Funny thing is some motorcycle racers think that speedway riders are the craziest, bravest racers in the world, not sure if they think they are crazy for racing speedway for the money they get or that it's a dangerous, crazy sport, bit of both perhaps ... I'm not convinced that many motorcyclists would be particularly interested in speedway even if things changed because they can't go out and buy similar bikes to ride on the road, they can't take their own road bikes on track days etc etc. Perhaps I'm totally wrong, hope so You've given me a good idea for my club though :) Bit of a tester for local bikers next speedway season

How many bloody of these threads have we had over the years, I can't be arsed to post on them anymore. Gotta say some promotions are doing most of the stuff that I hoped would help over the years and these promotions seem to be doing well. I hope they share their ideas and positivity at the conference and together with some other initiatives muted lately perhaps it'll be a good year ahead ........ maybe

The trouble is many of the motorcycling fraternity (in my experience) don't consider 'speedway' erm 'proper motorcycle racing' on 'real bikes' .... i'm guessing this is the reason the Motorcycle News doesn't include speedway in it's pages.

What difference will it make to us? Unless someone is thinking about going into speedway promotion..... All we really want is for our clubs to be run well, for the fans and riders and staff to feel valued. For our promotions to seemingly be doing all they can to make our clubs a success. We all know whether they are or not, in our opinions, but the reasons we may think they are or more importantly are not, aren't all the same. That is the frustrating part but I guess there's only one answer to that.

I want to see the riders giving 100%, if the track is so they can't call it off, rain offs are part if the sport. Unless they start racing on concrete it will always be so ....

Fans don't turn out! And the riders weren't happy, was it good racing? lol What when they used to don their overalls and slip and slide around for 4 laps all filled in with mud?

His talent hasn't been wasted, he's been racing in the Polish and Swedish leagues. So performing to the most important people, league speedway fans ....

Did the British promoters actually vote for that rule though? Even if they did, two wrongs don't make a right. I wouldn't mind so much if any rider didn't put their Polish club first because they bloody do for obvious reasons.

Don't we all, tbh riders will always put Poland first because they don't wanna miss out on the paydays. For Polish Speedway to be so selfish towards the other leagues is just not on ....... if the sun doesn't carry on shining for Polish speedway the other leagues/promoters won't forget this rule ....

Will just have to wait to see if this is confirmed, he was quoted in the ELRC prog as saying if things stay the same he will stay racing in the UK, hope so .....

But people don't go to speedway to go to the loo they go to be entertained and that is THE most important ingredient to the night. Of course I am joshing about the loos but honestly bad loos never put me off and we had some awful loos at Lynn, mind you I do come from the era of outside loos at school with daddy longlegs all over the door arghhhhh lol The men on the mic are worth their weight in gold at a meeting, if every club had a good one it would help immensely. If every rider got it into their head that they are racing for their fans and the refs allowed the riders plenty of time to interact with the fans after each race, we'd be getting somewhere!

So Stars fans what's your team wish list for 2017 ....

Because British promoters have to rent their stadiums for the months they need it perhaps? We obviously can't attract the same amount of sponsorship either unfortunately. I don't know how Polish companies makes their books balance giving so much sponsorship to speedway when not paying their workforce much 😊
