  1. I wouldn't bother with something like that myself although I used to go to local grasstrack meetings, but yeah it might be the future but at the moment I love supporting my team For those whose team have shut down I appreciate it's not the same anymore ....
  2. But they do, on local radio very regularly, local tv only this week, in local papers, on twitter, instagram and facebook. No they haven't got billboards or wrapped buses but they also haven't got the money that many sports have. We can all play our part on social media, sharing the posts to our followers, it's amazing how many people then see what we share.
  3. I was trying to point you in the right direction and telling you that news/promotion is out there in the newspapers. I don't know if your Wisbech newspaper has ever featured King's Lynn News, maybe not? Speedway promoters can send PRs to loads of newspapers and radio stations but ultimately the editors are the ones who decide whether they want the news on their pages, they are god!
  4. Check out the Lynn News website for news (www.lynnnews.co.uk/sport/speedway/) .....
  5. Oh my goodness, do you not read the EDP, the Lynn News or Your Local Paper (if u live in Lynn)?
  6. They can promote on social media all they like but as we all know, many people aren't interested. Just like football clubs, horse racing tracks, rugby, cricket etc etc etc are of no interest to me. But they have to keep trying.
  7. The same still applies, there are loads of lesser lights that have ridden for Lynn over the years who stayed for years.
  8. Years ago there was loads of money coming in to pay riders very handsomely, it was a piece of cake for promoters, the fans turned up without them doing anything much. Now speedway is so much harder to promote, to be able to afford to promote, modern day British promoters would love the crowds and consequent money that was around in the sport in the past. But imo they are making changes, the current situation is making them think differently. And if course there are certain promoters out there who are setting a standard, giving them all ideas and a kick up the bum lol Yes the sport has changed as travel has changed, even years ago riders went off to make more money where they could, now they have the chance to race for 4 different teams but still many riders stick to the same clubs everywhere, I'm sure we can all name some. They stay where they are happy, if at all possible and if the promoters want them to. Just look at the amount of riders who have ridden for Lynn for years, who have belonged.
  9. Yes!!!!! Maybe the clubs are worried the rivalry might spill over like it did at the latest footy match haha
  10. The fans at a World Final years ago were 100% supporting their fav riders, I can remember feeling so nervous for riders I cared a damn about. I don't remember once worrying about the quality of the racing only that my riders were winning lol. Now, of course, we rarely have that emotional tie because the top boys don't race here.... I guess then fans are seeing the meetings differently....
  11. But he's BRITISH World Champion who nobody gets to see race/ride here, of course this meeting isn't done for much money and of course it's no challenge or test for him, I nev3r said it was, in fact I have said the opposite ...... anyway I won't say anything else on the matter, we'll never agree about Tai.
  12. I wouldn't bring Poole into the conversation lol Just beat the beggars on track, all of us need to do that and get our timing right too!
  13. The BEN FUND meeting is all about raising money for the BEN FUND, I guess the riders race for next to nothing, they use it as a meeting to blow the cobwebs away/have a bit of early season fun/catch up. It would've been an ideal meeting for Tai to ride in imo .........
  14. Robert entertains us all season, Tai could've ridden in the meeting... unless he was racing in Poland...
  15. Robin Brundle tried hard to add to the nights entertainment last year actually even if things didn't work out exactly as he would have liked. So did the Supporters Club. Clubs are not standing still!
  16. Because he's a Brit and maybe he could just make the effort over here for his fans, race instead of talk ...
  17. Not outside featuring dangerous motorbikes on a dirt track ridden by adrenaline fuelled athletes on a week night is it? That's not saying that speedway couldn't improve the presentation but just that it's not so easy .......
  18. Smart but Ipswich have almost got rid of their blue?
  19. 'That boi, our boi' haha, love watching him, if ex fans only come and watch him once this season, I'm sure they won't be disappointed
  20. I can think of quite a few meetings where loads of King's Lynn fans (of all ages) have walked away very happy and satisfied since 2000 Surely you haven't forgotten?
  21. The last time I went to Cardiff I hated it, there were just a handful of riders I gave a damn about as the majority don't race here. A few of the races were good but I need more, an emotional attachment (probs a woman thing lol). I found myself swearing about the guys who don't race here, the organisation of the event, lots of negative stuff lol. I only went because we organised the trip as a supporters club, I won't be going again unless Robert Lambert gets in I guess. My favourite speedway these days is 100% supporting my team.
  22. Because you were younger imo ......... you enjoyed life more, you were up for a good night out, you enjoyed music more etc etc etc
  23. Full nights entertainment? Now who is wearing 'rose coloured glasses'? I guess you are referring to 13 heat meetings and sponsored second halves on Saturday nights? Or are you referring to you and your group of fellow fans sharing youthful, enthusiastic banter about the teams and riders and general life at the time?
  24. Don't buy the Star but just read online that he says there are no hard feelings and if he's needed just call him and he will see what he can do Thanks Niels
  25. Give up Baggy, some just don't/can't /won't read....
