  1. Does anyone know if any good came out of the boycott, social media platforms haven't got us to sign in quoting our national insurance number yet, that's the only way to make people accountable isn't it?
  2. Having a local team to support, the racing, the online banter, watching it on tv, different clubs to go support your team at, british final of all ages, watching local guys come good, the long term friends and acquaintances within the sport, simply love the press conference after the meetings, local derbies, loving hating Poole lol etc etc
  3. It's not as difficult as some people think eh .....
  4. Is there nobody fans know who could assist them in booking tickets online? That's what I would do rather than miss out .....
  5. No you have to smoke them through your mask mwahahaha.
  6. The differences these days are lack of top riders (chasing the big bucks of course) and lack of screaming, shouting, passionate fans (so many older, cynical, done that, been there, got the t-shirt people, younger people have other pastimes and can't be persuaded to otherwise) ....... Speedway has always been about those 4 guys on their motorcycles trying to win each race or help their team win a meeting. Has any rider got to the tapes and thought, right I'm gonna go for entertainment value in this heat, of course not. The entertainment comes from watching riders trying to pass one another and team riding one another. Obviously the more skilled guys can make this happen so much easier than others ....... We mustn't lose sight of the skill and daring of any rider though, the majority of us wouldn't know where to start!!
  7. Stupid to compare our sport with bledy football with £Ms at their disposal!! If speedway was in the position they are we'd all expect something similar, UNFORTUNATELY it's not!!!!
  8. So there's no Bradford or potential Bradford speedway fans anymore?
  9. Yes just think of all the promoters/stadium owners over the years who have sold their clubs for building projects, the fans never meant much to them ..... The foundations for the future of the sport should've been laid down in the early days when the cash was flowing big time, it wasn't .......
  10. With the lack of riders over here this year I'm not sure what's going to happen if our clubs have lots of injuries. Our promoters try to keep teams as even as poss, the fans want it that way but it may be difficult .....
  11. Exactly, they're the people that the Isle of Wight rely on surely? They need to promote a show/good night out not a league basically. Every promoter needs to strive to "put on a show" around their main meeting. It's easier to do that particularly for the kids on a Sunday afternoon or Saturday evening with no time restrictions .....
  12. What do you mean? The AFA is still in Saddlebow Road .... For me, it's great to even have our sport mentioned in/on The Spectator
  13. Hope there's no worries about the guys in Poland getting back for this one .....
  14. Quite right, I often buy tickets online for older friends/fans ...
  15. No problem Haza, never said there was. Will you be buying one?
  16. What's the latest on the French thing?
  17. I think the allowed capacity will suffice to not mean advance ticketing but we will see .....
  18. There's loads like him, just go to bloody Cardiff cos of the "occasion" tch! Each to their own though ......
  19. IF the intention now is to sell the whole site, announce it now, the fans deserve that surely?
  20. It's up to the new promoters from next year isn't it ........... I'm hoping that they just pick all the best tracks for a smaller series
  21. You haven't been to speedway for a few years have you?
  22. The main thing for me is he manages to help both clubs, we know speedway is in a precarious position in the UK, clubs need all the help they can get. Rob Lyon and Peter Schroek will make sure the teams are fired up to win against each other and every other team, the stuff that goes on behind the scenes is just that "behind the scenes". Don't get me wrong I totally and utterly appreciate Knighty for his work to help the clubs but on race day it's our riders, our team manager and us!!!!
  23. Michael Lee maybe, who knows his stats? Ended up on 9.22 in 76 and 10.64 in 77 so Wikipedia tells me ....
