  1. I look forward to the reports quoting this line Hope it happens too!!!!!
  2. Put on a bit of a show eh Fitting to see that he won this meeting. Christ almighty talk about the pot calling the kettle black, perhaps it's because Antonio isn't in total control of his bike like Nicki used to put his moves down to .......... And some call him other names haha I don't think I've ever read it written that a meeting from the Abbey Stadium was fantastic, what is wrong with that track?
  3. To put it blunt the Lynn promotion think they have built a stronger team without him. Well done Kev on your successful start to the season
  4. I can't understand why British Speedway bothers with this bloke ..............
  5. Found that prog of mine, was the Overseas Final from 1981 sponsored by the Sunday Mirror, cost 50p and won by Dave Jessup on 13 points, 2nd Chris Morton on 11 points, 3rd Bruce Penhall on 10 points and 4th Kelly Moran on 10 points. My man, Michael Lee came 6th on 9 points (messed up in heat 12 against Moran, Morton and Louis). Together with this prog I found a World Team Championship UK Round (that's what it said on the front!) prog, dated Sunday May 18th 1980 at 3pm, venue King's Lynn and featuring England, New Zealand, Australia and USA. Sponsored by Gauntlet hand picked used cars, cost 35p. Winners were England on 42 points from USA on 31 points, Australia on 14 and NZ on 9. Also a Daily Mirror sponsored World Team Championship Inter-continental final official prog, venue King's Lynn Speedway, dated Sunday June 28th 1981 at 3pm, cost 40p. England v Sweden v USA v Denmark. Winners by 1 point were Denmark on 31 from England on 30, USA on 27 and Sweden on 9.
  6. I'll find the programme out, me .............. hoarder .................... yep!
  7. Did White City finish in 1978? If so that must be the year I went and I think it must have been an international meeting.
  8. Posted by Roman Chyla on the yahoogroups forum: Reports from the Russian sources indicates that the easy money supply is running dry there, as much as anywhere else. The Russian League in the forthcoming season will consist only four teams, and NO foreign riders. The League starts of May 6th 2009. Oh dear, may mess the plans up of one or two riders?
  9. Very attractive line up so far Tom P, looking forward to it
  10. Two songs that always remind me of my early days at Lynn are Jimmy Mac Do It Again by Raffaella Carra
  11. Of course Holder realises what he was up against, at the moment he isn't a match for Leigh in Aus, with his vast experience and tip top equipment! IF all goes well for him in his career and there was any way to match him up with Leigh (as he's riding now) in about 13 years time then may be it would be a different story, unfortunately there's no way that can happen ........ shame eh?!
  12. IYO The Know, I've personally never sat in that stand, back straight is pretty good as close to the racing as poss
  13. It says they might unless they sort the league financially ie stop paying out more wages than they can afford .................
  14. Or it may persuade a few to retire .......................
  15. What did Len do to the track at Wembley in 75, I've never heard the story ..............
  16. Bet their races against one another were interesting!
  17. No, it's like everything else we have to keep supporting/buying british to keep it going ................
  18. Perhaps Olsen thinks it adds to the "entertainment" ...................
  19. Wrong Sam! Stale wasn't my word for them anyways, it was the words of one of IMGs sponsors!
  20. Have you not read the other threads on this subject .................. SKY!
