  1. Oh god, where do I start, if it wasn't for Bridger's celebrations, watching the Poles shaking hands with their supporters at the end and having pics taken and the danes giving Jan Steachmann and another larger member of their team the bumps I'd have had a totally wasted day, at least they showed passion and caring. I really should have known that the bloody Rye track is almost impossible to pass on anyways, £60 down the swanny
  2. I'd much rather the world championship was a series of qualifiers and maybe the best of 3 final. More riders would be involved starting from scratch every year, every ride would be absolutely crucial. Sounds more exciting to me than the 11 round series we have now.
  3. Owwwwwwwww yes cos every ride counted big time in every qualifier and of course hugely in the final, the tension was massive unlike in the GP series ...........
  4. This thread has got to be the bsf at one of it's worse
  5. Well yeah, doesn't everyone get annoyed when important things go wrong, particularly in sport? Of course the TV people must love winding them up more than they already are, anyone could tell by Holder's body language in particular that he was ermmmmmm "annoyed" lol Time to leave well alone if they didn't want the viewers to hear expletives I'd have thought??!!
  6. So good to see a brit do so well and from the back too, brilliantly well done Bomber!! Great to see Ted showing his support too
  7. Sounds like you have probably got it right, it was in the Star this week.
  8. Most British fans would prefer if the brits qualified properly, in fact I think most would prefer all the riders to qualify.
  9. This would be good for Polish Speedway and BSI. I hope Gollob does it. It's odd that Poland, being the main speedway nation, haven't produced more world champs!
  10. I wondered if that bit of lift he got meant that he couldn't pass Emil as tight/wasn't then on as tighter line, as he hoped, hence the clash?
  11. Just a shame he can't race under the flag of his home nation though or doesn't he care?
  12. Thank you, best look after them then
  13. The BSPA oughta buy the rights to this and do a deal with SKY, I'd like to be able to see it, wouldn't you? Even better hold it over here so we can see some of it live
  14. I have one of Lionel Van Praag and one of Frank Charles. It says on the back copyright photo by C F Wallace, Manchester.
  15. Can anyone tell me if these are rare or not please?
  16. Agreed that promoters would work the averages as always but those who go out to win the league probably wouldn't get the chance and that in turn would share the winners around? I would go for less gradings: Grade 5 8.5+ Grade 4 7.5 - 8.49 Grade 3 6.5 - 7.49 Grade 2 5.5 - 6.49 Grade 1 4.49 and less Then teams built to 20 points perhaps. I'd had thought that the promoters would have to work out to see if the riders that are on the books at present would all get a job with these gradings, it's pretty important for british speedway to keep the riders that do want to race here! Another way of changing speedway/possibly making the racing better imo would be to change the meeting format so that there are more races with riders of similar calibre. If that happened the riders averages would change completely of course, more thought has to go into this idea than I have given it haha, sounds good though
  17. I'm sure all our promoters would like to run their tracks like Poland and/or Sweden/Denmark but as you say it's impossible. What all our promoters could do here would be to invite councillors to speedway all the time so they can see that speedway is good for their communities perhaps.
  18. Really, didn't realise that, can the riders still get plenty of practice on the tracks then or do they only stick to official practice day and race day?
  19. Fancy putting him in before Poles, I bet there are some a bit annoyed about that??!!
  20. Poland, Sweden and Denmark are very lucky to have speedway only tracks, it gives them such an advantage over the UK.
  21. Poor old John, knew he had broken bones so did he Get well soon!
