecorded coverage on sports/terrestrial channels Have a regular editorial in local papers. Have a 30 minute highlights programme on a local tv satellite station. Form a tie up with local groups and offer free entry and supporters club membership. Attend (and hopefully win) local sports team of the year awards. Just a start but if they did all that it would be just a case of counting the money - wouldn’t it?
