  1. THJ was all over the place ........ not my sort of interesting
  2. Josh imo is a very determined rider, let's see where he ends up...
  3. It's all good locally imo, if it gets more punters into the cafe and in turn into the club why not... Poole already have a fish n chip shop which offers a "speedway special" on race nights so this idea just adds to the club's presence in town...
  4. Of course I do, I'm only human lol BUT I try to always remain as positive as I can. I have loved speedway racing for 40 years, I admire the guys who race, who put their life and limb on the line for their job! Only love, sex and rock n roll is better than a great speedway race If only riders were admired, loved and revered as they used to be in the UK, as they currently are in Poland. Instead some of us tend to take them and their talent for speedway for granted, moan and groan, expect more, question and swear about them. There must be some middle ground. Of course we want VFM but we must go to speedway looking forward to the racing, looking forward to cheering our team onto a win, the Polish people do, there is no extra entertainment, no interviews even, it's all about supporting their team, chanting, cheering, flag waving, all the simple things that some of us have forgotten it seems to me. It's odd how our personal change when we take the trip over to Cardiff or the SWC comes to town, we're totally up for supporting our riders and team at these comps. I'm positive about the new season, let's see what's in store, let's start off positive, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
  5. Why not some sort of relationship with an existing coffee shop in Poole, with free sponsorship in the stadium in return, there's already a restaurant I've been into in Poole that has pics of riders in it..
  6. I don't have tunnel vision, that's why I helped start the Supporters Club, I had my ideas about giving the supporters more on race nights and I think we have delivered with pit walks, watching from the centre, having photos with riders and presenting Rider of the Night. We have an extra experience for 2018 which I hope our members will enjoy
  7. The press conferences are a good way to hear what the riders have to say and have a word with them if you want to. The walk back from the start is always a good way for communication between the fans and riders, quite a few of the clubs do this sort of thing now.
  8. So you don't go to support your team, you go to see good racing only? Did you go into the press conferences after the meetings last year? I think if the fans have closer contact with the riders they will support the team more rather than going just for the racing, what do you think?
  9. So it's the enthusiasm of the people who go to watch, this is what Poland has had in abundance for years and what many speedway fans of today had when they were young, it goes hand in hand ..... I've said before that the Polish promoters do nothing special on race night at all but the fans who go are totally up for supporting their team, they make the atmosphere and enjoy their night out .... On the other hand great racing makes a good atmosphere, when you're watching an exciting race you can't help but cheer, whoop or boo lol
  10. I wouldn't say that, good tracks produce good racing. Trouble with our track is the clay content, it is a good track but not all riders fancy it, they don't feel confident imo and that stops them giving 100%. It might not be the only reason that the racing isn't what the fans want to see, maybe riders don't give 100% because they aren't happy with their pay and don't think it deserves 100% effort, who knows? What I do know is that riders must know that fans want to see great racing and if they can't produce it speedway will die. The riders need as much input as anyone imo ....
  11. Can't blame them with the bikes they are on, lives and bodies on the line, they need to feel confident to race properly...
  12. Jack has had the benefit of Chris' knowledge and contacts in every aspect of his career, of course he has the talent but combined, he should do OK.. Robert, on the other hand, has had to do it his own way, with a little help from Woffinden, it seems, this year...
  13. I'd envisaged them as filler meetings during the season, something different from the leagues, individuals and a chance to visit local tracks. Easy to write about, not so easy to organise and promote.....
  14. The confirmations/tickets will be sent out from today, hopefully your friends will consequently have time to book their evening off for January?
  15. Do we think individual area competitions would capture the imagination of the public and press? Call the comp something like UK Speedway Titles or whatever. So, East Anglian Round (KL, Ips, Peterborough, Rye House). Southern Round (Lakeside, Poole, Swindon, Somerset). Midlands (Leicester, Wolverhampton, Scunthorpe, Birmingham). Northern (Belle Vue, Newcastle, Sheffield, Redcar). Scotland and Borders (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Berwick, Workington) So the clubs nominate riders who compete in the club rounds, the top 4 from each area go into the final at Belle Vue. Just a thought.... something I would support for sure...
  16. It was Erik that rode that amazing race round the boards towards the end of last season?
  17. If you have ordered Fans Forum tickets from the club, they are being sent out from Tuesday 19th onwards .....
  18. The men need to get Christmas shopping, planning the Christmas meals, decorating the tree, writing the Christmas cards etc etc, as well as doing days at work, they wouldn't have time to be unduly concerned then haha .......... must be Pick on the Blokes Day haha
  19. Let's concentrate on Christmas then it's full steam ahead, patience is a virtue and all that
  20. You've forgotten the important news within the forum announcement, that supporter numbers are restricted and you need to order a ticket via email .......
  21. RIP Noddy, how sad, he will be missed ...
