  1. Just hope for a decent meeting to watch on the box and wish good luck to the aussies, most of em anyways
  2. Leave the boy alone for goodness sake, it's what he does on track that matters!! Seems to me that Tai's father might be the one for the BSPA to talk to, they need to find out just how he nurtured Tai into the rider he is today and hopefully put something in place for the youngsters along the same lines? He only races in the PL because he enjoys it more doesn't he? He was a 7-8 point EL rider a few years back before he broke his legs and is now back to good form again.
  3. Well if he makes it to be an english world champion he'll receive more plaudits from the british press than Jason did the aussie press! Does this tell us that he gives 100% effort when racing for his country but perhaps only 75% to racing in GB? Didn't expect much more really did you? It was a tall order for Tai and Eddie to come in there and race against vastly more experienced riders and come out on top every time which is what we needed to win the bleeding thing as well as the others doing it too. Richardson seemed low in confidence and speed, Scott failed to pull anything out of the bag, Harris certainly had his moments and rode a lot better but all in all just not enough. Never mind, there's always next year, we have a year to plan our 09 assault! Noticed the crowd was poor, what a shame
  4. Our youngsters will never be on a par with Sweden, Denmark and Poland because we just don't have the facilities they do, our speedway clubs are now council owned, our youngsters can't practice when they like, seemingly for nothing, what do we expect??? We are on the back foot all the time. What we need is for junior grasstrack to take off again big time cos it relatively cheap and gives the kids a good grounding for speedway imo.
  5. I don't get the Star at the moment but you're right it's pretty poor by them to not carry pics of the boys at Cardiff .........................
  6. Well IMG are the promoters of the WTC competition, if they want TeamGB to perform well they will have to pay for tuning bikes etc etc won't they?
  7. Why don't they play Land of Hope and Glory then, much much better
  8. Mark is involved with the Under 21's whilst recouperating isn't he, perhaps getting around to see the boys race if he's ok to do so is part of his remit, who knows?
  9. What was the track like when TeamGB did their practice, did they time their 4 laps, did they race one another? It was almost as if they didn't practice????
  10. Interesting post Spook, sounds about right to me. The british boys need to be given much more guidance and support for sure, why don't the likes of Mark Loram and David Norris go round each track and watch the boys race, give them tips, encouragement etc etc
  11. Yes Sube it was a rhetorical question But their averages show that they certainly aren't 9 point men out there ................... Is it time for all british tracks to be bald so our boys have to make bikes work on slick surfaces?
  12. He didn't stand down because of family business commitments then?
  13. Olly Allen certainly didn't sulk, he rode well in 2 of his races I saw! So don't tar them all with the same brush!! How clever! Nah, I've seen them ride well, haven't you? Not consistently granted but I definitely have! Perhaps what they need on their side is some clever, technically gifted speedway people.
  14. Hmmmmmmmmmm that was a tad embarrasing to say the least, it's not cos our riders are crap cos on their day they can beat the best, they'll have to work out what went wrong and hopefully put things to rights on Thursday. They must compare themselves to the danes and swedes and see what the difference is because there is a difference .......................
  15. Yeah I'm waiting for them to get to the position where no team will want to win their qualifier ................ that'll be a laugh!
  16. Was the track the norm for Leszno last night? The lines didn't seem to work for the riders like they have in the past .................... making it not such an exciting meeting as it should have been imo? The crowd looked pretty sparse too, were the prices too high for the poles to attend?
  17. Nooooooo, perlease! Just keep calm and collected Nige
  18. Oh so the BSPA didn't keep it all to themselves eh!! Perhaps IMG/BSI pay the riders a bonus? Jeff?
  19. He can have a speedway career, just not at the highest level. All depends what he wants out of his career doesn't it, I guess everyone who makes it to the top of any profession has to make sacrifice.
  20. Surely not, re Flint, he should be serving a ban by then and going for a refresher course in reffing?
  21. Track---------- Saddlebow Road, home of the King's Lynn Stars Capt----------- Bettsy Riders--------- Michael Lee, David Gagen, Richard Hellsen, Mick Poole, Stephen Davies & Bent Rasmussen No 8 Tiddler Turner! Promoter------ Maury Littlechild (never knew him but by all accounts he was a good promoter) Manager------- Maury again Announcer---- Edwin Overland (not totally sure when he started at Lynn) Track Prep---- Peter Whitby Race night---- Sat @ 7.30 Music---------- the marching tunes they used to play will be my abiding memory of my early days at Lynn as well as a few of the pop songs.
  22. Comes all a bit late for Adams and Pedersen though .................... maybe lessons should be learnt from this and 3 refs should be on duty at the GPs to make sure the rider's receive the right result!!
  23. Sounds to me as if IMG really are trying hard to get their rent down at the Millennium stadium What the the hotel problem and now Wembley raring it's head!
