  1. Come stand on the first bend m8, it's not too loud there UNLESS I'm getting luggy in my old age haha
  2. Because that is where i want to stand lol! Surely it's important to have the speakers working well in all parts of the stadium though, baring in mind I'm not the only person who stands on the first bend, thing is it has been louder in the past so I know there must be a prob with it.
  3. Speedway's "BIONIC" man they call him, what a tally of injuries in any sport, any where, any decade!!
  4. Lynn have one and yes it is good for those that can't hear the tannoy/don't use a programme .......... for me the important thing is to have a really good tannoy system, I stand at Lynn on the first bend and it's not too good there especially with the noise from the pits at times. It's also important for the centre green presenter to do his/her damnedest to up the anti of the meeting, we're a quiet lot at Lynn, we need someone to gee us up .............. not me but the blinking lot around me (you know who you are ) think clapping in gloved hands is good enough to make atmosphere, tch!!!!
  5. They grade tracks often to smooth out the ruts made by the bikes and to spread the material over the track!! You must have seen how dangerous a track can become when there is loads of dirt near the fence with riders risking all to get their back tyre in the dirt? A few years back when Lynn was a differently prepared track to what it is no w (Buster doesn't put as much material on any more!) Huggy would grade after every race and riders could pass inside and outside and race times were the same throughout the meeting, it turned a good shaped race track into a great race track and was hailed as the best track in the country by many riders. It annoys me that fans moan about the grading of tracks, it's a very necessary part of speedway, look at the debacle of the GP tracks and the televised tracks, only being able to be graded after every 4 when it might need it more often, ridiculous, but never mind the riders and the quality of racing just as long as the advertisers are catered for :-S
  6. So EL speedway needs rentateenagecrowd then!! LOL
  7. I think we all know why they do it, not so easy to do at an EL meeting though, unless the cameras are very, very strategically placed!
  8. isn't that what BSI do at Cardiff? That might be the case at Rye, horrible place!!!
  9. Gord knows enough FANS have put their ideas on here as to how speedway might attract more fans. The promoters do what they think is best within the confines of cost (which we are not privy to whatsoever!) . . . I'd like to know what riders think though . . . . it's their lives on the line/ar*** on the bikes, do they think they do all they can to improve the product, there's nothing more they can do, it's down to the promoters?
  10. I agree that promoters should make SKY matches loads cheaper to attract the fans so it looks good on tv. I'm guessing that if they don't reduce the cost the amount of money they earn from fans attending and the SKY money covers their costs ok so they don't want to take the risk of reducing the price. Admittedly some do at different times. At the end of the day it's all about covering their costs .................. perhaps they could speculate to accumulate but will those fans that got in cheap come back to a non-sky meeting paying full price .............. now if the racing was uber exciting they would eh??? Promoters must get across to the public just how easy the riders make a difficult and dangerous job look, how they have to make decisions in a split second, how they have no brakes etc We the fans shouldn't take what they are doing out there for granted but give them the respect and cheers/applause that is part and parcel of supporting a club! Nevertheless speedway needs the riders to have great races because they can, what's the answer to making it happen though? Riders strive so hard to make the best gate but at the end of the day fans want to see the guys NOT make the gate and have to use their skills to pass ............... erm ................. handicap racing
  11. I beg to differ Bwitcher, if the racing was great fans and journalists could shout it from the roof tops and surely more people would be attracted?
  12. I've said it loads of times on here, it doesn't matter how good racing was or is, it sure needs to be good/better from here on in to keep attracting fans, can't anyone work out how to make every match great?
  13. Buster has an array of banger races going on at the NA today so that's why we have no meeting no doubt! Together with the fact that we had a meeting on Friday, fans would have been moaning about 2 meetings in 4 days!!
  14. I don't buy the Star anymore so it's news to me! Some of it anyways ...........
  15. Inside Speedway was certainly available at Lynn so bought one in a plastic bag (attention to detail ) .......... impressed so far, well done Marc Gent!
  16. NO IT'S NOT, IT'S ALIVE AND KICKING, NOW TELL YOUR MATES!!!!! Positivity breeds positivity
  17. So you're saying a rider can only pass when the other makes a mistake then? If it is his favourite but provides very few chances for passing then he wants to have a rethink, his sport and job will not survive without providing what the fans want to see! In that case he needs to be allowed to do it because IMG are losing him money!
  18. It's the little things that count eh ................... fantastic gesture Newcastle
  19. I thought it was a rule made by their governing body?
