I think it was Bert Harkins and Dave Jessup, Kev. I've still got the prog at home with all their autographs on it so I'll dig it out next time I'm in the loft and check.
Yes, that's right it was definately Dave Jessup duncrusadin that's reminded me. I can't remember Haggis being there though (but that means nothing )
There's no special dispensation for age in speedway (in the UK anyway) so the riders have to lie about their age - step forward Kelly Moran and Mitch Shirra. ;-)
I think this is when the photo of Ivan Mauger & Uncle Ted was taken, could it have been Young England v Australasia ( :?: ) not sure on the spelling there
No Shazz, Ivan rode at Kingsmead in a meeting in November - JSH got special permission to stage it - could have been some kind of anniversary meeting like the 50th year of speedway or something like that.
A sponsorship deal with P&O or whoever runs the ferry service would seem to be an ideal situation here - let's face it, riders commute between the UK, Sweden, Poland and Denmark frequently and many have done deals with various airline companies - why should the Irish Sea be a stumbling block when the North Sea isn't?
I'm with you on this Lioness - Stoney has struggled big time in the EL - his best score has been six (against EL opposition) - put him in at Cardiff and he'd look silly.
I think the two wildcards should be the top two non-GP riders in the British Final - that would give them something to race for and add a little more excitement to an outdated competition.
Can I share your bunker please. ;-)
There was a rumour that the GP circus would stop in Dublin this year but nothing came of it. However, they do say there's no smoke without fire so hopefully it could happen one day. That would be an excellent weekend!
can't believe you went to Canterbury and never had the pleasure of meeting knocker
Maybe I did Shazz but didn't know it.
Thinking about it, I do remember seeing knockers at Kingsmead ;-) , or am I going off the subject now. :?:
I understand it sometimes happens at your time of life
What, remembering people who always complained and critisized? :?
