Grand Prix Wrocław

Aren't all top meetings like that when the grip is on the inside? I suppose I was a bit indifferent about it apart from a few races, probably because there are loads of riders in it now that I couldn't care less about, I'm getting old I guess LOL Obviously I agree Rickardsson was head and shoulders above, as Leigh said he's got something FAST under him. We'll see if this new Penske frame is going to make all the difference to his racing over the next few rounds, will be interesting! Was well pleased for Adams in his semi, perhaps Blomfeldt will make the difference to his set ups this season, sure hope that Rickardsson's new found GP form doesn't pee on the matches tho Crumpy deserved to get into the final of course following Pedersen "move over" on him, damned bloke, what's he gonna start all that race the man rather than the race again???? Checking out the starting gate before the presentation, perhaps Jason thought he chose the wrong gate, ah well not a bad start to his defence eh! His move on Lindback was pretty hard, he had to go for it tho, glad Lindback didn't come a cropper, -
What a coincidence, he's signed for Oxford apparently so that interview may be easier to get now! lol

Have just sat watching an Henka Gustaffson Special MBI video from 1990, 91 & 92. Henka was fantastic, couldn't gate and was such a natural speedway rider, I'd forgot just how good he was at Lynn, Wimbledon, Eastbourne, Bradford ........ I'm only half way through the video! His passes from the back were brilliant, I'm sure he missed the gate so he could thrill the crowd, stalking his opponents for 3 laps, leaving his pass to the last bend!! Wow! He'll remain a legend at Lynn forever, I feel sorry for any fan that missed him! Any chance of an interview with him?

Just read Leigh Adams thoughts re the 2005 GP series on his website, www.leighadams.com. He says he's "prepared to get down and dirty if that's what it takes to win this damn thing!" Nothing in the GP's would give me more pleasure than to see Leigh realise his goal, now that Crumpy has got his win. VERY MUCH looking forward to the series!!!

No winked at actually How do they work it in production bike racing?
-
cpbyles - sarcasm is the lowest form of wit On the face of it standard engines seems the way to go to lower costs for the riders, trouble is not all standard engines perform the same which will obviously cause problems within a team. Could a rider make enough adjustments to the bike to suit his style of racing if the engine was standard?

What was Barry Briggs argument against handicapping at the time? I probably have a good idea but just wondered what he said. On the face of it it is unfair that the top boys should be handicapped but for the sake of the popularity of the sport it would be grrrrrrreat. Perhaps if there was another "Big 5" for example they could be billed and sponsored as something very special, which indeed they are/would be! I say this as though sponsorship is easy to come by, but with tv involved it might be possible?
-
Heyyyyyy isn't that exactly what we ALL WANT!!?
-
Blimey I think I have cracked it, THE WAY TO MAKE SPEEDWAY MORE POPULAR, not so sure the riders will be very chuffed mind
-
Certainly not the saviour of british speedway but I'd love to see a meeting of handicap racing. I realise it would be more dangerous but put the safest, most skilled riders in the country out there and how thrilling it would be for the fans
-
And Richard Bothway Howard lives in my village. I didn't realise he'd done quite so much research on George!
-
Yeah but he was still in his 21st year PC was the youngest, I wonder if anyone will beat his record, I have my doubts.
-
Nah he would have been 22 in the December. He was summat like 21 and 268 days
-
I thought Mike was something like 21, will have to find out when his birthday is.
-
Tsunami .............. I'd like to see it tried out, same as I would a match with all the riders on standard jawas ........... the jawa challenge, oops or the GM challenge (sorry Trevor! lol).
-
Yeah have thought of that, must be some way of getting round it though, have to get me calculator out!
-
Having more races in league matches with all the top boys, second strings and reserves racing one another, would this make for more exciting racing in your opinion? I think it would For instance: Ht 1 1 5 1 5 Ht 2 6 7 6 7 Ht 3 2 4 2 4 Ht 4 3 5 3 5 Ht 5 2 6 2 6 Ht 6 1 7 1 7 Or summat similar, get my drift?

Just a little something that "could" help: If the BSPA could persuade local BBC radio stations to report on speedway country wide instead of just their own local speedway that would be great for us all! The fans could help with this one by emailing their radio stations and asking questions about results etc etc
