The continuing decline of Speedway
Trees replied to wealdstone's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You said yourself the play off mtg last year was only your second mtg of the year, first for a load of your mates did u not? So why did you all turn up then, cos it was a biggie? Were there any double uppers n guests involved in the mtg, no doubt? Did it spoil the mtg or were you just cheering on the guys in red n blue? Everyone loves a play off as there is so much at stake but the clubs have to reach the them via the bread and butter mtgs, no doubling up isn't ideal but something I can put out of my mind when supporting the Stars 100% cos for that 2 hours they are my team, they are giving 100% effort for the Stars! There's nothing we can do about guests, injuries are part of the game, like I say what fan would be happy for a heat leaders' races to be taken by a junior? -
No race stoppages if you fall off!!! Bloody hell m8, that's ridiculous! As far as getting more fans in, the only thing that I think will encourage more fans is handicap racing, every fan wants to see 'racing' and it's just too processional. The riders would hate it (I think) because they are more vulnerable but.......

And there was me thinking it was all good at Ipswich with the promotion doing a great job and the Ipswich fans flocking in! Clearly your Group of mates just want to see the big meetings, that won't keep the club alive! Bloody Ipswich haven't got to worry about doubling up, it's only Premiership clubs with those problems and guests have always been a thing in speedway, no fan would be happy to have an injured heat leader replaced with a number 8 after all etc -
King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Trees replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hmmmm, christ sakes, thanks Denmark, no point getting a BV rider in, who would want to be a British Speedway Premiership manager, hope Dale wants to continue next season, this is no walk in the park eh!! -
King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Trees replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sums it up for many Hopefully people will give a thought to the fact that this year isn't last year, we are in a great position in the league, the team have worked together to get us where we are, if we are to keep our position in the league and get into the playoffs we need these to go ahead, hindsight is a wonderful thing but useless to us now, I the riders will be taking a 50% pay cut for the second meeting, a few of the old moany ones always want more for their money and for this meeting they have it, oh no moan again, too many races now, unbelievable! The management think the first meeting will be over by 2015, half an hour after we used to start meetings so cue an interval and onto the second meeting, over by 10? That's 30 races in 3 hours.... I know there could be falls etc but equally there might not be! -
CLEARLY his hand has been forced, so the least we can do is support him and our club and team??

Adding a 1 week extension onto the cut-off date'
Trees replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Totally and utterly agree, those in charge wl be cutting off their noses to spite their faces if they don't do this, speedway is a sport governed by the weather (and 100 other anomalies, one of the largest being lack of fans, people who WILL turn out for these big, exciting meetings at this sharp end of the season), BTSport know this so will have to understand! -
King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Trees replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yayyyy some positives, at a guess Buster, Robin n Dale wouldn't be putting this double header on without having their hand being forced., ie only way of being able to get the meetings on before the cutoff date. We're in a great position in the league and need more points to keep us there, I'm pretty excited about it all, I'm sorry that some of you don't feel the same! The team are happy and give 100%. Wild horses wouldn't keep me away from the double header woooooooo, so what if I start work at 6 next day lol... COME ON OUR STARS Just want to add: YOU'LL BE A LONG TIME DEAD PEOPLE, our friend Star Fever would've been loving it if he was here, remembering you m8 xx -

King's Lynn v Wolves 22/08/18 DOUBLE HEADER
Trees replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think we can probs blame the Championship promoters who voted against Mondays and Thursdays for this predicament!! I would move the cut off date, the league should be able to run til the end of October after all and after the terrible weather at the start of the season, it makes sense. -
King's Lynn v Belle Vue 08-08-2018
Trees replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I’ve overheard little snippets about Niels’ shoulder (muscles, tendons, ligaments) which apparently is far from 100% like Phil is saying, obviously some tracks are easier to race on than others. He has always been great for Lynn, a scoring machine as Rob Lyon used to call him, I think he deserves our support don’t you? He’s only human after all. -

Only what has been put out by the club, Ty battered and bruised but will race at BV and Thomas has damaged tendons and ligaments in his ankle sustained in the Bomber crash, but is having treatment and will race in the Danish Final at Ebsjerg on Saturday! -
