  1. Can understand why though, they never expected quite so many people, as you say as fitting tribute! Some really good racing, stand outs for me being Darcy (of course), AJ, PK and Lewis Bridger. Bridger gave a heartfelt tribute to Lee and his family and obviously raced hard for his 2nd place, AJ was clearly enjoying his evening back racing at Lakeside and PK was PK Darcy gave it everything, very entertaining, as always, wanted the win and wanted the engine It must have been such an emotional night for Lee's family, his eldest son brought a tear to my eye when he told us thank you for coming to his Dad's Memorial meeting over the tannoy, hit home, certainly did! Wishing the family all the best for the future, hope we helped in some small way.
  2. Ash was no EL snob I'd layabet that Ash would have been chuffed to bits to think we still think of him, riders still ride in his honour whether they be at NL, PL or EL level and that fans turn up to watch them do their stuff. I, too, was looking forward to the meeting, it would have been interesting to see the riders in the line up, all riders should be (even Fisher but I'll let others do that haha) admired for racing speedway, it's not as easy as some make it look. As always it would have been a time to remember Ash racing at Lynn, remember what a great guy he was, remember his 4th bend passes, remember his team riding with Kev Doolan, remember the great team spirit the Stars had that year, remember how things were looking so good for his next season in GB when he was dealt that cruel card on 13th November 2005 RIP Ashley Jones
  3. Thought I'd make a banner with "Remembering Rico at King's Lynn" .............. wouldn't it be great if people from all clubs made something similar up too, black writing on a white sheet?? Would be special to think all clubs were represented.
  4. Certainly hasn't looked to be enjoying speedway for years ,not surprised about his decision at all. Yeah I wonder if he'll have one last hurrah in GB, perhaps he'll retire altogether ..................... we have all certainly enjoyed his efforts over the years, particularly when he rode for King's Lynn in 2000 and 2001
  5. Didn't they know the rain was coming then, surely had they prepared the track anything but totally dry before the covers went on then it would have been a different track to what it was? It was a typical Double O track. Why ever is it the last year of racing at Ole's track? Can't he (or whoever) stump up the money anymore or is it the end of some internal deal with the FIM BSI and Ole? I notice that a nice new grandstand has been put up since I visited there earlier in the 00s. Holder is becoming the only rider that SKY focus on with interviews and shots between races, have all the other riders signed an interview black out or summat?? Holder'll make a great champ, 100% better than Pedersen and he races in GB, let's hope that continues
  6. Yes I agree Semion hence I typed "whether he is asked to race or not" ...............
  7. Surely Kev should be told about the meeting every year whether he is asked to race or not, very disappointing from our management!!
  8. Still think it's a pity that the speedway world championship can't be raced for all in one season, so many qualifiers then so many actual rounds, all beginning in March. Qualifiers would be just as exciting as rounds, perhaps more so. But that's me and not the way of the FIM and BSI
  9. Troy back to Lynn ................. unlikely innit!! He'd have to have a major change of heart!!
  10. Actually SCB, the Hancock, Hancock, Hancock and Hancock race could be the best race ever with loads of real clear and classy passes Unlike the Nicki race, where all the Nickis would end up in the fence!
  11. Haha what comes around goes around eh, Pedersen has brought it on himself ..........
  12. I'm hoping that Norwich gets the go ahead and he races there, local boy, local club, fingers crossed
  13. Loyalty to the British League should certainly be recognised. There are very few riders who manage to stay with the same club, with the numbers game their destiny isn't in their own hands. I certainly don't feel Kasprzak should be getting a testimonial, has he actually done 10 full seasons in the EL?
  14. Clearly a male thing Rhidassa, they can't help themselves playing management tch!
  15. It's a pity that either side need to have r/r in NL racing!!
  16. The season isn't over, shouldn't discuss next year yet, disrespectful imo!
  17. Depends if they want to boost official numbers ........
  18. It's nothing to do with moving on, Lee should always be remembered and paid tribute to and will be, just like all fallen riders ...............
