What about Scott then!!
Trees replied to GeneralMelchett's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I would have thought there is loads more money being put into supporting the Danish cause by the Danish authorities, aren't they the lucky ones! And yes it was a shame for Scotty, that rut caused loads of probs! -
Why won't Sky let the "feud" rest
Trees replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I agree, to keep mentioning it has become boring. -
Like to add my congrats to Jason, waheyyyyyyy Mmmmm I wondered what he was asking/discussing with them too. Noticed how Crumpy senior was ushered back from the pits gate after the final, one rule for Jacob another rule for the rest hey!!
-
Yes good idea, instead of advertising just the BSI GP's and SWC couldn't they put up a list of fixtures for the next week or something, surely not too much to ask?? As for the advert for the SWC, it's tacky imo!
-
Adams or Crump would make brilliant world champions imo, they are the epitome of GREAT speedway riders and deserve the title ALL the way. I so hope one of them has the luck to lift the crown this season. They are both so good to watch on track ...........................

Well done David Norris
Trees replied to Philip Addison's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I don't get this statement at all, bloody Postlethwaite would be nowhere without the leagues and the riders, it's simple to cream off the top m8, it's keeping the leagues afloat where it is harder to be a winner! -
Well done David Norris
Trees replied to Philip Addison's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
He should be rightfully proud of what he did last night, shame the bloke has taken so long to "get serious" about the sport, just hope his head don't swell now he's doing so well Nah good luck to him, shame Lynn aren't in the EL, he'd have the last laugh this season!! -
My husband has a huge poster of Anders in action in Swedish colours (I think) on our bedroom wall of all places .............. no good to you I know but thought I would tell you .... lol

Cardiff Centre Green Announcer
Trees replied to tomhaines's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Makes me laugh when he says that too. As long as he don't use too many american colloquialisms you'll be ok. -
I wonder if Jason's little son will follow in the footsteps of Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad, now that would be summat!
-
Surely it's quite possible that BSI have their own set of rules and can overule the referees' decisions? It sure wouldn't surprise me one bit ................... I think as fans we need this clarified ................

GP Predictions Round 2 - Prague
Trees replied to Lioness's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You can't liken Leigh to Jimmy, yeah I guess they are/were both smooth riders but Jimmy was a well hard rider (as my 16 year old would put it!), Leigh wouldn't block or take another rider out. I always think he races so he's in one piece the next day and at the end of the day that is the most important thing. He goes down in my book as a great whether he becomes world champion or not, I am convinced if we still had the one day world final he would be champion by now anyhow. -
3. Perhaps it was at the other riders request, thinking about it perhaps it was at Ole Olsen's request, for the crowd entertainment, who knows??

The story of the 1st GP ?
Trees replied to gillam's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Must just chuck this idea into the ring As Ole has so much say in the GP, perhaps he had a word in Tony Steele's ear when Tony R had his "problems" ......... who knows -
The story of the 1st GP ?
Trees replied to gillam's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
No way should Crump have been excluded, yeah he fell but he immediately remounted and did not cause a stoppage. I don't think the race should have been stopped. -
Bjarne Pedersen Wins Danish Championship
Trees replied to Tiddie Woo's topic in International World of Speedway
Of course he is he's just won the Danish Championship and congratulations to him. -
£30K Starlady, most of those in the ABC1 group are earning considerably more than that Agreed, many of us are not in their league nor likely to be, nor want to be, many of them are crooks anyhow!
-
Owwwwwww touchy, I say this with my kids in mind, they tell my of kids who they know who are apparently taking some sort of drugs, and just accept it. The mother and father of my daughter even brought drugs back from Amsterdam just because they are legal over, they are smokers too so perhaps they think the drugs are no different to cigarettes. Anyway like you say this is a thread about Mike the Bike so I don't want to turn it into a thread re the rights and wrongs of drug taking and smoking! Kids of today ...........
-
Mike was my hero too, nothing will ever take away the enjoyment I got of watching him race on track. At the end of the day, as speedway fans, that's all that we should be concerned about. As for drugs, my drug was/is watching exciting speedway Young people these days just accept that others are taking them, surely they should be telling the authorities what is going on to help stamp the problem out?
-
Haven't read the piece in the Star as yet but would just like to say that for Michael to go the way he did, did not only deny him a great career but denied us fans of the pleasure of watching a master in action. Silly damned arse!!! As for the drugs issue, mmmmmmmm, I used to sit many a time in the Tuesday Market Place in Lynn after a meeting, wondering just what was going on in those vans!
-
Did it say who is promoting/running it?
-
Don't think I would have recognised him but for his smile, that hasn't changed a bit!
-
It's a damned annoying rule if your team is well in front, great for fans of the opposing team tho. It's got to make matches closer and therefore you would think more exciting but whether it will make the racing closer and have them passing I know not ................ (which is the most important thing to me). I'm in the enviable position of not really bothering too much if my own team win or not as long as i've seen a good meeting and a complete and utter neutral as far as the EL goes as long as, again, they are exciting tv matches
-
I was always for the guest system because it usually made a weakened team stronger with riders of the same calibre guesting for those out. That was if it was used fairly mind you, I was against a team using a guest for an injured rider ALL season! We, as fans, will have to suck it and see, will it make for better entertainment or weak v strong at times??

Good riders won't lose their jobs. And anyway if the top boys are just "testing" they'll want to put their engine through it's paces. We shall see, I love to see the top boys helping out their partner for a 5-1, it's easier said than done of course especially with another no 1, 3 or 5 chasing!!!
