  1. Aw diddums, does Nicki not think he's getting the praise he deserves, geez I've heard that already this season (Edinburgh), of course Nigel and Kelv should give the riders who are racing in GB more of a plug, we have to look after our own
  2. At Lynn we are paying £12 per adult, £8 concession, £4 12-16 and nothing 11 and under, everything else is up to you really, I never do the raffle I'm afraid or a fuel fund and have a couple of coffees at £2 a night. Of course u can print off your own scorecard as many people do these days, it would be quite interesting if each promoter printed a one sheet scorecard with sponsors names on the back costing 50p and the usual £2 prog to see which ones the fans went for
  3. Well plenty of us had the pleasure of meeting Lunchy at Lynn last night, he's harmless, what u running on about He's certainly looking forward to his marathon speedway holiday, he'll have a ball
  4. The Danish riders were meant to keep the scoreline between them and Poland to under 6 points so the Poles couldn't put in a tactical rider (that is the rule, when a team is 6 or more points down on the team who is winning at the time they can nominate a rider to ride as a double point tactical substitute) who could would score double but they made a mistake and did so, but luckily for them Mr Gollob didn't manage to get the win. They had to make sure their placings in their races kept them under the 6. It's totally wrong really because you could end up with a farce of a race, speedway needs every rider to be giving 100% effort to win a race not riders tactically throttling off
  5. Yep, I, too, thought they gave up the ghost, apart from CH when Crumpy got injured, perhaps the olduns amongst them decided that they would let the other 3 countries fight it out amongst themselves and not get involved in any dodgy manouvres, either that or they literally didn't fancy racing in the conditions ............. hmmmmmm that adds up .......... TCH! Or perhaps they did a TeamGB on it and couldn't work out the right set ups ........... hmmmmmmmm
  6. Almost, apart from the first bend, one of the most important parts of the track lol
  7. It must be so good to have everyone in your country on your side like Denmark, I'm thinking the DMU and fans of course, not many national speedway teams have that. It's really no wonder that the danes are so determined and patriotic to the cause, they have no cause not to be eh! They had what seemed like a great team spirit and a team with strength all the way through, well done to them.
  8. Nah Shaz I'm not Amused at the dramas everyone is having to go through to be relieved of their hard earnt money!
  9. Well I could be very wrong but he certainly doesn't seem to have a good rapport with the team??? Give the job to Rob Lyon, his ways seem to work pretty darn well!
  10. How SAD it is that this thread is discussing how pissed riders get or not ................... professional sportsmen should never get pissed imo
  11. Just hope for a decent meeting to watch on the box and wish good luck to the aussies, most of em anyways
  12. Leave the boy alone for goodness sake, it's what he does on track that matters!! Seems to me that Tai's father might be the one for the BSPA to talk to, they need to find out just how he nurtured Tai into the rider he is today and hopefully put something in place for the youngsters along the same lines? He only races in the PL because he enjoys it more doesn't he? He was a 7-8 point EL rider a few years back before he broke his legs and is now back to good form again.
  13. Well if he makes it to be an english world champion he'll receive more plaudits from the british press than Jason did the aussie press! Does this tell us that he gives 100% effort when racing for his country but perhaps only 75% to racing in GB? Didn't expect much more really did you? It was a tall order for Tai and Eddie to come in there and race against vastly more experienced riders and come out on top every time which is what we needed to win the bleeding thing as well as the others doing it too. Richardson seemed low in confidence and speed, Scott failed to pull anything out of the bag, Harris certainly had his moments and rode a lot better but all in all just not enough. Never mind, there's always next year, we have a year to plan our 09 assault! Noticed the crowd was poor, what a shame
  14. Our youngsters will never be on a par with Sweden, Denmark and Poland because we just don't have the facilities they do, our speedway clubs are now council owned, our youngsters can't practice when they like, seemingly for nothing, what do we expect??? We are on the back foot all the time. What we need is for junior grasstrack to take off again big time cos it relatively cheap and gives the kids a good grounding for speedway imo.
  15. I don't get the Star at the moment but you're right it's pretty poor by them to not carry pics of the boys at Cardiff .........................
  16. Well IMG are the promoters of the WTC competition, if they want TeamGB to perform well they will have to pay for tuning bikes etc etc won't they?
  17. Why don't they play Land of Hope and Glory then, much much better
  18. Mark is involved with the Under 21's whilst recouperating isn't he, perhaps getting around to see the boys race if he's ok to do so is part of his remit, who knows?
  19. What was the track like when TeamGB did their practice, did they time their 4 laps, did they race one another? It was almost as if they didn't practice????
  20. Interesting post Spook, sounds about right to me. The british boys need to be given much more guidance and support for sure, why don't the likes of Mark Loram and David Norris go round each track and watch the boys race, give them tips, encouragement etc etc
  21. Yes Sube it was a rhetorical question But their averages show that they certainly aren't 9 point men out there ................... Is it time for all british tracks to be bald so our boys have to make bikes work on slick surfaces?
  22. He didn't stand down because of family business commitments then?
