  1. That was pretty good even though the weather intervened, our guys did the biz
  2. It still adds up to one difficult year and chuck the towel in ....... Matt and the fans it seems like ....... what is being asked is whatabout all those great years where the money was rolling in, huge crowds etc, long gone? To be fair I don't think promoters have ever kept monies aside in case of a rainy day ......
  3. You better ask current team managers/promoters if that is how they put their teams together! ie Dale Allitt
  4. You old fart you, there's enough young riders in the meeting to make it a good one, wild horses wouldn't keep me away ...... Love October speedway!
  5. Isn't it funny, in one breath fans say they want the same team from year to year, in another they want rid of long term riders of their club, fickle!
  6. I was disappointed with the racing in the part of the meeting I watched, was better when it rained, I did miss the start of the meeting though, before the track dried out, guess it was better then?
  7. This thread shouldn't be happening until after the play offs, not right! Just support your play off final team, there's the whole close season for saying who you'd keep and wouldn't keep!!!!
  8. Such a shame, this meeting could be THE best with all those young racers going for it but not on that track
  9. I do hope Somerset consider improving their back straight, some terracing would be great, even if it's just dirt terracing ......
  10. Depends when the season starts and finishes, I personally wish it started first week of March and ended last week of October but those days are far behind. Fixture planning is important but even the best intentions may not work out. King's Lynn had lots of home fixtures during the summer hols this year which backfired on us earlier in the year when we had loads of away fixtures in succession which didn't help their form I think personally.
  11. Haha, the Norfolk v Suffolk thing was pretty strong, it used to be quite nasty but it's definitely diluted now ....
  12. OK I'll admit too that it's not like the old days when there was real needle between the Stars and Witches, I mean who can dislike Danny King, Bomber Harris, NKI, James Sargeant, Heeps, it's not like Lanham, Davey, Jolly, Flatman, Louis Snr etc lol I was telling someone I can remember a meeting (in the 80s I think) when the first heat had to be restarted about 5 times as nobody would give an inch on the first bend lol
  13. Clearly that isn't going to happen!
  14. No I didn't, it was Kevin Long Yes, there was only one reason I was there, to see you beat
  15. Why? You're so lucky having an extended season, don't knock it, best time of year for speedway IF it's not raining if course ....
  16. They'd do it if the fans would 100% turn out for it but we don't
  17. Ewww may come to that, a Redcar fan for the day, sorry Leicester ....
  18. It was loud enough where I was standing, helped by me cheering on the Witches as loud as I possibly could, such a pleasure to see your boys beaten fair and square RESULT woooooo
  19. A couple of older fans were saying how they can remember speedway at Ipswich in the 50s on the stock car track! Pity that the speedway track couldn't be adjusted some more, the stocks use the speedway track anyhow as you say, got the perfect sponsor in Truplant to do the work at the moment!
  20. I wouldn't want Tungate, not a good team man is he?
  21. Judging by the big crowd at Ipswich last night, British speedway needs to reclaim Saturday nights, the GP organisers can have Mondays lol
