  1. Really disappointed about Floppy. Bomber was annoyed that he hadn't got his chance in the WTC, now he's got it, hope he siezes the opportunity with both hands, we need him to for sure!!!!
  2. I hope you're right, would love to see him do just that, will always have a soft spot for him, Lynn being his first ever british team
  3. Quote Millard: Nicki now known as the Laxative Man! I don't believe you typed that SL, I think Nicki now spoils the heats he is in because the riders can't ride how they really want to for fear of being knocked flying! Thought I'd already typed this but congrats to Tony, he's not playing on a particularly level playing field this season but he himself has tilted it in his direction so what can you say! As he said, thanks to his Penske friends in England ........................ he's got all of Sweden and now English engineers on his side!!!!! As far as the GP's are concerned I think if they change the scoring system then it will be better, oh yeah and cut the number of GP's to 6 so they are all special rather than just another meeting, they certainly aren't keeping all my younger family members interested! Funny how the Poole fans are claiming Trick as one of their own, I'd have thought the Ipswich fans have more right than them
  4. These guys definitely need loads of back up and loads of money thrown at them (used wisely!) to make it to the top, le's hope they have the racing/mechanical brain and dedication needed to win the world championship in the future!
  5. I see on the SKYSPORTS website that Nigel Pearson has added his voice to the current "by invitation only" situation in the GPs, saying there should be some sort of qualifying system in place as it is discrediting the world championship. Trouble is that means more blinking dates out of the league calendar for dear old BSI!
  6. You are so right sjw. How can anyone compare the two, what with the advances in the sport from Ivan's day to now, who knows what Ivan would have won if he'd been riding these days same if Tony was riding back then. They were/are greats of their time as Fundin was a few years further back and Nielsen in the 80's.
  7. Look forward to Michael Lee's interview, such a favourite in my early days at speedway, it annoys the hell out of me that his career was blighted, he was such a fantastic speedway rider I also wish I had been older to really appreciate his skill at the time. My husband remembers Michael at the age of 14 practising round Saddlebow Road, how he used to try all sorts of lines round the track, he was such a natural! But the amount of food poisoning he had during the latter days of his time at Lynn was unbelievable .......... silly article!
  8. I guess they want to stage it in the "american way", now that would be interesting, I bet Ermolenko is involved in this idea I wonder what track they have in mind??
  9. How can you say who is the best when they raced in differing eras, it's impossible!
  10. Yeah summat like that, they try engines from different tuners to see how they go I suppose?
  11. Why isn't Tony revealing his tuner? Or are there other riders down as TBC?
  12. I haven't got a blinking clue AndyM but IF this is the way Tony has gone to have a company like Penske developing engines for you with all their knowledge you're on to a winner!
  13. Perhaps Penske are involved with his engines too like Bernie has already said. I suppose it's the same company, I've just read that "According to one engineman the open Penske motors could now be pulling as much as 30 hp more than their Ford motors." If they are doing this with NASCAR engines, surely they could do it with simple speedway engines? IF this is the case then looks as though he has certainly upped the anti!!
  14. That's very true, well BSI have almost taken it back to the 45 year format, next tweek no semis and final just add all the meetings points up to find the champ, the fairest format of all! I'd make that (without tonights points) TR - 62, NP - 51, JC - 49, LA - 45, GH - 43, AL - 37 ......... a much more closer championship!! TBC or so it said in the Cardiff proggie apparently, wonder if it was TBC in the Copenhagen programme ......... anyone??
  15. I, too, like the new format, it's better for the riders and every point/placing IS important. It's certainly looking like Tony's year if nothing untoward happens to him, hats off to him I suppose. He's on tip top form that's all you can say.
  16. What a shame we don't have something similar to the cricket Ashes in speedway.
  17. We don't want anything stage managed tho, if Trick is the best rider this year so be it!
  18. Oh Bryn, it's a woman's perogative to give constructive critisism, if we didn't nothing would ever improve!!!!!!!!!! Starlady spent her hard earnt dosh on watching the meeting so is entitled!
  19. OK, I'll pop in a few commas, they won't have the support of the british fans, as they would, if they rode over here! Perhaps adding "same" before support would help. Pretty obvious really I thought ........... perhaps it's because you're "just a bloke" that you don't understand?
  20. Offer ............ thought he was asked to and "it fitted in with his plan"? Yes, of course! They won't have the support of the british fans as they would if they rode over here!
  21. Most are so p**sed up that they don't know if there was decent racing, controversial decisions, unfair tactics or what!!
  22. "King Trick" was lucky that he stayed on in the final, he certainly didn't plan to do what he did for gords sake! Yes I agree he has had that something "extra" over the last 10 years in world championship meetings. I will never forget that in 1999 when he rode for King's Lynn, Leigh Adams was the master, not him, ask any Lynn fan!!
  23. You watch the video again, he didn't bash it at all, just swung it round in frustration and handed it to the mechanic. You think he fell on purpose to take Nicki down, I think not!!! On the tv coverage he seemed to be looking to see if they were ok before walking away, mind you if he had other thoughts in his mind when looking at Nicki, it's understandable.
