I love league racing but I wonder if these sort of meetings would make money for promoters by attracting good crowds, depends what sort of monies the competitors would want ....... I'd love to see some sidecar racing, just the noise of the bikes makes me smile. I've never bothered with the other two but would part with money to see them .....
I'm guessing league racing ain't the answer to attract crowds.
Events involving solo speedway, sidecars, short track, drifting would attract crowds on Friday\Saturday\Sunday
So play some great tunes, have some banter over the tannoy during breaks, get the kids chanting, give the kids name checks, read out tweets, give answers to comp in the prog (14 questions, one after each race) etc etc .... make some effort
Why people bemoan the track prep between races annoys me so much, tell the kids and moaners that it's for rider safety and racing quality, should be good enough .....
Yes, GRW, he has improved the stadium without a doubt but the club doesn't have a great feel about it at the moment, hopefully things will change in 2016 ..... just little but really important stuff for the fans.
No, how many did you ask then and what ages?
But don't forget to tell them they damned well hurt and the rest eh, always hated crashes, more so through the years
Good post, only a few promoters and riders "get" the fan thing!!
Yeah but we've been talking about this for years, have they not?? Rider position share could easily have been implemented this season, why wait .... so frustrating. OK so probably not as easy as I think but they are constantly in contact ...... tch!!!
More fool him for jumping the gun I would say ..... ffs!
Yeah I know all that, not what I am saying though, guess I am asking opinions really about Buster's ideas .... and why they haven'the been done already ..... So why did it not happen, is that not a yes vote?
If Buster thinks that a one/two night EL and/or team berth sharing could happen why did it not this year to help our league? Or is Buster just hopeful and will these measures never be voted in?
Why are the promoters not seemingly doing the best for their businesses? Or is it they can't see/afford a way forward?
I cannot believe that they don't see Woffinden et al racing over here as a good thing for the league and each of their businesses? Or having asked the riders, even if they were offered less matches, one/two nights a week, are they not bothered/too mercenary to race in the BEL?
Said for years that Speedway meetings need to be better promoted than they ever have, the promoters need young, enthusiastic people working with them to do it too!
One definition of "retarded" is foolish or stupid so in SCB's case calling JC a "retard" could just have meant a stupid or foolish person ...... not that SCB needs anyone sticking up for him, he deserves a good old thwarting at times with some of the stuff he says. On the other hand he can be one of the most clever, informative and on-the-ball posters on here.....
