THE BIG ONE - Bydgoszcz Grand Prix
Trees replied to Rico's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well whatever he was doing he shouldn't have been IMHO, just not fair on all the rest! Makes absolute total sense to me, doesn't it you??? I just doooooo not know why Ole thinks slick tracks are best. Thas one question I would love answering. Talk to most riders and they think grippy tracks are best, summat wrong somewhere! Now did I say that???????? It produced some good racing BUT NOT AS GOOD AS IT COULD HAVE DONE Gord blast, pass me me blood pressure tablets someone ;-) -
THE BIG ONE - Bydgoszcz Grand Prix
Trees replied to Rico's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thought thas similar to what I put anyhow ;-) The thing is I know Huggy at Lynn can make a track as grippy or as slick as "he" likes, he knows exactly how much shale to put on, how much water, what conditions the weather will create, what the watertable does etc etc, so yeah I think it was Oles decision to make Bydgoszcz like it was. I may sound hung up on track preparation, u're probably right ... lol Thing is it was only Gollob who'd practised on that track day in and day out (near quote by Julia bradbury!) who could go out wide effectively. I must dig out last years GP from there and compare it, i remember last years to be breathtaking whereas imo this years was not. I think as fans we are right to demand good racing for our money, if we keep accepting processions that's what we will get??? -
JASON CRUMP WITHOUT A DOUBT!! Crikey that turned out large!! lol

THE BIG ONE - Bydgoszcz Grand Prix

Sounds about right to me. The racing was good but not as good as it could have been there tonight imo. -
Will Sky Show Grand Prix next week.

Rusky wrote: "i find it quite laughable that the BSPA are up in arms, because the FIM (BSI) have dared to re-arrange the Scandinavian GP, causing mayhem to the BSPA's schedule." I'd bet a tenner that there hasn't been one British meeting called off because of the reason BSI have given for this postponement! Please give an example of an insignificant reason why a British fixture has been rearranged to back up your case. Not that I think laying a crap trap is insignificant but by your posting you are implying that the British promotors rearrange meetings at a whim. They have to take numerous factors into account when arranging matches too! I'm also pretty sure that even if a British promotor does rearrange a fixture he/she has/does take into account other clubs when doing so. It's not so much the fans I am considering here, although I feel sorry for them and I would be hell of an angry to be let down if it was me, but the date of rearrangement and effect it has had on other clubs!!!! Jive wrote: "Just face it that Britain is no longer the no1 place to be for speedway." I have certainly not implied that I think Britain in number one for speedway worldwide but IT IS FOR ME 100% and that's what I want to protect. Watching speedway on the box is not my priority. -
The riders tried to get the GP moved.....
Trees replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He/she wants us to guess obviously. All that is important here is the truth! The riders are held to ransom by all promotors and cannot give their side of the story, or very rarely. Mind you like people say, if you knew what really goes on you wouldn't support speedway ...... ouch! -

So you really don't care then Jive as long as you get your GP fix on TV, oh dear, how sad! -

Dead right SL. It's a pity that all British Speedway fans can't see the bigger picture. OK so it's good to watch the top riders racing against one another for the World Championship BUT NOT at the expense of our leagues. I still think it would have been possible to restage the meeting on Sunday at a permanent swedish track, all the equipment and riders and fans were there. But BSI wouldn't do that because half their sponsors are the Polish arm of the big companies and they know they wouldn't have been happy with all the top riders out of their Polish League meetings. BUT they had no hesitation restaging it next Saturday when it hits BRITISH RACING big time!! Surely no british fan can disagree that there is something wrong with their decision?? We await their press release tomorrow, surely they will cancel the event completely or hold it on a mutually agreed date with the world leagues? -
Will Middlo step down??
Trees replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Of course Middlo should get another term in office ................. I for one look forward to all TeamGB matches in 2004, let's hope there's a few more of them -
As long as the promotors money is at stake I don't think they will want to give over the reigns to a single individual. When the sport is so up and down in the popularity stakes their job is made so much more difficult. If only speedway could attract thousands more fans and sponsors then their problems would be solved.

The damned track was dangerous imo, look at it from a rider's point of view .................

The boys done us proud!!!
Trees replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
My m8 and I were out in Denmark for the race-off and WTC final and we were 100% proud of our British team. Their performances at Outrup were especially satisfying, it was wonderful to have the upper edge, as we did last year at Sheffield, and it was only the skill/engine set up/experience (pick which ya like) of Leigh Adams and Jason Crump (2 of the top 5 riders in the WORLD) in the last 2 races that stopped us winning. It was also touching for us fans that the whole team threw their bouquets, after the presentation, to the contingent of british supporters. We were all out there to support "our" team and it was brilliant to be recognised by them in that way Onto the final at Vojens, had a word with Middlo before the meeting and he said the guys were all well up to do a good job, there was no doubting their passion, will and determination. Although the result defied their effort, the spirit of the team can only take TeamGB onto bigger and better results. Here's to them all and here's to TeamGB 2004!!!! Thanks. -
Vojens most definitely was a DISGRACE track wise. Ruts all over the place. It was such a shame because like the one-off GP tracks the riders could not take the lines they really wanted. It would be interesting to hear from someone in the know just why the most important track of the series broke up like it did, obviously the track curators made mistakes .................. I'll just blame Ole!

Floppy makes the squad
Trees replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well chuffed with Floppy's performance, he certainly never let anyone down! The whole team did us proud tonight, here's to the race-off .......... good luck TeamGB!!!!! -
The World Cup - Predictions
Trees replied to Jive's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
ANYBODY but the danes   Australia I guess, who else has 5 GP riders in their team!!!! I, too, hope TeamGB get through to final beings I will be there cheering them on hehehehehe -
Should be Stoney and Screeny I would have thought?

It's soooooooo difficult for us fans to suggest stuff when we don't know the finances. We can only say what we would like to see. I hope that the leagues are disbanded completely and new leagues put into place. There aren't enough teams that want to compete in an Elite League so it has to be 1st and 2nd division. How they can include the GP boys I do not know because PL clubs put the GP riders down as one of their main reasons not to join the EL. Maybe they would agree to 1 per team if wanted? I am concerned that the PL promotors want nothing to do with EL promotors so won't play ball at all, if they can't work together, gord knows what's going to happen! Such bad history (it seems) between the two cannot be forgotten, this happens in many walks of life. Let's hope they can wipe the slates clean SOMEHOW and come up with a new set up they will all be happy with!!!!! We live in much hope!! Us fans are helpless really, our sport is in the hands of these guys, it's up to them to sort it out for us, they owe us that!!!!! One of the most important criteria for fans is to have a reliable regular fixture list for each team, it's not too much to ask is it?

Floppy makes the squad
Trees replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Middlo has picked these riders because he thinks they are the best ones to ride Outrup which has been reported to be a small, slick track. These guys can all gate and that is imperative on a track like that? -
Floppy makes the squad
Trees replied to Vincent Vega's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If Outrup is a small slick track it could well suit Floppy as he has been gating well this season whenever I have seen him, the pressure is on them all, let's hope luck is on our side in Denmark :-) I hope they can find some good set ups from race one. -
Middlo obviously has persuasive powers If only for team back up it's good for Mark to be included don't ya think?

Lukas Dryml Injury
Trees replied to Chris Brown's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I thought it was sick to keep showing the crash on the night when most folk thought the guy was VERY seriously injured. I'd definitely agree they should NOT use it in their credits, instead by the authorities to maybe damn the airfences on the straights!!! Glad they never showed Crumpy after he ran out of fuel, not much has been said about this, who does actually have responsibility to refuel bikes at the GP's??? -
Loram to miss World Cup?
Trees replied to Peter's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Under pressure I guess ML? Would have to ask about that one. -
Only Loram :x

What was I saying on the other thread ..................... Mock ........... lol ................... pot kettle black!!!!!!!!!!!! As for Norris, if he thinks he can do a job and wants to go badly then why not, who knows, if he can gate in Denmark like he gates at some tracks then ..............
