  1. He is doing it his way, we have had almost weekly press releases this close season about one thing or another, he has continued with the press conferences after meetings and fingers crossed will get them online this year. The Supporters Club Committee and many people involved have had two meetings with him and Dale lately with lots of things being brought up and discussed so let's see what 2019 brings... Re what Jonathan brought to the club years ago, rumours have it that maybe the club couldn't afford his ideas?
  2. I live with an ex fan who still keeps tabs on the sport but who is over it from a live point of view, he doesn't say that Buster or the riders aren't doing the biz anymore, it's the case that speedway just doesn't float his boat enough to go anymore, he aches if he stands for long periods, he doesn't want to burn the candle at both ends, he certainly doesn't blame his non attendance on modern day speedway though, more that he'd stood on the terraces since he was 12, had his idols, supported his team, driven all over the country for speedway with friends and with me but that need to do it has now gone .....
  3. Whatever is done at Lynn I'm not so sure either Haza or you will support the team anymore in person will you? Been there done that, fallen out of love?
  4. Yeah I wouldn't agree with me if I had actually said that Daniel re our track, think I said it is grippier than most british tracks given the clay content .....
  5. You have to go to speedway with the mind set that you're gonna have a good night, yes the promotion and riders certainly have to do their bit, if you're not happy with the show, tell your promoter what you want to see???
  6. It's not all gate and go Mr Pessimist, come off it!! But even if it is a bloody gate and go race, as long as we are on a winner that should be equally important?? Two of our guys gating and team racing for a 5-1 is just as impressive :)? Or team riding to stop the last place rider getting through after someone like Doyle has gated and gone?
  7. I'm 100% sure they will do the track to suit the majority of our racers this year, it's always gripper than probs any other track in the UK because of the clay content. We know they are RACERS so we should be in for a good year of speedway, you can't deny that UP THE STARS WOOOOOOO
  8. I, too, want to see at least 8 passes per race but you only ever see this once in a blue moon EVER. On the other hand I'll be happy to support the Stars giving 100% for our club and themselves, giving us wins and prolonging our season (playoffs). That will be their mentality and they will have worked hard to be the best gater they can, to find the best set ups to be fast round the tracks. I have said for years that the racing needs to be better than it used to be to bring the punters back BUT it's so much easier said than done, bikes have changed (for the worse I think), there's not the money in the sport like years ago (when promoters were rolling in it they could potentially ask their riders to perform for the crowd, they had plenty of money to buy the best shale etc etc). I guess the fact that all the best riders in the world don't want to race here any more makes a difference. So we have what we have and what we have is a great team manager who gets the best out of his team and a team that give their best for their team and so for us as Stars fans, it's a winning game and that's enough for me.... As a comparison with Norwich City football, their players don't mess about on the pitch doing all the fancy footy tricks for the fans they do what they have to do to win against their opponents, their fans support them be it crap, boring football or a 5-4 last minute win cos it's all about winning and going up a league, we ought to have that same mentality.
  9. If you missed Jason Doyle last year at the Tatum and Pearson Night, take a look in 'Speedway News and Discussions' for details of him being special guest at the first FLUX FRIDAY at the AFA on 15th March .....
  10. Local journalist and ex King's Lynn Stars centre green presenter Gavin Caney will be hosting an evening with Jason Doyle on Friday 15th March at 7.30pm at the Adrian Flux Arena at King's Lynn. It will be the first in a series of FLUX FRIDAYS with special guests from the world of motor sport. If you are interested click on the link ...... https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/motorsport/meet-former-speedway-world-champion-jason-doyle/?fbclid=IwAR1Y076BW7ytEQ33IES1T-8mk7gXtEQbNF1pDESaSLcpf4_L4uAQRY-7s4w
  11. We have Robert and Lewi, great to continue to have a team with 2 Norfolk riders in it Who doesn't want to support these two!!!
  12. 100%..... Lewi so deserves a good season!
  13. Every time I see this thread I think, speedway has always been a THING in East Anglia, we are blessed with 4 tracks, it's great, especially now 3 are in the same league
  14. Always the voice of reason Bagpuss, thank you!
  15. We should have some faith in our management imo ......
  16. You need sponsorship from the local radio stations again......
  17. You just can't run fast enough! I wish they'd open that turnstile on the left of the back of the grandstand so us back straighter can walk round easier... even if it's on the stones..
  18. Guests don't always help their rival's cause!!
  19. They know his name now though and may look for it in the results....
  20. Welsh government funding, my goodness....
  21. Doesn't count for much but I think all the riders who are and we think will race for the Stars are capable of upping their averages...
  22. Helped to win two silver medals? Was only bad luck why we didn't win gold?
  23. I guess if Robin has enough fans tell him they dislike the way he announced the 2019 team he may do it differently next year...... he's approachable, do it....
