  1. So is Tomasz Gollob going to ride or was it wishful thinking from Planet Speedway?
  2. haha so I've heard, good old Leigh ....... he gave as good as he got apparently?? Save some of that aggression for the GP's too!! A very brave move by Pedersen around Scotty too, brave or crazy??? Good to watch nevertheless eh? I take it someone videod it??
  3. I'd have to shave too, that's no good What with Honie and his london accent and us two, broad norfolk (ok, me broad norfolk ) .............. you'd regret it Mike!!
  4. Hope they've had time to build the bike in between throwing snowballs!!
  5. OK, sorry about that ......... Brief report of Saturday's long track meeting is hereunder. Overall plenty of close, exciting racing, not a huge crowd - plenty else on in Wagga on the weekend and there was light rain during the afternoon. Lee Herne became the fifth different winner in as many years when he won the final of the long track slider class at the 2006 Riverina Long Track Cup at the Wagga Wagga Showground on February 25. Five riders always stood out and they turned on some great action through the three rounds of heats and final. Cory Gathercole (1,1,2) was top qualifier, despite losing to Daniel Mason (2,3,1) while Herne (2,2,1) and Jason Stewart (3,1,2) were the other stand-outs going into the final. Unfortunately defending champion Luke Gough (1,2) damaged his bike in a starting line scrimmage in the third round and Anthony Dall (4,3) was similarly affected and neither were able to contest the final. Herne set the pace in the final and seemed to have a real battle on his hands as Gathercole loomed starting the last lap but the Mildura teenager could not carry on with his impressive charge from fourth that put him ahead of Mason and Stewart, while Matt Jones (5,5,3) , Daine Stevens (3,4,5), Quentan Byrne (6,5,4) and Elliott Myers (6,6,4) were the other finishers. Trevor Baker (1,1,2,1) took the honours in the classic slider class ahead of first time visitor from Adelaide Seane Chapman (3,2,1,2), Chris Potts (2,3,3,4) and Peter Drury (4,4,4,3). Some names well known to speedway regulars had success in other classes on the big program. Luke Gough did have some consolation with a clean sweep of his three heats and the final of the up to 450cc 4-stroke class, while Jamie Plumb beat Jason Stewart for honours over the four rounds of the over 450cc 4-stroke class. Tim Heffernan was placed second and involved in several of the best races as he tried, unsuccessfully, to lower the colours of Darren Herrick in the 250 cc 2-stroke class. Herrick also cleaned up in the 500cc FTX class. The Harley / Twin Cylinder class was again exciting with Rodney Anderson edging out Anthony Davies and Jack Stevens. Tom Armstrong grabbed third in the 125cc class behind Josh Waters, who also won the 250cc 4-stroke class. The 2006 Australian Long Track Championship meeting will be held at the Wagga Wagga Showground on November 25.
  6. Try this link, more details here ........ http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/speedway/message/130749
  7. As, what is his title, president, of the BSPA If he did all the negotiations then I guess he was entitled to take his cut, he's put a good bit back into the sport too, he's not all bad is he??? No it certainly isn't! I really like the WTC competition, can't cut off my nose to spite my face for the race off and final at Reading IF it's held there
  8. The BSPA did the deal with SKY to show EL of course, nowt to do with BSI. It's league racing that really counts ..........
  9. Henka Gustaffson - legend at King's Lynn .............. very much looking forward to the day Simon (who was a baby when Henka rode for Lynn!) takes to the Saddlebow Road track
  10. Jeez, not one I would enjoy watching, but as long as nobody does anything stuuuupid!
  11. Two for the price of one eh and be honest, supporting the Stars means more to you than supporting BSI
  12. Hardly a good reason not to like a rider Lupus! lol Mind you I guess I did the same when I was a kid re Ipswich riders.
  13. Not many tracks/promoters do, King's Lynn only have them cos they have to do this operation many times during the season to accommodate bikes and stock cars. In Terry's defence, I doubt he ever imagined he'd have to be taking "wet shale" off an "aussie track" ............. when was the last time that happened ......... ever????
  14. Troy had to take his exasperation out on something .......... better his bike than those around him eh
  15. Oh crikey, hope he doesn't feel the need to stamp his authority on the rest of the riders like he did Jason Crump at Lynn at the start of the 2005 season!!
  16. Of course you can, would they cheer for you racing for TeamGB against a Swedish team if they were fans???
  17. http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/aus_s..._bikes/messages Look on the aus yahoo group on the link above for a few more details.
  18. Interesting indeedy Deks, you'll have to come down to witness the battles! Rather glad that Chris plumped for Isle of Wight rather than the EL.
  19. Pity Anth hadn't got his coverage over the net sorted, would have LOVED to have watched this meeting!!! Awwwwwww shame! Thanks for the updates!!!
  20. April 11th at Swindon ................... anyone know if it will be televised and are there any other test matches organised against Australia, Denmark or Poland perhaps?
