  1. They shouldn't have taken the edr races into account for averages from the get go this season, then the edrs would have proper averages against the 2nd strings, same re the 2nd strings to work out who should be at reserve .....
  2. What are you coming along to watch on Thursday then SL? 😊
  3. I've never taken any notice of the facilities tbh, we've ALWAYS had decent terracing be it sleepers and dirt or the concrete of today, that is all you need to watch the racing. I guess when Huggy was doing the track it was early days for Buster, before the stocks really took off, Huggy was a master and had good material to use. Huggy kept grip the track over. Buster has to accommodate modern day bikes that hate grip but if riders have the will and skill to have a go now they can gain ground and pass, and that is gooooood to watch
  4. Got used to it m8 ..... a neccessary evil ...
  5. Nah, you need some continuity during a meeting ....
  6. At Lynn for instance the track may be too grippy for mdl riders possibly, I guess this wouldn't be a problem at most tracks though .....
  7. All round, "proper" terracing, easier viewing into the pits, really nice corporate facilites (not that I have actually been into them but looking from the outside), more box office windows open, but the main thing for me is the terracing .......
  8. Sheffield, Coventry and Poole????? I'd say apart from maybe their grandstands the AFA is definitely better than those ...... dunno about Kent and the new Glasgow, haven't been to them ...
  9. I enjoy the mdl or having a look at newbies after meetings. Our riders have got in the habit of walking through the crowd to the pits at the end of mtgs which is a great opportunity for the fans to shake their hands, have a photo, a word or get an autograph ....
  10. The supporters could pay an extra £1 a head for it 😯
  11. A bit of both I suspect but why they didn't sort the averages out this season, taking away any scores from the protected heats and then not using the protected heats in this year's averages I know not ....
  12. Surely all promoters realise the EDR rules haven't worked this season, 100% they'll do something different regards that. I think they need to "go back to the start" with this league, tracks being number one ....
  13. Trying desparately to find some kind of advantage of course?
  14. So sorting the EDR system is gonna be the saviour of EL?
  15. We have an MDL meeting now and again but on a Wednesday/Thursday night most fans disappear off home. Years ago when we rode on Saturday nights, the proper 2nd half was a pretty big part of the meeting, but those days have gone ..... never to come back at Lynn with stock car meetings taking precedent ...
  16. That's a pretty blanket statement, very negative and not true for many clubs and riders, no more than it ever has been. Of course the promoter(s), management and fans of any club have to make the club a place that riders want to race for and feel a part of .... works all ways, for riders and fans ..
  17. That's why I'm saying the club is missing a good PR person. Everyone currently has a job and probably can't put any more time in ....
  18. Buster obviously hasn't lost interest or he wouldn't have put himself up as Chairperson of the BSPA. Perhaps he wants change and i guess he's trying to do something about it. He's admitted that it's a harder job than he expected when he was voted in though. I think the club is missing someone in a PR position.
  19. Thanks iris123 ...... I get what Smolinski is saying but from a supporter's point of view, I want the riders to race at their best, with total commitment. So I would rather meetings be called off than go ahead, rain offs are just part of the sport, always have been, always will be. Unless they start racing on concrete!
