I only saw the U21 and yes it’s a good example. Plenty of rain leading up to it that would have seen many a meeting cancelled. The young lads that day really got stuck in despite the tricky conditions.

The NSS can take a considerable amount of rain leading up to the event, riders however cannot race if it is raining for the duration of the event, as was forecast, due to the rain making vision impossible. It’s like driving on the motorway in the rain at 70mph without your wipers on.

It’s the maths where you move Max up and everyone moves down, including his team mate. A 5-1 to the lions with Max in second would remain a 5-1. A 5-1 to The Aces with Max last would change to a 3-3, so it plus 2 to the lions not 3. Max would have needed to score a 30 point maximum for the lions to win the tie by 2 points in a last heat decider. It takes a very special rider to do that and the fact Max didn’t shouldn’t see him vilified. Max was absolutely not the reason the lions lost the tie but he was absolutely the reason they were there in the first place.

Spot on. I don’t think league meetings there will see the opposition score 44 or more this year, aside from the self proclaimed league champions elect, that is. I can’t see any other opposing club posting 2 maximums (paid or otherwise) at Leicester as The Aces did last year. You know your speedway. Who knows, if William gets to ride for The Aces for a decent amount of time he will gain the necessary skills to max out at Leicester. Speaking of Max what a brilliant number 1 he is for Leicester following his move from the NSS. 3rd best home rider using SS stats on 10.22 behind Holder 10.32 & Tai 10.27.

Agreed. Aces performances at Ipswich prior to the cup shambles was WWWLLW, one of our better away tracks. Leicester is a happy hunting ground too with a Championship and a Pairs being claimed there. You know your speedway.

There use to be (25%-75%) but it got dropped together with the ability to replace an injured team member after 75% period. Bad move.

Highly entertained fixture in what turned out to be the Cooper Rushden show, what a magnificent performance. Colts over riding at times but it’s all a learning curve and if they do it in this engaging manner I’m happy with my season ticket. It’s disappointing that we can’t get more people along as the price for adults and a load of kids is peanuts and at only a quarter of a second per lap slower than the top lads it’s baffling that so few attend, especially with it being so entertaining.

Jaimon finished 4th in our averages last season and I feel comparing him to Danny (3rd) and Adam (5th) when discussing riders who “can only ride well at home”, is valid. I’d have kept Tom but unfortunately I’m not the team manager. I honestly think ever team in the league would take Jaimon and Norick. Ipswich & Sheffield are maybes where the numbers would have to stack up but the rest, definitely. Norick, as the youngest 1-5 team member at 20 with over 3 years experience in the top division, would have no problem getting a team place. Indeed only last year Kings Lynn asked him to ride for them when he took a guest booking. Speaking of guest bookings, Jaimon top scored at number one for an away team last year (just 9 meetings ago). That team was IPSWICH.

Yes, Charles was no biggie for us in ‘23. The same Charles that has top scored for his new team twice in five days, with one of those being at IPSWICH! Be surprised if we made a switch as since 2019 we have only dropped 1 permanent Ace during the season . We are in fact the only club yet to drop an RS since the scheme began all those years ago.

What baffles me is they have a pop at Jaimon for only being good at the NSS when the difference between his home and away average is less than Adam & Danny’s, using the 2024 stats. The same Adam & Danny produced (supposedly) by the great Ipswich conveyor belt. Jaimon -1.92 Danny -2.04 Adam -2.63 They then go on about Tom with information we already know as we took him from last pick RS to 6+ main team member. He rides five meetings as a witch and all of a sudden they try and claim the glory. It beggars belief. They must know all this so why post if it’s not trolling?

With the amount of guests this league uses the best way of judging performance at home is by using the stats excellently compiled on the BSPL website. 2024 home. Aces 46.82 Witches 48.74 One is higher than the other. Aces must be a team of one track throttle jockeys as they averaged a poor 9.32 less away last season whereas Ipswich brilliantly only averaged 9.24 less away.

Hope Dan is ok and won’t be too troubled by his injury. Great to see The Aces step up so well and fill his pretty large boots. Run of the mill Aces win but with plenty of thrills along the way, more if you use the BSF term for exciting racing as many races saw positions change on bend two whilst jostling for space off the gate. Jaimon was the difference between win and bigger win with a sublime performance. I remember first meeting Jaimon when Mark brought him over to meet us after collecting him from the airport. He looked like a rabbit in the headlights. To see this score from the 4.00 rider we initially signed is so satisfying on many levels. Amazing stuff. I’m liking to look of many of the RS riders this year. Luke looked great as did Ashton last week and to see Dan do so well after graduating from the system, I think things are looking quite rosey for Team GB going forward.

Yes that’s correct, so you hit 75% on 21/7/25. Belle Vue have the least amount of time again to make changes with our cut off being almost four weeks before Ipswich or Oxford.

Thanks for repeating my point about the difficulties teams have from time to time when assembling competitive sides. Glad we could agree. It’s not cool to make fun of those that are struggling with it just because things have worked out for you this time. Your bit about team building over a number of years, I couldn’t have done it better myself. What duration were you using there? Weeks, days or minutes? Classic! Do the same with the current Belle Vue team (I’d do it but if I post facts, facts that are in the public domain the trolls go into meltdown) and compare. For Ellis to be at 4 instead of Cook we would have had to tap him up last season and offer him considerable more money to join us. We wouldn’t do that. Anyway it’s time to go back in your box with the other trolls. When you guys needed to build a competitive team but couldn’t it wasn’t your fault but when the boots on the other foot then any other team is at fault and ripe for snide comments, incredibly biased thinking. The rules allowed you to replace your injured best rider in the league but you didn’t. The rules allowed us to replace the 2nd best rider in the league and we did. What we didn’t subsequently do was berate you for your lack of team building plans as you lot are now doing with Oxford, Birmingham etc. No class.

It’s amazing that when Ipswich needed to sign riders last season “they tried everything but just couldn’t get anyone in”, yet other teams this year “could have built a team as good as the witches but choose not to”.
