  1. I suppose one could say that Mark did get badly injured in last years WTC because of BSI/Olsen/Ref, who's decision was it????????????? I don't think Mark alone will make a difference, it will now take other riders to sound off, Crumpy, Adams, Max, Rickardsson and IF Nicki Pedersen (fellow Dane of Olsen) poopoos the format then perhaps summat might be done, won't it???????
  2. I spose he meant looking at the league table ........... Sheffield 21 points from 15 matches and Newcastle 4 points from 10 matches?? Thas going by the BSPA website
  3. Judging by the comments of some of the struggling EL team promotors YES it is too strong. Didn't I read in the Star that one promotor thinks that both the EL and PL need to be weakened. He said that teams in the PL struggle also to be competative, I take it the ones down the bottom of the league?
  4. I, personally mind you, don't give a damn about having speedway in the world's great stadia, give the riders a decent track to race on in proper speedway stadia so I can sit in front of my tv and watch a good proggie that'll do for me Like I say the media, well Sky and C4, have now discovered it and the speedway authorities in the staging countries should be gaining out of it, with the profits being put back into speedway in said countries, to perhaps improve stadia, run training courses, all sorts of things! Now instead, all profits are going to BSI, they have their grubby mits on ALL of the world championship meetings until 2017 thanks to the FIM, not voted for by GB, Sweden and Denmark I hasten to add, but what do those countries matter, they have only kept speedway going since it's introduction into Europe in the 20's!!!!
  5. But now they have discovered speedway it is likely to stay surely? I think speedway should gain from the tv exposure not BSI! The money BSI make from tv rights revenue should go to the speedway authorities for the advancement of speedway, not into their coffers, mind you BSI have made sure that nobody gets their hands on the rights until summat like 2020!!!!!!!
  6. Watched the C4 proggie of the GP yesterday, again Julia was great, the whole programme was good :-) I really wanted to see the start of the final again, Nicki sure did get a rolling start but hey all riders get that little bit of luck at times I spose! Another booboo by said ref!
  7. It wouldn't have to Jive, BSI aren't the be and end all are they???? Now that Sky are involved they would stay involved I'm sure and the promotors in said countries could take all the television revene that BSI are gleaning from the world championship speedway. I would like to think they would put it to a good cause too I have been lead to believe that all the gate money that is taken at the WTC goes to Danish speedway and not to BSI, hope I'm right :? The money doesn't have to be put into Coventry speedway, I'd much prefer Sheffield or even Peterborough altho Bradford would be my first choice, enjoyed the GP from there a few years back.
  8. I hope he goes and the whole thing falls on it's head hehehehe Then I would like to see each country promoting their own GP for the good of speedway in their respective country ON PROPER tracks!
  9. The trouble is the referee has had a stinker, he just goes off and refs another meeting, makes no difference to his career ambitions but the decision has probably cost Tomasz his 2003 crack at becoming World Champion!! Tomasz seems disillusioned with the GP series full stop, especially on these one-off tracks and I really don't blame him, they are crap and dangerous to race on!!!
  10. OK Wizza, apologies to Sky for sure, didn't realise it wasn't their cameraman who did the dirty!!
  11. 3 times they cut back to Crumpy crouching at his van, the cameraman WAS DEFINITELY waiting for a reaction, he got it, hope he was chuffed!!!
  12. OUT IN THE CAR PARK where he thought he would be alone to gather his thoughts and not be hounded by the cameraman!!! Also he has now got 16 points whereas Ricko is on 38!!! Slight difference there. You can't compare one rider with another either, each guy is different!!
  13. He was out in the damn car park wasn't he, why did the cameraman follow him out there, he clearly wanted time on his own, why deny him that, it wasn't fair!! Heyyyyyyy Zetters, I'm coming out to the Semi and Final too with a mate, can't wait, mmmmmmmm, you taking a car??
  14. Crumpy was entitled to be very disappointed, he's now only got 16 GP points compared to Ricko's 38 or whatever it is, slight difference don't you think!!!!!!!! And for the cameraman to keep focusing on the chap whilst he was clearly upset, I'm not surprised at his reaction ............. the speedway world championship is no soap bloody series, altho tv tries to make it out to be at times!! I'm beginning to think that the GP series is putting too much pressure on all these riders, there are so many quality riders out there who have deserved and deserve to be speedway world champion and would have been had we still had the one-off final. The riders have to put everything into these damn GPs to stand a chance. I realise that they would obviously have to put a lot of effort and money into a one-off but not in the same way. The GP's have taken away some of the magic of the World Championship definitely, everyone used to look forward all year to that final but now it's every two weeks!!! If you read in the Speedway Star this week Todd Wiltshire said that he never looks forward to and enjoys a GP like he used to the one-off final. Of course they have been the death nell for all the big individual meetings in GB and also they seem to stop senior test matches etc, which I would love to see, the Ashes, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, could be great stuff!! Ah well thas my opinion, what do you think?
  15. But the GPs are not all about the best riders in the world altho in the main they are there ............ having representatives from all the nations holding a GP comes into it most definitely!! Like Dean Barker said in the Speedway Star this week he thought the GPs were about the best/on form riders which judging by the averages he is this season! I, too, believe that neither Simon or Howey will make an impact BUT I'll be pleased if they prove me wrong! I suppose you could say that they should be able to as the other young riders in the GPs have!!
  16. We have had a few at Lynn over the years, Big Mark in 2000 and 2001 was a sight to behold, anyone who saw him will know what I mean ..... lol Of course it was good to see Rikard Hellsen having a go too, brought back memories.
