  1. Never been to Sittingbourne so can't comment. Never thought of having a meal whilst watching speedway and never will I very much doubt so that doesn't get a thumbs up from me lol. All I want from stadium is a good track & viewing, really good presentation, clean loos preferably situated in a couple of places around the track, somewhere to easily get a cuppa and a free car park. Erm so no EL track passes, Lynn offers the majority but falls down on presentation ......
  2. The promoters need to concentrate on the state of their tracks, their presentation and who they target (16-30?) for freebies etc imo.
  3. I would feel your pain if the same thing was happening at Lynn Adam! Hope it all turns out positive.
  4. Not what I watched this year as far as the actual speedway is concerned, apart from Eastbourne, Coventry and the play off meetings at Lynn and Poole. Loads of other things could be put right if the will is there, things that wouldn't all cost a fortune too. You are looking at things from a different angle to me I guess.
  5. I've changed my mind, let any team other than Poole have him on a 4!!!!!!!
  6. A certain past promoter said that speedway is a "nest of vipers"! I would have thought Phil doesn't want to harm the integrity of the sport any more than it does to itself anyway by spouting vitriol? Hopefully people will believe his mate above ...........I think I do ........
  7. Looks jolly good, very professional, hope he signs for someone anyways and look forward to seeing him at Lynn. Perhaps oughta start on a 6 average!
  8. I personally loved it, probably because our two FTR's were local so it was fantastic to be able to support them at our club :-) They also did really well, so it was double whammy for us.Of course I think all clubs needed one really good FTR and a mistake was made not to include those few young guys who were border line because then each team would have had a good number 6.
  9. I think Lynn and Coventry should have their centre greys painted :-)
  10. Asked my son this morning, who loves bikes and has had a go at speedway, what stops him going. His first thoughts were the effort it takes from where we live to get to Lynn straight from work without having tea. He reckoned if he lived in Lynn rather than 40 miles away he would go. He then mentioned the food, which he thinks should be better quality, that's not hard to achieve! He said he would always want to go with his mates so perhaps targeting local 16-25 year olds who love getting out is the way to go. He did have one idea for fans, that he would like to experience, that is have your name pulled out of a hat to be able to watch from the centre green, next to the flag Marshall for the start and then in the middle for the rest of the race, that wouldn't be hard eh? He agreed with me when I said the presentation should be better, with banter, good music and interaction with the fans. He also thinks riders should try harder, particularly with the kids, to have a presence at the club, other than the speedway. That is down to the rider but also the man on the mic?
  11. Who are you Pirate Oliver, perhaps u need to change your name to Pirate Negative?!
  12. That's what the fans wanted to know!
  13. The BSPA, the management committee I take it? Not learnt from their mistakes then? :-(
  14. The majority of the riders think it's great.
  15. They would have to pay me to go to that :-) Yeah Buster tries hard in many areas, not just tries hard but has them right, but not with the presentation imo.
  16. The BSPA should forget about the actual averages of the fast track boys and just pick the british number sixes from the best fast trackers and the ones that we all feel missed out maybe. Then do similar to this year for the sevens perhaps :-)
  17. I thought rider's contracts went to the end of October over here, they used to anyway?
  18. Fair enough Phil, but then again if we have a Friday meeting at Lynn we probably have more fans attend :-D No doubt if we had one off Saturday nights we'd enjoy some great crowds with loads of away fans attending! Shows that it depends what off day u run on :-)
  19. I don't believe this one bit but some would say same as the top boys do racing in the GPS for nothing much ......
  20. What I am saying is that fans can actually get used to a different race night, we had to at Lynn .....
  21. Now read this letter, after receiving my second hand Star off a mate :-) An interesting read from a guy involved on the inside for the first time this year. He should write a list for Buster to take to the Conference and perhaps the Promoters will consider his points, even if they poopoo what he has to say it will stay with them and they may reconsider at the end of the day! Good on ya David!!!!
  22. I should think it's because not much time is put into preparation of the tracks these days and they have hardly any material on them in the first place. I'm pretty sure nobody uses actual shale anymore either. Ask Buster ....
  23. Well we must be a bit different at Lynn cos we changed from Saturdays to Wednesdays and the crowds aren't too bad. Although I dare say they might be better on a Saturday ..... no school for the kids, no work next day for away fans etc
