  1. Was that the great Bydgoszcz GP, since then hasn't the track been slicker? Silly old Ole.
  2. Naughties? As far as crowd figures go most EL promos say they need approx 1300 fans to break even so I guess they get that as they keep coming back for more
  3. Yes we noticed your shorthand pencil was kept busy, look forward to the report! Don't forget ex promoter Brian Griffin was there also.
  4. Got ours Oh and that pic of Tony Davey's leg ohhhhhhh nasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anything that will make the "racing" better gets my vote, that's where speedway needs to improve imo All fans need to come away from a meeting buzzzzzzing and wanting to tell the world what they have just witnessed!!!!!!!

WRONG, a Peter Storm fleece if you don't mind, 5 or 6 years old at that, still got yellow/green anorak in the wardrobe though, just can't part with it My poor old crotchety husband happened to comment this afternoon about how many cycle speedways there used to be and how many youngsters progressed from cycle to motorcycle speedway, perhaps if a few new cycle speedway tracks were born more youngsters would get involved with the then natural interest in motorcycle speedway?
  7. I sincerely hope this year will be Leigh's year, with Crumpy second (he can have the title next year again ) I, too, would like to see Tomasz Gollob up in the top 3 also.
  8. Riders I haved loved watching over the years: Michael Lee Leigh Adams Mark Loram Jason Crump Henka Gustaffson Shawn Moran Hans Nielsen/Bruce Penhall/Sigalos/Rickardsson Almost an impossible task
  9. Glad it's at Coventry, much more central, I do hope the track is well prepared though. I guess we all need to attend this one to help pay BSI's fee!!!!!! Bloody swizz!!
  10. Received mine today having suscribed the other day, first impressions (quick flick through), loved the picture on the back of Bettsey and Tommy Jansson, brilliant. Im indoors has collared it but I can't wait to read Crumpy senior and junior articles. Great magazine!! Thank youuuuuuuuu
  11. I ordered my book ................. AT LAST and subscribed to Backtrack the other day. Can't wait to receive both!!!
  12. Hey Jim, I'd suggest an item in the Norwich Evening News and Eastern Daily Press would bring you lots of input. www.eveningnews24.co.uk or www.edp24.co.uk
  13. I know you didn't, that's why I asked. I am interested to know if Eskilstuna are paying BSI for the privilege or the other way round. Doesn't it interest you? I know it didn't Rico. I certainly didn't "twist" the wording for my own purposes I was asking a simple question re the contract. Like you say the details will probably not be available to the general public, I'm interested all the same though. I guess the swedes are prudent enough to benefit from the deal.
  14. So you're saying that BSI have paid Eskilstuna a fee for using their track for 3 years? Wonder if the Eskilstuna bosses have said they'd like a percentage from the tv revenue from that particular GP?
  15. If it weren't for wanting to see how Crumpy, Adams and the brits were progressing throughout the series I probably wouldn't have bothered to watch the series live. With the rounds every two weeks it was a matter of, oh there's another GP on tv this Saturday. They have become much too run of the mill, there's too many of them to make them special to watch anymore. Like I say if it wasn't for following my fav riders on the road to becoming World Champion they wouldn't have held my interest at all.
  16. Just a misspelling, should have read Mrs I'm sure Easy Rider eh, it was impressive must admit!
  17. I was interested to read PC's answer to what he thought about One-off World Finals as opposed to the GP series. His quote about Ole Olsen seems a little poignant given my view of the GPs. What do others think?
  18. As did my husband, who was a huge fan of Anders and not such a huge fan of PC.
  19. It's needed too isn't it to be able to afford to run in the GP's??
  20. Got off the subject of the thread here a little It's obvious that Ice blooming Hockey attracts larger crowds than speedway hence the larger pay packets. Having said that, there is more money to be had from the product and it seems that BSI is pocketing it all, right or wrong. The FIM sold out to them and unless the crowds go down dramatically at GP's I guess they are on board for the foreseeable future. The FIM were so wrong to sell out, think we all agree with that??
