  1. BSI/IMG certainly don't seem to be able to get speedway press coverage in the tabloids, you'd think such a huge company would have good media contacts/hold some sway? 2. Oh come off it, the World Championship always has been and always will be a different ball game to league racing as far as attracting crowds goes. As a meeting though they do nothing different to league promoters!
  3. The only good Cardiff is to British speedway is "maybe" to encourage some of the attendees who don't attend British speedway anymore (and there's quite a few - day out, atmosphere etc) to keep watching it on tv! Great innit, what a wonderful thing BSI do for our sport :-P The only good Cardiff is to British speedway is "maybe" to encourage some of the attendees who don't attend British speedway anymore (and there's quite a few - day out, atmosphere etc) to keep watching it on tv! Great innit, what a wonderful thing BSI do for our sport :-P I think the GP series is one of the reasons that some of the top riders don't race here, it has as many meetings as a league itself!
  4. I think having the girls teetering about in their heels, blowing kisses and pouting is a bit old hat now, think of something else they can do to wow the cameras!
  5. There's plenty of riders that race well at Lynn, must be spoilt :-)
  6. So there's plenty of tracks that would benefit from a go with Buster's motorway blade B-) Get it sorted promoters B-)
  7. Thankful for small mercies eh Skidder?!!
  8. And even if sports do have millionaire backers and multi million pound tv deals (footy etc) they still don't lower the entrance prices!! Of course promoters could give better value to their customers, there's plenty of things that could be done that cost nothing much apart from enthusiasm, time and effort.
  9. Don't youngsters do paper rounds/Saturday jobs anymore? That's how I used to pay for my speedway!
  10. Emil and Hampel can't be taken into account as they race less and so don't have as much pressure on . . .
  11. I certainly know of plenty of people who watch speedway on the box but would not go see it live! I have a few asking whether the BEL is gonna be on TV or not this year, difficult to answer!!!!
  12. I've been posting on here for over 10 years now, omg! The forum is certainly a part of my speedway life as such and I would miss it like mad lol
  13. I have personally loved over the years when we've had Aussie riders commentate on races, same sort of thing I guess?
  14. Who's gonna tell me what PC thinks will help the sport then, I don't buy the Star these days, please :-)
  15. Why don't the BSPA as a whole get merchandise made and sold on a BSPA website? Look at what the football clubs produce for some ideas on what is popular . . .
  16. It's all about the racing, soooo listen to the riders!
  17. This news needs to be put in the General section?
  18. I've thought about that, why don't promotions approach someone like Vistaprint, they produce banners for next to nothing, as do our local school come to that!
  19. Can't you talk to your local promoter instead, perhaps he can give you an insight into why these decisions have been made? And try to do some sort of deal with them to make a difference yourself to British speedway?
  20. You're on your own m8, I can't wait for March :-) If you have the answer to our sport get involved! I've no money to invest or I would get involved and try to make a difference. As it is I'll just keep on attending British speedway and enjoy watching the racing on show!
  21. One would hope that more detail would be given to them than us ;-)
  22. Perhaps they support their home town team only like we do?
