Bloody hell u can't compare these tragedies with Darcy. Actually if anything, because of what can happen in this sport, gives more strength to Darcy's case to race again.
I think the timer clocks on the centre green are the way to go and then it's up to the ref to time the meeting. As long as they allow time for track grading and time for riders to do a celebratory lap then I'll be happy :-)
Loads of older "old" speedway fans are happy just watching it on Sky, don't think this lot will ever come back, we have to appeal to the young ones! Marketing the sport as extreme and some of the riders as err 'pin ups' might helpBut then the promoters also need to make the presentation up to date as well! Get input/ideas from youngsters is my suggestion lol
On the other hand if they are just trying to sell the competition to media other than speedway media they will know no better. If they can sell a great speedway meeting between international clubs and it turns out good racing then it's a winner! Onto the next year ......
So it was fair to take out the reserve in heat 8 when 6 points down, easily get a 5 1 so you're then just 2 points adrift, whereas with the TR you'll be 10 points down, very lucky indeed to get an 8 1 to end up 3 points adrift ..... so more chance for the losing team with the old tacs to WIN the meeting!!?
To do away with the old tac sub rule was the right thing to do given it resulted in too many lower order riders not having their alloted rides.
I like the fact that, particularly in 2015, it is imperative to get an 8 1 to really do any good out of the tac ride, puts more pressure on and means the riders have to team ride.
