  1. What the majority of the british promotions lack is the equipment. The swedish tracks have different material on don't they, I guess that makes a difference too. Totally agree with everyone it was a good meeting and I, too, was pleased to see Crumpy come out on top Special mention must go to Andreas Jonsson who had a terrific meeting and Leigh Adams for fighting his corner all the way and getting into the final
  2. Nicki and Tomas have had some real hard battles lately, neither giving an inch. They were both gunning into the bend, neither was going to give but both needed to turn. Perhaps Nicki left it a little too late to turn so Tomas either turned with him or went sliding into the fence anyhow,in the sludge. Decision could have gone either way. As for the tapes incident, it was clear that the inside two riders were impeded in the replay so why wasn't the heat run again after it had finished? Surely that's the beauty of replays?
  3. I meant to comment on what a great place Wroclaw was with it's squares (along with eateries, bars and outside entertainment), shopping centre, cheap transport, historic buildings (Panorama von Raclawice was very impressive), ice cream parlour and classy but cheap hotels. I even tried the piwo, Piast anyone! and apart from the black bits floating on top it was ok, liked the polish blackcurrant juice best mind Found the Polish people pretty friendly, especially the speedway fans, although had a little trouble being understood by those in the train station grrrrrr. The tram journey back to the hotel after the final was loud to say the least hehehe. And how patriotic they were, singing out Polska, their national anthem and thank you to the riders after the win, brought a lump to my throat, how I wanted it to be us brits, one day eh Most unusual thing I noticed was how the Polish people love their whole sunflower seeds, the mess left behind at their feet at the stadium was incredible LOL, I wondered why nearly every allotment/garden/field had sunflowers growing in them!
  4. Would LOVE to see the WTC at Sheffield again and King's Lynn if poss. Can people remember how impressive Lee was at Sheffield in 2002. Would like to see the two qualifiers in Britain and the race off and final in Sweden.
  5. Following the Poles race-off performance, most felt the final was a foregone conclusion and so it turned out. Our boys gave it a good shot and had luck been on our side a podium place. The polish riders and after experiencing the obvious pride and patriotism of the polish people, fully deserved their win, congratulations to them.
  6. Lee did great and certainly received some of the biggest cheers of the night from the british contingent but as he said his performance didn't mean much as TeamGB as a team didn't manage to get on the rostrum. I'd say that with a little luck they could have, a couple of heave ho's from rivals and Scott's joker set back and we would have been right amongst them. But then it's all ifs and maybes and over until next year The team didn't get a medal but they gave it 100% which was very good to watch. The youngsters certainly didn't disgrace themselves and with more practice on international tracks they'll be up for the count!
  7. It's two from the race off tho isn't it, sincerely hope the aussies get the last spot and not Denmark .......... not forgetting Czecho! Heat 25 was a great race, thanks to some great riders!
  8. Not going to sit down in the grandstand? lol
  9. Talking about Tomas, was good to see him get the win in his final race, as it didn't affect us you understand
  10. Excuses, being ill, wanted sympathy, home track advantage, knocking Loram off ............. there's no doubting he rode bloody well for the maximum and the TeamGB cause!
  11. Against my better judgement I am watching from afar ............. COME ON TEAMGB
  12. Well I got the logic, it woman's logic 6000 x £10 = £60,000 with 100,000 watching at home 3000 x £22 = £66,000 with 103,000 watching at home There you have it
  13. Oh I thought that was something to do with him having short legs!
  14. Hope Lee gets over whatever is making him feel ill, ready for tomorrow!! GO LEE!
  15. And it's nothing to do with the BSPA this time, REMEMBER it's a BSI run meeting! Perhaps they've hiked the price because they don't expect a huge crowd, what was the supposed attendance in the equivalent meeting last season at Eastbourne? I went to that meeting, I'll be blowed if I can remember what I paid to get in tho ........... Can't really count that tho, it's only £8 because of our exchange rate. It's a tenner in the seating area for the race off and £20 for a seat for the final.
  16. Very stylish, he rode King's Lynn well too!
  17. I feel his days are numbered, he cannot carry on like he is, someone will have him and if they do most people will think that he had it coming! Change your ways now Nicki, your not fair, you're given an inch and you take a mile!!
  18. The fact that he comes down to Norfolk for the speedway reunions surely shows how special hs club/fans were to him?
  19. Really disappointed about Floppy. Bomber was annoyed that he hadn't got his chance in the WTC, now he's got it, hope he siezes the opportunity with both hands, we need him to for sure!!!!
  20. I hope you're right, would love to see him do just that, will always have a soft spot for him, Lynn being his first ever british team
  21. Quote Millard: Nicki now known as the Laxative Man! I don't believe you typed that SL, I think Nicki now spoils the heats he is in because the riders can't ride how they really want to for fear of being knocked flying! Thought I'd already typed this but congrats to Tony, he's not playing on a particularly level playing field this season but he himself has tilted it in his direction so what can you say! As he said, thanks to his Penske friends in England ........................ he's got all of Sweden and now English engineers on his side!!!!! As far as the GP's are concerned I think if they change the scoring system then it will be better, oh yeah and cut the number of GP's to 6 so they are all special rather than just another meeting, they certainly aren't keeping all my younger family members interested! Funny how the Poole fans are claiming Trick as one of their own, I'd have thought the Ipswich fans have more right than them
  22. These guys definitely need loads of back up and loads of money thrown at them (used wisely!) to make it to the top, le's hope they have the racing/mechanical brain and dedication needed to win the world championship in the future!
  23. I see on the SKYSPORTS website that Nigel Pearson has added his voice to the current "by invitation only" situation in the GPs, saying there should be some sort of qualifying system in place as it is discrediting the world championship. Trouble is that means more blinking dates out of the league calendar for dear old BSI!
