  1. But I was persuaded and then loved it lol
  2. Well for those who didn't bother, you missed a goodun 😆 Always have to keep the faith!
  3. Ought to have been called? Organised the day off then heard about the teams, wanted to come see NKI v Zagar and Robert against ya 😕 All the same, good luck Stars, Batch looked a whole lot better last night, Lewis Rose was great, Jacobsen will like the open space as will Lambo and generally guests do well in Stars colours 😊
  4. Thanks Skidder 😆 Our main objective isn't to raise money but to bring the club and fans closer together and provide those special, unforgettable experiences for our members like being mascot, picking Rider of the Night and watching racing from the centre of the track. All helps to give a feeling of belonging to the club 😊
  5. Fun night and a great result from the Stars, well happy for the team particularly those who had iffy form last week, just need to get a couple more racing to their capabilites and watch em go. Our team manager instilled some determination into them and it sure worked against the strong Aces
  6. The crowd was not all round the track as at Lynn but yeah there was a good feel about it, the promoters had tried hard with flags and banners, the fans were up for it and their riders obliged them. I really don't think our doom and gloom sayers on here could ever be up for a good time again! Jesus, depresses me!
  7. The Glasgow promoters, fans and riders are doing a great job, of course it's easier with a local derby but all the same. All promoters should take note! How I miss our Ipswich and Peterborough derbies 😕
  8. Why haven't the BSPA done anything about this scenario, it's stupid.
  9. So riders lose rides, lower order riders who need the money, great ..... not. The top boys get easy tactical rides, miles out in front, great .... not. I'd say do away with all tacticals, just have gate changes .....
  10. So you go watch TeamGB at BV in the SWC, want to go watch Woffinden again cos you are impressed with his talent, oh dear no chance, unless you go to Poland or Sweden, bloody great for British Speedway..... NOT! Why is he not racing here you ask, it's too much trouble!
  11. People still wouldn't attend. What the BSPA need is a really good deal for their speedway rights so they could make tv meetings, entry by donation ..... or persuade sponsors to stump up big time for tv meetings, again so the fans can attend for a donation .... they must fill the stadiums so the people watching on tv think they are missing out on live speedway (which they are ).
  12. Yes they would just to save the money, charging less helps but even then those who travel quite a way still don't bother. Whilst the advert breaks are happening of course there ought to be interviews etc as there are on non Sky nights ... We all know why season tickets aren't cheaper, because the promoters can't afford it, if we were getting capacity crowds then of course it would be different 😕
  13. His averages just don't make sense, must be down to effort, 100% EL 75% PL .....
  14. Does Newman use better equipment in the BEL than BPL?
  15. That is why the Poultec Speedway course is good, the boys learn engineering as well.
  16. I think the squad part of teams will be top guys who race for lots of teams.
  17. With so few EL home matches, no way would I miss a live one, it's always good to watch the coverage back after though 😊 Got to admit to not liking the strictness of the TV coverage and the way it intervenes with a meeting though ....
  18. I do an 80 mile round trip to speedway but a few of us do share which works well.
  19. One of the very important things that BEL promoters need to improve on is track prep, there should be one mighty competition to be the Track of the Year every year. Should be voted upon by riders and a prize for the winner. And the worst prepared track should be outted and fined!
  20. To save money I guess, simple as. Many fans just aren't as passionate about their team as in years gone by.
  21. I'd love to watch KOC matches again, but I was never one of the fans who stopped going to them. I'm pretty sure the riders could spare half an hour in the bar after a meeting if they really wanted BUT not so sure that many fans bother to go in on a weeknight. It was the done thing on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday when UK racing was number one but not now. When we were in the PL loads of our team lived locally and only rode in the UK so it was a totally different scenario.
