  1. “Captain Brady Kurtz, who was ruled out of the Owlerton leg of their bank holiday Monday after feeling the effects of a crash in Poland the previous week, remains sidelined for Wednesday. His rides will be covered by Rider Replacement with each of his ATPI Aces team mates eligible to fill his shoes should he be called upon to do so.” Glad to see The Aces are back to putting out meeting previews in a timely manner. Many thanks to Buster. Least we don’t need to resort to leaking things on social media.
  2. 010.5 FACILITIES h. sick or carrying a non-speedway injury. The rider must immediately inform the SCB and their club. A Medical Certificate must be supplied to the SCB within 48 hours of the sickness/injury occurring in which case the rider will receive a mandatory 7 day suspension of his SCB Registration from the day of the first meeting missed. Other teams riders can do as they please and the forum turns a blind eye. Aces riders do nothing wrong and you get pages and pages of made up poo about bans etc. Trolls!
  3. Alpha bites & wedges guessing. There’s no chicken as it’s participating in the national championship back home.
  4. The way I saw it by the tapes was Jake committed a starting offence when his bike with a faulty clutch pulled him into the tapes when reving, whilst the green light was on. His bike only pulled forward when at max(ish) revs immediately before the tapes were due to rise. This was a starting offence for which he was disqualified. Starting offences are a singular event and nothing from that is carried forward throughout the meeting. Later in the meeting he received a warning for moving at the start resulting in an unsatisfactory start. Nowadays the ref can let the race continue even if he thinks the start was unsatisfactory. The decision on whether to restart a race is if the ref feels such movement impedes other riders. This came in when fans were disgruntled about repeated attempts to start a race. Warnings carry through a meeting and should Jake had moved again it would then be treated as a full on starting offence complete with disqualification.
  5. I’ve edited my post and if anything it emphasises the point I’m making. Thanks.
  6. Anybody who thinks Brady would choose to miss a meeting 30 miles away where four rides and eight points would bag him £3k+ for (as the forum insists) four minutes work is soft in the head. That’s nearly four full weeks wages for most of us.
  7. Ok I went to McDonald’s the other day and I was annoyed at Burger King because they didn’t tell me that McDonald’s chocolate shake maker wasn’t working.
  8. This is true of any UK league rider that participates in foreign leagues. Quite why an Ace is being trolled in this manner is beyond me. It was the same earlier in the season, if Brady does this or if Brady does that then he’ll be banned. He did nothing to be banned for and wasn’t banned but the troll bile keeps flowing. Unbelievable!
  9. They didn’t “go into any great detail” in todays meeting report on the website saying “Brady Kurtz was forced to withdraw still suffering the effects of a crash in Poland a week ago”. As for information prior to the evening meeting. When money speaks, the truth keeps silent.
  10. and the Sheffield promotion who were staging the event and aware of Brady’s wellbeing.
  11. Whilst this forum is well known for the wrong un’s (some officially) or what I use to call scumbags it’s utterly amazing the depths these people will stoop to on a public forum for some peculiar thrill. They go on about riders missing meetings on a whim but when one gives it a go he then continues to get laid into. The lad was in hospital for Christ sake - what the hell is wrong with you. I know he’s an Ace and you love to troll The Aces but this is an unwell human being FFS. Why are Belle Vue and Lemon the only ones being held to account for the publicity surrounding a Sheffield fixture. They run the show and have final say. I’d not be surprised to see The Aces blamed for their pee poor track. Just back off with the tedious trolling of The Aces and try using your brain and attack the correct target. We made sure the information got out there unofficially.
  12. No. I’m saying Belle Vue didn’t get any gate money from the evening fixture.
  13. My Dad sent me this. http://www.sheffield-speedway.com/news.php?extend.3574
  14. Agreed. However Belle Vue didn’t deceive any of their paying customers.
  15. There’s loads of kids who play football at the weekend on the centre green with their parents in tow. They know about speedway but don’t want to go. As I’ve said many times, it’s difficult for us to take being fans of the sport but people don’t like speedway. Must admit, if I came across the sport on TV or social media clips I’d think it was a load of boring poo. If I did happen to attend with any regularity I’d soon stop due to all the cheating that goes on. Before you ask why do I still attend, well it’s in my blood after more than half a century but having said that my attendance has dropped by 80% due to the above.
  16. It’s an easy thing to police. Riders who complete league meetings abroad then give the UK a miss need to be dealt with. You will get the very odd circumstance where a rider aggravates an injury or like Dan has some other accident (he got hit by a car whilst bike riding) but these are easily qualified. The only other issue is for those few not rights who think a rider going for individual glory whilst injured like Kurtz, Collins, Carter etc are a holes and should be banned. Grim.
  17. With speedway updates, BSPL site, Facebook and all the other social media sources, anybody waiting on the Aces official web page (web pages are so last century) for the results (it’s up now and has been for a while) needs to give their head a wobble. My Dads in his late 80’s and knows “the score”. Perhaps I should get this near 90 year old to do a YouTube video of how to efficiently get information from the World Wide Web.
  18. It’s not uncommon for the staging promotion to veto information about missing riders due to the adverse effect it has on their crowds. No club takes more fans to an away track than when The Aces visit Owlerton.
  19. Firstly get well soon Brady. It’s great to see a rider not take the pee out of the sport here in the UK like so many others who will complete foreign league meetings then swerve the UK. Brady’s never done that and will always if possible turn out for the UK fans, similar to Doyle. Must be an Aussie thing.
  20. Dan and Brady were doing the heavy lifting - in front of him. Having a rider whether team mate or opponent in front of you, has a detrimental effect on your average. Not having big hitter team mates means you move up a position in the races you are now in. Case in point, his average has dropped since Freddie joined as he is now behind him in many races. Tom “carried” the team at 5 (not 1) for just four meetings before Freddie’s arrival. The seven meetings prior to this saw him ride in his usual second string role. The devil is indeed in the detail.
  21. Tom has come on “leaps and bounds” since leaving Belle Vue improving his average by an impressive 0.05. His average last year was helped by having a 1 whole month at reserve. In contrast, poor Connor had a terrible season at Belle Vue only improving his average by insignificant 0.22.
  22. Lots of 2 & 4’s so heat 8 & 14. He had quite a few TS thrown against him whilst with The Aces as well.
  23. Aces RS’s (or whatever it was at the time) S.Worrall Bewley Smith Brennan You’re right about Connor, just hope the poor lad can get himself sorted.
  24. Kings Lynn fans….. If Buster closes that’s me lost to the sport as it’s just not the same watching riders that aren’t your own. Kings Lynn fans….. Can’t wait ‘till Wednesday.
