  1. My vote goes to KING'S LYNN for obvious reasons
  2. With the rest of the body colour filled up by sponsors names, it's the name of the game now.

    Leathers

Jim - Frigbo beat me to naming them all, I could though ........... owwwwww wish I had a time machine ............ lol Thanks for posting them tho, blinking great!
  4. Has anyone got any idea what happened to the George Formby Trophy that was apparently raced for at some point at Norwich speedway. This was a query in my local newspaper today, the guy, who lives in my village, is a huge Formby fan and would like to get his hands on the trophy I think Any info would be much appreciated I'm sure!

    Leathers

A few of the King's Lynn riders had them when I started going in the late seventies. I can also remember a team photo where the riders were all wearing a yellow footie shirt outside their leathers with the race bib over the top I think ............... some people think these shirts are a new phenomenon!
  6. My first meeting was in 77 also, King's Lynn Stars v ................. but I can't remember who it was, wish I could turn the clock back and really appreciate the riders I was watching back then!
  7. I'd like to bet that if Mark Loram was in the GP's and made a decent start to the season the british fans would not be disappointed! The bloke ain't that bloody old and remains one of the most popular if not THE most popular british rider ever!
  8. Oright HenryW aka The Fonz ............... yes Jason did what he could to help Leigh on his way, and why not, isn't that what fellow compatriots are all about
  9. Yes Jason was keeping an eye out but Leigh did it under his own steam, no way would Nicholls have passed him at any point!
  10. Experience counts for a lot over the series though, I feel this is why the younger generation are not overhauling the established guys as yet.
  11. At last ............ he's achieved his rostrum place, well done that man, onwards and upwards!!!
  12. Well I'm happy as far as the standings go but it ain't too much to ask surely, especially as the tennis over ran in the first place. I guess speedway is just not up there with the likes of superbikes or grand prix motor racing where we always watch the champers being sprayed about
  13. We love your speedway coverage SKY but can you please extend the show to cover the rostrum presentations, especially that of the World Numbers 1, 2 and 3 after a GP season, thank you!
  14. Bloody h*ll ................ why no rostrum coverage, we had to suffer the bleeding tennis overun then no celebrations, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  15. My Backtrack arrived this morning, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Michael's interview, thanks Must get some footage of him racing at Lynn, rekindle the memory bank
  16. Not a record Jason necessarily wants to break .... lol
  17. Seems the fans aren't the only ones who think Bydgoszcz could be better! This is a quote of Leigh Adams from www.crash.net/speedway/home ..............
  18. Lee was great at Wroclaw and carried on in Bydgoszcz. I'd like to know if he was on the same bike he used in Wroclaw. Very well done to him Peed off that Leigh didn't make the final, after riding so well, he's got to have a better one in Italy than Pedersen to get his third, come on Leigh!!!!!!!!! Crump sneaked into the final with thanks I guess to Pedersen riding his man again (that's not very clever Nicki ) Congratulations to Mr Gollob, loved his victory parade, very clever!!
  19. The fans always look forward to the Bydgoszcz GP, or should I say used to look forward, because it was always an absolutely fabulous meeting, racing wise. Now the track is slicker, it's still a good meeting but not as good as it should/could be, it's not a superb meeting anymore!!! SO ANNOYING ............. question is, why isn't the track prepared like it used to be????????
  20. I remember when he first rode for the witches, Henka Gustaffson outrode him at Lynn every time, unfortunately Henka didn't have the same dedication as Tony.
  21. LOL Presenter, Joe's racing tho, testimonial ever present
  22. Yes it will be congratulations to Rickardsson tonight, although I'm indifferent about his achievement, as I was for Ivan Mauger too LOL ............ neither of them were/are favourites. A small ripple of applause will have to suffice.
  23. Need to have a qualifying meetings! This invitational idea is unfair!
