There are some great riders racing over here and yeah fill the meeting with those from the EL, we have to look after our own, those who want/are making the effort to race here! I don't care who they have, I'm not going anyway, just making a point that's all.

Yes probably. Of course the promoters are gonna use him if at all possible to pull in a bigger crowd ..................... maybe I sometimes think that perhaps they should give the boys who want to/are committed to racing over here the season these extra meetings though instead of those who can't possibly fit our insignificant speedway league into their schedule! I'm not whinging just putting forward my point!

Clubs should own all the engines, use a club tuner for servicing etc and the riders from both teams draw lots before the meetings. Allow the riders to have several laps of practice so they can get sorted too before the meeting starts.

I'm pretty sure that a few of the Pirates riders would not have been turned down for a ride in the meeting if they had enquired, you best ask them why they didn't lol

Exactly what I thought, it was a celebration of 82 years of speedway in GB, including 2010, what's wrong with these promoters and modern day riders!! The museum was great, gave them the old Stoke rattle I bought off ebay at last, they had already got the puzzle I took though! I hope they can expand the size of it. Thanks to all concerned!!

Luckily old Lenny appreciates us now and the KL teams come to that, he always puts them on the parade truck after the meeting Which I personally think every promoter should do if a team gives a good account of themselves away ...............

Given that, as I read in Briggos 1975 book, he and Ivan Mauger had the idea of a World Championship Series in 1972 and he writes "I've always been a great one for the idea of running a series of maybe ten meetings in all the different major speedway countries." He also says in the same book re the Wembley World Final, "as things stand at the moment a lot of the proceeds are diverted back in to British Speedway by way of the annual share-out to tracks."

I had to look all through this section of the forum to find the name, I wanted to hear it as much as you lol I couldn't remember the name of it but I could remember a thread months ago about speedway tunes Most youngsters don't understand how much that tune meant to us fans (still does ), I was only a kid when I started going to Lynn and certainly not into band music but it became part of the night for me, I always marched out of the stadium at the end of the meeting too Ahhhhhhhh those were the days

I'm glad the Fours are at Boro but I doooooooooooo hope they can put some temp stands up round the place cos it's not such good viewing??? I'd love everything to be at Lynn of course but can't be greedy haha

He'll want paying too much!! I presume riders who don't race here anymore don't gain from the SRBF, can they claim if they get injured racing abroad and is there something similar set up in Poland and Sweden ............ anyone???

Let's hope the advert is on the back of the Star up til the meeting date, was dismayed to see bloody Cardiff advertised AGAIN zzzzzzzzzzz instead of it last week! The Star should be doing their bit for the meeting!!
