You can't compare an individual meeting or two in Aus to the league programme week night meetings over here can you? Were the riders involved being paid what they are paid here? Perhaps if the EL riders here didn't expect to use all new equipment every season their costs and demands might be lower ....... The promoters could take the risk but that is the problem, it would be a risk ..... and even if they gained a few at a lower price, if they then needed to put prices up because the lower pricing wasn't working they would possibly lose many of those newbies?

The 2011 calendar was surely a missed opportunity, did the 2010 ones not sell well?

I'm really not surprised that the "fans" thought there was/is some sort of hidden message in that Christmas scene, of course they want to think that their team will be running next season, as a "fan" it's only natural!!

I'm probably repeating myself but I'm hoping that if we do go up to the EL that we will also have the NL team to support when we don't have an EL meeting. The only reason I didn't support the young stars was because I couldn't jusify 2 meetings in one week. I am also hoping that IF we go up that we will be able to retain a few of our current riders in our EL team. Perhaps you should have included the word "some" before people in this part of your post Mimmo!!

The Chapmans are in a position where they can take a punt at EL given a load of dosh because if next year they decide that they don't want to risk it they just forget speedway, the stadium can run on stock cars alone, no probs!

I'm hoping that the promoters agree on a lower conversion rate and Coventry and Peterborough are in to make a 10 team league ........... if it's 100% that we're in. I won't deny that I am a wee bit excited about the riders we might be watching at Lynn next season..... I hope also that we keep the NL team so we can have a home meeting when there's no EL date!!

If PL hasn't attracted the crowds that Brum need to run perhaps EL is worth a punt. Hope it all works out whether or not it's happening.

It's not all about the star riders, it's about supporting your home team to win and hopefully see some decent racing with it

That was a "for example" Orion. Only the promoters know the true cost of the EL, they will have to make their own decision.
