  1. Might come to that I guess if the gp series gets any bigger ..... prefer it to implode myself lol
  2. Pity we can't claim back Saturdays, let the bloody GPS run on Wednesday nights!
  3. Track is hell of a dusty, don't they water it much before the meeting, material is like dust!
  4. [quote name="ghcooke" post="2441720" One other area, and I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere, is the impact the development has upon those riding at 2 and 4. If they do badly then they'll probably get the chop anyway, but if they do well then their average will be grotesquely inflated and they'll be out of a job next year. Over the years there have been quite a few riders who have worked so hard in one year that they've become unemployable in the following - this year I suspect that quite a few more will fall into this trap. Don't you think that the BSPA will downgrade their averages appropriately, I do, it wouldn't be right not to!
  5. I think people years ago were all in the same boat, no money, low expectations (compared to now) and basically happy with the lot on the whole. Times have changed completely, we now crave everything, want to be the best, want to do the lot and go everywhere and many people are just not settled and happy with their life. Put that together with all the abuse, neglect, hate etc and life can be a right old pain!
  6. Change the rider introductions, the riders seem to hate them and the fans aren't particularly wowed by them either. I've suggested on another thread that perhaps all the riders could come out on bikes, instead of lining up in a line get into some sort of gaggle/circle then the mic man could just introduce them as a team hopefully to rapturous applause of the crowd, then off they can go for their practice lap/starts? As for the racing, I'm liking the format we've got now so far with more similar ability races .... It's up to the promoters and riders to get I into the psyche of the local population, they just have to try harder .......
  7. Certainly fans these days don't see the riders on the pedastals as fans used to. I mean it's hard work at Lynn to get some fans!! to even give the boys a clap on the parade! Not that I think these people don't respect and admire the riders, I guess it's more a not being blase thing! Perhaps this is where the promoters need to step up to the plate and do something different, WWE style, perhaps get each team in circle and announce them just as a team, play their signature tune and get them all to rev their bikes, oh yeah can picture it now .... :-)
  8. Fans want it all ways, they want entertainment (close racing) and they want to win (win the league). Some riders just want to win, some want to win but help their team mates/team too. I don't see too much WWE stuff going on, perhaps a deliberate slide off now and again, by the nature of speedway, WWE sh*t isn't possible. Of course there is a living to be made along the way for the riders, which is the same in all professional sports. I guess you could say that the promoter provides the entertainment (the meeting, music, mic man, etc) and the riders are the pro sportsmen.
  9. No I don't suppose he is up the duff ha! Just saying what I believe sorted me out, I hope Lewis isn't clinically depressed and that a bit of psychological help will do the trick! Talking didn't do me any good whatsoever though ....
  10. Well it most certainly could be, would be daft of Ford to not take advantage of the situation eh
  11. I suffered from post natal depression for 2-3 years, it was the medication that sorted me out in the end, took all that time though!
  12. Apart from he can be out of control, overriding I suppose.
  13. I see Bridger has tweeted that his head isn't in the right place, says he's depressed ....
  14. Mads scored well last night at Leicester so should come into the meeting confident, Doyle was one of few who beat Niels last year at Lynn so their races should be epic. Steady is going well and we know what he can do round Lynn if on form. Sounds like we will be treated to some good races :-) Of course nothing but 3 points will do!!
  15. Just stay away from the Lynn threads children ha
  16. True though isn't it?! I've seen a few absolutely wonderful gps from there over the years with constant passing every heat, but the track has slowly changed over the years, still good but could be so much better .....
  17. Could have been better though had they not had to grade all the material off.....
