The Most Secret Speedway Meeting Ever
Trees replied to Grand Central's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Why would they want anyone to know, the less that is being mentioned about the reason they are doing it the better for THEM!! When is the FIM press release about Warsaw coming out? -
We don't reckon he'll come to Lynn!

Oh yeah buzzing my nips off teehee -
55000, LOL I wonder if that will ever happen again!!

They sold off speedway's crown jewels, the World Championship, just when the digital age was born. Now we have OneSport and their European Championship which pays more and attracts the riders above who really should be racing in the World Championship. It's turning into a scenario like boxing, darts etc Pees me off ..... Oh and times have changed from years ago, people are different and have different expectations.

At Lakeside on Friday there were loads of kids, unfortunately they were all bloody playing football LOL. I guess it is up to the parents and promoters and riders to engage them in the meeting ..... I failed to do that with 2\3 of my children! Again at Lakeside Jon Cook got on the mic to introduce the riders and AJ rode round the stock car track on his own after being introduced as a World Cup Winner. The Hagon Shocks kids do their races before the meeting and at a point during the meeting they parade round the stock car track high fiving any fans standing on the back straight, it was all good stuff! What was nice too at Lakeside was the fans applauding the away riders as a mark of respect, we are awful at Lynn, you can hear a pin drop during away intros, what are we like? Mind you the riders do tend to have their helmets on which doesn't encourage anyone to make any noise, they may be able to hear but it sure doesn't look like it, not sure this is the main reason mind, we just are not respectful or perhaps we take the guys for granted??

Gotta blame the fim for encouraging this scenario where speedway fans will never get to see all the best speedway riders racing to be World Champion! Hope they are happy, prats.

We all know that riders need to give more than just racing their bikes, they need to get into the head of fans and understand.Equally so the promoter should understand the needs of fans who have attended their stadium for 50 years of their lives, on an anniversary such as this the only ones that really count are those that have been supporters of a club for all those years. They have kept the club alive really, I know each promoter has put their money in but most have taken plenty out. Buster still has time to do something special for those, in particular, who have supported the Stars for 50 years. Of course to try to win the league is pretty paramount for him but little things count too 😊 Maybe he needs to talk to some of them to find out what they would like, I lay a bet that it would be nothing that costs anything!
-
With a little thought there are things that could be done every week to celebrate the 50 years. I can think of loads can't u?

That is a ridiculous score from Zagar,he needs to explain himself to the fans big time!!!!! -
I think you are probably right.
-
I dunno, perhaps he bought it off Rory ..... maybe it's more getting his set up right, I felt that was the prob last night. We'll see what the management do.
-
Probably right tbh, oh well, ballsup

Rob's move on Bech was tough, I wouldn't have thought Rob meant it to be, youthful exuberance I put it down to but not surprised Bech was a little bit peed off. It's quite possible that everyone from Lakeside missed it until after the race 'on purpose'
-
It was an entertaining meeting definitely, some hard moves all round from two sides that both wanted the win. I definitely enjoy my Lakeside visits, standing on the back straight on the stock car track, close to the action as possible. The small track is a leveller, the riders can't go bombing off into the distance so there is quite a bit of close racing.
-
In defence of Nicklas, he really is trying, you ought to have seen him riding at Lakeside last night, he was using one of Rory's engines, he couldn't get the set up quite right, it was rearing up, hard to ride but was fast and competitive. The boys from the Hagon Shocks Academy always have a go at Lakeside before the meeting which is great, they are all looking 'right'.
-
He didn't have a dirt deflector attached, crying shame!
-
Oh sorry obviously didn't take that one in lol
