Agreed that promoters would work the averages as always but those who go out to win the league probably wouldn't get the chance and that in turn would share the winners around? I would go for less gradings: Grade 5 8.5+ Grade 4 7.5 - 8.49 Grade 3 6.5 - 7.49 Grade 2 5.5 - 6.49 Grade 1 4.49 and less Then teams built to 20 points perhaps. I'd had thought that the promoters would have to work out to see if the riders that are on the books at present would all get a job with these gradings, it's pretty important for british speedway to keep the riders that do want to race here! Another way of changing speedway/possibly making the racing better imo would be to change the meeting format so that there are more races with riders of similar calibre. If that happened the riders averages would change completely of course, more thought has to go into this idea than I have given it haha, sounds good though

I'm sure all our promoters would like to run their tracks like Poland and/or Sweden/Denmark but as you say it's impossible. What all our promoters could do here would be to invite councillors to speedway all the time so they can see that speedway is good for their communities perhaps. -

Really, didn't realise that, can the riders still get plenty of practice on the tracks then or do they only stick to official practice day and race day? -
Totally agree.

Poland, Sweden and Denmark are very lucky to have speedway only tracks, it gives them such an advantage over the UK. -

How it must have peed the riders off that it wasn't still there, it's so unfair to PL and NL riders

I'd agree that the Poles most certainly seem to have a very professional and serious attitude towards their speedway so much so that one or two couldn't deal with it But the main thing I'm suggesting that goes for the Poles is the very good state of their speedway clubs. Therefore parts for bikes, tuning expertise, facilites for testing, personal training etc etc, everything that is important to give riders every opportunity to do well is in abundance in Poland from day 1 of a riders career. Well done Team Poland!! -

And it would have paid off had Harris not changed his bike set up as he admitted after it!!! -

So you're telling me they don't have 24 hour availability to their speedway only speedway tracks in Poland, club mechanics etc etc etc I wasn't really meaning the riders' personal wealth but the wealth of Polish speedway in general. -

He didn't bottle it did he, unless that means he failed in his attempt, he admitted to making changes to his bike that didn't work, he then put it back to his previous setting and won his next too arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh but good on him for admitting his mistake. So the Poles won, well they jolly well should, their riders have the most money and the most track time of any of the countries, they're lucky eh! -
Really awkward crash for Armstrong and Webster in the first heat, they got hooked up together going into the first turn. So it was an uphill battle for the Hornets but they got used to the track in the end, particularly Kyle Newman and Mark Jones. I was really impressed with Kyle, on track and his interview with Kevin. Was great to see Mark back in action at Lynn again, I particularly enjoyed his heat 10 race with Cal McDade where he cut back out of the 4th bend to take the 2nd by inches, his win in 12 and then a hard fought 2nd in the last heat For the Stars Adam Allott was on his usual fast Saddlebow Road form, they couldn't have picked a better guest! Of course he brought our injured Star (Kev) down with him who ended up helping Buster with his team managing duties, don't think he ballsed up the programme too much haha. Adam Lowe was on a max until his engine blew in heat 11, he was livid. Lewis Kerr once again impressed, on two wheels and equally laying his bike down following James W/W's fall on the apex of the 1st/2nd bend when he'd set his mind to hammering round that wide outside! He looks right and I hope will go far with a bit of luck The lone scot Cal McDade started off with two wins but was beaten by the impressive Newman in heat 9, pipped on the line by Jonesy in 10 and third behind his team mate after veteran Tony Atkin finally got it together from the gate and on track to win heat 14. Scott and Chris equally chipped in for the win by the Young Stars There were some interesting heats following the main event with Adam Roynon practising and a tall young aussie who's name I never managed to find out, having his first go round good old Saddlebow Road

Whose Idea Was It To Use Kings Lynn ?!?
Trees replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Agreed, just think how the riders racing on Wednesday must have felt, they HAVE to put it at the back of their minds, but it must rankle with them surely? Pees me off but as fans we are powerless, well unless we are rich and would like to buy one and give it to Buster and offer to put it up and take it down etc etc -

Our boys will want it as much as they other countries, they have experience on their side, come on the BRITS!!!!! -
At least the story/quote etc got in the newspapers, can't be a bad thing, all publicity is good publicity, just you keep on posting controversially Darcy Darcy has nothing to lose, he's an aussie, brits and aussies love to beat one another, he's talented, he's loving life, he's a character.

That would be a good way of booting out BSI then, no clubs buy the rights haha

Everyone is getting carried away surely, if you're following a race closely and an opposition rider is close to beating your home rider and then he makes a mistake and falls it's just natural to give a bit of a cheer, it doesn't mean you are hoping he's hurt himself it's because your home team have the advantage/the opposition has failed in their attempt to beat your home rider. Simply as that in my mind. -
Are you saying Olesen got the gate monies then rather than BSI? Surely BSI rented his track and they took the gate money?
-
Agreed crap race track, considering it rained yesterday too, was the same poo as Poland! But if that's what BSI wants .....................

But Shovlar it's not the BSPA's decision is it, surely it's purely BSI's, take that up with them!!!!! -

Rob can't prepare and race the bikes for the riders, it's their mental attitude he can alter and they sure as hell had the right mental attitude. If at the end of the day they aren't good enough to win the final it won't be for the lack of trying. Middlo did the same too but a change was in order. -
