  1. Good for us as we can have Cook at reserve and EDRs use their converted PL average so he'll be just over 6. Good AGM with what looks like the end of self interest. Get in.
  2. The confidence of the cheats. Don't forget to have the parents of your team up to speed on how you do things just incase one of their offspring hits a bad patch. Still can't get over that one and I don't think I ever will, utterly repellant, like anyone who supports such dispicable behaviour. Cheating scumbags.
  3. I know I can't but then I'm a British speedway supporter. I dying breed.
  4. Poppies are popular at the moment. You'd make a fortune for yourself selling them. Go for it.
  5. Be interesting to see where he ends up as a result of this apparent fixing.
  6. If he is going to another EL club it must be in there 1-5 as 6-7 are filled with EDF and the draw is yet to be done.
  7. Belle Vue didn't "break" any rules a few years back but were rightly penalised. It's not just about the rule book as you expect some moral responsibility from competitors, something regrettably lacking at Poole. Newman did break the rules but that doesn't seem to matter to you lot either. What an obnoxious bunch you are.
  8. 20 EL + 10NL + Craven + 2 (maybe) BSPA + 1 (maybe)FIM + 2 (maybe) Play Offs = 35 meetings. That's doubling up already even without rain offs.
  9. Four then, plus us. Thanks for the response, you're the only one that bothered. What's your thoughts on the injury issues when compared to these other sports?
  10. Any chance of a list of sports in answer to my question?
  11. After speaking to a chap at work I need a bit of help from people with a wider sporting knowledge. What sports have a play off system to decide the league winners, that also doesn't offer a cup to the team that tops the table? In these sports is the impact of injury to a member of their team either before or during play off matches greater or lesser than speedway?
  12. I think the big problem is stadium rental as often it's the same if you ride NL or PL and that's why the Aces stopped even thought they paid a lesser rate for NL. We will be starting up again next year, now that obstical has been removed.
  13. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
  14. It is not nessessary, mate The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
  15. Interestingly, the volunteer application form states main race meetings will be Friday or Saturday with practice on Sunday.
  16. Maybe and I'm going a left field here, he raced on regardless of the rule book in the hope of getting away with it. Stranger things have happened.
  17. It certainly is open to debate. I've referenced Kennett and his silencer issues. His defence was that a member of his mechanic team was the cause and this individual then "fell on his sword". It's not without it's merits that Kennett wouldn't have known about the mechanical side of things. One thing riders will be aware of is the rules pertaining to their safety kit. Whilst mechanics don't need to bother about it, it's one thing that the riders will defiantly look after. Newman got to the start and began to have trouble with his faulty goggles. He should have returned to the pits but knew this would have seen him excluded under 2 minutes and incur the disadvantage of a 15m start. Knowing the rules about his safety kit, he decided to ride anyway with an llegal set up safety wise. The lads grown up round Poole and will have seen that cheating gains you an advantage so he consciously took the decision to ride on illegally. He knew he didn't have goggles on and he knew that the rules state that to participate in the race he needed goggles on. It was no accident but a case of not so much gaining an advantage but by disregarding the rule book he dodged a disadvantage.
