  1. Very true, another instance where the authorities took the proverbial out of The Aces. I think it does more harm than good when you look at the bigger picture. It must give em a thrill or something.
  2. I've been saying this for nearly thirty years but Aces riders need to learn how to gate. It's boring, it's mundane but at least you win. That's modern day speedway.
  3. Aces need to learn how to gate, then they will be fine.
  4. Would like to think The Aces can sneak a point but it will be tough. I'm interested to see how Lawson v Worrall fair as Lawson is head and shoulders above Richie in the averages and this fully vindicates the Hammers decision to ditch Ritchie last year. Just hope Richie remembers the quick way round.
  5. Yes but we didn't know about it 'till years later. Only those involved and Arthur Cross have been in from the get go.
  6. The point I'm making was that Arthur Cross has been watching this process for seven years and not the three oops sorry four years that the rest of us have been aware of it. He must be in the know to be aware of it years before the rest of us. The fact the Aces have been working on it for seven years only became known retrospectively with only a few like Mr Cross being in the know prior to the MEN press release.
  7. I think Authur Cross must be in the know as he had been aware of this project for seven years yet the news only entered the public domain three years ago. The Aces held an event at Gorton Monastry in August 2011 where us not already in the know were given details on the project.
  8. Fair play to them for the press release as getting team information out if some can be a chore. Whenever anything changes no matter how small they keep us informed and that's to be commended. The Ian Thomas type spin can be a bit much for us fans in the know but similar to Kelvin and Nigel's assertions that we're watching great speedway when we know it isn't you have to remember it's also about gathering enthusiasm outside the speedway community. Well done.
  9. More good news along this tortuously tough road. I don't know how they have the patience but fair play to them on continuing to see it through. Maybe when it's done they could set up a task force to get other tracks built. This is the biggest UK speedway development since, well since Hyde Road and being wrapped in the sports village makes it even more complicated to sort. If they can use their expertise on developing speedway stadium to some of the ex teams struggling to find new homes then it's win win for all concerned. Well done.
  10. Be nice to see him back and fit. Don't think The Aces would track him as I can't see his average bring reduced if we wanted to use him.
  11. Makes the unnecessary call off of the earlier fixture seem even more daft now.
  12. Yep see a patten. Aces v Poole, we want it off but officials says it's on. Swindon v Aces, we want it on but officials says it's off. Great being an Ace in't it!
  13. That's the main thing. It's the way it is I'm afraid and shafting number four this year for The Aces, but it's only Belle Vue so nothing will be done. Still another nail in the EL coffin so every cloud and that.
  14. You will always get inconsistent desicions made when The Aces are involved and low and be hold they won't go our way. Quite often taking the chance to get one over us has greater repercussions for the opposing teams future business and the sport as whole but there you go.
  15. Guess that's been answered now. Are well, it was only against The Aces.
  16. Was Ljung really injured for this meeting. The Lions stated "With Peter Ljung still unfit from his crash at Leicester in the match against Eastbourne" The updates site read "Comments: Ljung into airfence bends 1/2 up on his feet but excluded. Airfence been repaired. Ljung completed his last two rides winning one of them. The only racing he missed was the Aces fixture as he took his place in Poland four days later scoring paid eleven.
  17. It was at best a 50/50 incident but with Cook antagonising the officials moments before you could guess who the ref would exclude. Shame as it spoilt a nicely balanced contest and the meeting peated out after that. These things happen unfortunately.
  18. Poole must be the most profession outfit about then as they've said bugger all about Lee Smart.
  19. No. Similar to MPT's 0300 he made the gate in his first and that's all that matters down there. Gate and go. One thing Cook needs to sort is not letting his head drop when bad decisions are made. He seems to dwell on it and it effects his performance. Rise above it mate.
  20. Got lucky, keep head down, say nothing.
  21. Nice to see Cook tell the world about his exclusion rather than keep silent as is the case with folk with something to hide. It also gives others right to reply if they feel the comments about them are out of order. I look forward to that chit chat. Nothing to enthuse about racing wise aside from Pawlicki's acrobatics. Surprised Worrall wasn't exclude when he hit Pawlicki's bike, even though he wasn't on it. Good to see Holder score well as he's not looked the same rider since returning from his horrendous injuries. He might not have another title in him but I think he can compete well in the GP's for a couple more years.
  22. Over as a contest after Ht 6. I didn't think we had number 8's this year?
  23. Wonder when the ref and Ford are having their date night.
