  1. Nooooooooo!! Thank christ Dan just does his own thing, fair enough if Tai has helped him along the way ......
  2. Yes true and maybe in this day and age when there is barely enough riders to go round the riders have got the upper hand when negotiating but surely promoters only get burnt once? I've always thought promoters should offer a win bonus within reason. Years ago riders had percentages of gate receipts, promoters have done all sorts of deals by the looks of it .....
  3. Fans basically, most of our clubs have had numerous owners (not so many at Lynn obviously) but they only exist because of the fans, no fans, no club. Of course there are good and bad owners, no owner is perfect but the majority of owners of speedway clubs are pretty passionate about their clubs and do their best (some see their best as good, some rubbish but that's people for ya). Of course owners of stadiums have sold stadiums from under the feet of the fans, many, many past owners, that's another story!
  4. Let's go 3 good gates, 2 poor gates lol You ought to have seen the 4th bend line he took at Lynn last night to defeat Holder in heat 13!
  5. Re Pickering, I love watching him race but I'd love, for his sake and ours, for him to gate consistently ......
  6. Being grateful to have a team is not killing the sport it's keeping it going. We know absolutely no rider is happy to race and score no points, no promoter is pleased losing meetings, no passionate fan is happy losing meetings but afa fans go it's no good staying away from your club if things aren't going good because that's a sure way to lose ya club!!!! Let's keep supporting our club, riders and management, as we know all the stars have to be aligned for club success, it will happen again, I'm there!
  7. Christ, poor MPT, his bogey track, thinking back to the robbery of the Stars by the Pirates in 2018
  8. Surely speedway has always been in a precarious position as clubs have never been set in stone, they have always come and gone. Let's hope Newcastle can be saved!
  9. Just asking :p I'll admit to not reading my Star from back to front oops
  10. Is there a club that races on Tuesdays these days?
  11. You need to persuade the Championship promoters that they need to promote weaker teams, they are sitting pretty!
  12. So have they changed their club practices from all the years riders rode 4 leagues?
  13. I've been to plenty of grass track meetings over the years in the UK, could always see the whole track, good Sunday afternoon out.
  14. On the other hand Poland could and should allow self employed riders to do what they want as they did for years successfully instead of restricting their earning potential! Many riders do not even want to race in all leagues so it won't affect many of them anyway! It sounds that things may change next year so we will see.
  15. Tbh with team kevlars it feels a bit like that anyway lol Yes some riders' styles you can pick out but not all, especially away riders!
  16. No cos you can only see part of the race like a road race ......
  17. The system could work well if the Poles would allow it to ......
  18. Riders who want to/are good enough to race in Poland, Sweden, Denmark and GPs only race Mondays and Thursdays in the UK. Doesn't matter about the others really does it......
  19. I thought the track had been watered well but the riders still couldn't get enough drive round the outside, the inside line is too good?
  20. Guessing the guys simply don't want the hassle, the majority just aren't bothered about racing here anyway. Look at all the young aussies going straight to Poland, sad for us but we do need to push our youngsters on somehow. At last have read what Mark Lemon has said in the Star, that the Championship promoters need to embrace the rising star scheme again, to weaken Championship teams so there isn't the need for so much doubling up of riders but the encouragement/improvement of youngsters. He thinks at some point in the very near future that GB will be bereft of riders because we haven't trained them up basically. He thinks all promoters need to look to the future instead of today .....
  21. We do not, we use Mondays and Thursdays! Yes our promoters have tried to accommodate other leagues, GP promoters, stock car promoters, dog racing promoters etc because actually everything can work with a bit of give and take, until Poland pi@@ed on the matches in all ways, looking forward to them getting burnt, may be too late for British Speedway though ....
  22. So the Championship promoters would be happy to promote a league with all NL riders in would they whilst the Premiership have all the best riders prepared to race here? Bloody Championship promoters won't even embrace the Rising Star scheme! Are you coming up with the readies to pay 2/3 riders extra in each team to allow for injuries during the season and for them to train to keep race fit etc?
